T.J #3 ?

What is "Men's Athletic" ?
Doesn't that need to take place on a running track? ???

similar to what Figure is to Women's Physique. There is a height to weight ratio that you must have to be allowed to compete. You'd call it swimmer's build.

tj gets third in an am. show and is still considered a pdi pro... ::)

Nothing againest him as I do believe he has an impressive physique, but an interesting point.
I know I am a bit out of the loop here, but is the PDI 3 city European tour still happening?
-
Yes TJ took third....for those of you who know me, you know I don't bitch about placings.
I saw the pictures of the top 3, and it is a complete joke that the NABBA judges placed TJ in 3rd place, no disrespect to the top 2 guys....but they were not even close ALL AROUND in condition or size like TJ was.
Also......TJ WILL NOT COMPETE IN THE NOC THIS WEEKEND.....SO HE IS OUT -
it is NOT because of his shingles, but more to do with not believing that the PDI will be around for very long.
He is a class winer in the North America, and has the potential to place high in the USA and Nationals.
Vince, Vinny....now TJ

I was not there, but I heard tj was smooth and far from his best because of shingles. Fred Smalls owns the gym I go to, and I predict that in time he will be a pro. He is that good. He looks like the seconf coming of Flex Wheeler.
-
isn't Joe Bastardi the weatherman from Fox News?

A real pro or a PDI pro?
we predict you will get pwned this weekend and have epic excuses for your showing.

I was there and competed in the show and like Rhino said TJ was way off. You can't go by pictures. It was very close between the top 3 but he was not as tight and was holding alot of water. I am sure his medical problems didn't help the situation. One thing about NABBA is the judging is very fair.
-
Fred Smalls was awesome and deserved the win!!
TJ looked good, but was hoding a ton of water and looked as if he was literally melting onstage.

Yes I agree about pictures not telling the true story.....you know we have to defend our friends....
But....you will See TJ in future NPC shows.

I totally agree with you. I give him big props for competing with shingles. I had them and they are not any fun. Lifting and dieting were the last 2 things on my mind when I had them. The medication alone probably had alot to do with his conditioning and holding water.

NABBA nationals is not as competitive as NPC nationals but it was a very good show. Most of the class winners and top placers would have won or placed well wherever they competed. Multiple competitors came to the show that have won NPC shows.
The open medium and medium tall were especially good classes.
The top 5 in TJ's class were all very good. Top three was extremely close. The winner had outstanding shape and structure along with good overall mass and really full muscle bellies. TJ was a bit off and had some distension as well...not easy to prepare fully with what he had going on medically. Still, he looked very good. If he was 100%, it would have been close between he and Fred. The guy that took second had unbelievable conditioning, especially at the night show. His upper body was sick...legs were decent but lagged a little.
The NABBA is open to all competitors of all federations. The judging is fair and there is as little politics as you can get. The guys running the NABBA are great people. I am proud to have won several of their shows and their nationals last year. I encourage you guys to check out some of their shows in addition to the NPC. They'll post next years contest schedule at the end of this year on www.NABBA.com

hellen keller, ray charles and stevie wonder all see your potential...
hey cubicle jockey...my coffee is cold
-
Vinny, you have any more info on TJ and why he is out of the NOC?
I don't know what is going to happen with the PDI either, but it looks like all the US guys are dropping out or are getting some pressure not to compete. Looks like there will mainly be European BBers for this show...still some excellent European pros on stage.
-
Honestly, one of the things I like most about the NABBA is that focus is on shape, symmetry and conditioning as much as it is on mass and size. That allows guys to still be farily healthy and compete. They definitely mark down for poor conditioning, distended abdomens and poor aesthetics.

I wish Sami the best, seems like a pretty cool guy.
But the latest pics of Lee show that he is ready to destroy some ppl up there
