Title: Computer Buying Help
Post by: BroadStreetBruiser on September 14, 2006, 05:57:40 PM
I found this laptop trolling on ebay. Seems like a good deal. Any advice on this particular model?

you can get another dell and mod it to make it as good as this model for less.  Also what software bundle did this have

misread the price.  Not a bad deal, but check to see what it's bundled with.  You can easily spend a ton of money on software if you dont already have it

not bad then.  My only thing is the 14" screen.  I have a dell laptop and after a while i miss the bigger desk top screen i have. but go for it, especially if they honor the warranty

The user looks suspect in my opinion. Sub 100% rating feedback with very few... :-\

Do you need the versatility of a laptop or can you do with a desktop?

There are a shitload of sweet desktop deals on eBay from reputable companies.

This is the best deal on a good notebook right now and it's from Newegg which I trust completely.

I depend on my computer for my entire income.  I customized a dell and they threw in a few 19 inch flatscreen.  Entire computer was $1300 delivered and it's never crashed, never made me wait for anything, even though I do video editing, watch movies, and post whore while building websites all day.  XPS200 with all the fixins.   And of course, an extrnal backup drive and a movie/music PC in the other room where I back things up every night too.

Also I had a sony vaio laptop, but she is down :(

Yet you're a fan of Dell?

I fix computers on the side for extra income and Dell's and HP are the two brands I see with the most problems.

I'd buy an Acer before a Dell without hesitation.

my laptop is a Dell and haven't had a problem with it.  I owned an Acer desktop as did my sister and they were horrible.  My friend has an acer laptop and its not bad.  I have a gateway desktop.  I agree that HP's are bad though
