From a episode I saw this evening, the one where Marge becomes a slot monkey and Homer is left to look after the kids.
They're all in bed and Bart wakes Homer and says he's scared from a bad dream, Homer says it's ok and tells him to go back to bed. Bart tells him that it was the Boogeyman, at which point Homers eyes go as wide as dinner plates, he leaps out of bed and barricades the door and gets out the shotgun lol

One funny scene i remember:
Homer has made a special bed for Bart as a present. It's the shape of a clown, and homer says that Bart will laugh himself to sleep. But the clown looks like an insane killer clown and you see lil Bart shaking in his bed with fear, while homer walks away very pleased with himself...
Hmmmmm... probably funnier when you see it.

The episode where they organise a film festival in Springfield and Jay Sherman comes to judge. They're sitting round the dinner table and Homer boasts that he can do the biggest burp and shows them the prize he won in a contest.
Jay Sherman then lets out the most massive belch and all the birds fly off the trees outside. Bart hands Jay Homer's trophy. Classic. ;D

One of my all time faves is when marge in a production of "street car named desire" and they show homer in the background having issues with the candy vending machine only to show him slouch off in anger. A couple seconds later we see him come sprinting back into the scene and leaps into a jump kick, slams into the vending machine and all teh candy/crap comes pouring out. Homer says "i'll be in the car marge..."

homer spontaneously using his family and luggage for a nice game of tetris in hisstation wagon, complete with Nintendo music, was a nice one.

Classic episode...
..the dog 'santas little helper' goes missing and is taken in by Mr Burns, Homer goes looking for it and knocks on Mr Burns door....Mr Burns opens the door, looks down at Homers feet and says: 'excellent, running shoes, you've come prepared...Smithers, release the hounds!'
Montgomery Burns is the best character.

Agreed - Burns is definitely the best character - liked him from the very first episode I watched of the Simpsons. Which brings up another question - what was the first episode of the Simpsons you saw?

But, one of my favorite episodes in the "Grimey" one, which happens to be in the recently released 8th season DVD.
Also, "When Flanders Failed" was a fucking classic one. Its the one where Flanders quits his job to start the "Leftorium", and Homer wishes Flanders would go broke.......

The scene just before that always makes me roar with laughter. Homer is nagging Marge for some change for the candy machine, the director of the play gets annoyed and pulls a load of change from his pocket and throws it on the stage floor shouting "OH HERE!"

I remember a lot of stuff from it, prob seen it twice.
Homer's car has a "wheelblockade" (?) on it, so he's waiting for the guy to come take it off. And some greek guy comes to sell stuff. Homer asks what he's got, klabkahlash (crab juice) and lemonade. Homer yells out, EEEWWW, THATS DISGUSTING! One crab juice, please.
Then later Homer has drunk like 20 cans of it, and he can't go to the toilet cause he has to stand by his car, then he starts daydreaming about "flushing meadows".
Then later homer drives home with the wheelblockade on it, totally ruining his car, stopping all traffic, but determined not to give in...
So many good stuff in it.

in one episode, homer is running through the house naked, screaming! in another one, mr burns spits out the three eyed fish accross the room! i also love the one where flanders screams when he sees the purple drapes hanging up.
