Title: Egg questions....
Post by: lilbg on September 11, 2006, 07:01:44 PM
Are Egg beaters ok and hard boiled eggs?  Not trying to bulk so much right now but need to figure out something quick for breakfast.

Egg beaters are 99% egg whites and are fine. Try cheese and chive for a little extra flavor.

They are great - and you add them to a protein shake if you are brave.

Be human, cook/scramble them up (through in some pre-cooked wild salmon from the supermarket and some chives while you're at it).

That's worthless, alvidin needs to be denatured before the egg protein becomes bioavailable.

Thanks, i got the idea from a high end breakfast place in California called "Marmalade Cafe" which serves scrambled eggs, salmon and chives.  The salty salmon makes the eggs delicous.

So, I modified the recipe to use egg whites.  My other modification, I throw two cups of scrambled egg whites with salmon into a whole wheat tortilla with a shot of tobasco and its a great breakfast burrito

Itakes 2 servings, per serving: 280 cals, fat- 6g, protein- 45g, carbs-19g, fiber 14g

There's a small diner in the plaza my store's in.  The woman makes me a nice meal #2 daily.  10 egg whites 1 yoke fried in Pam/  just a few homefries and an English muffin.  I keep Smucker's sugar free jam at work.  Great meal, maby the best of the day and for 6 bucks with a coffee ;D  The key for me and egg whites is bomb the hell out of them with pepper.  Good for digestion.

I occasionally throw in turkey lunch meat (peppered or smoked - hmmmmm).  Or I add onions, tomatoes, or even lean burger once in a while.  I always top with a little bit of cheese (just enough for flavor).

I throw in tomatoes, scallions and some kind of lean meat (chicken, burger or fish) into my scrambled eggs all the time, lots of protein, low carbs and tastes delicious
