Lets say maintenance is 2000 calories.
Day 1 1000 calories
Day 2 2000 calories
Day 3 2000 calories
repeat.

I know a lot of diet programs recommend going below maintenance for several days and then going above maintenance for a day to help keep your metabolism up and to trick your body into not thinking it's going into starvation mode.
Maintenance: 2500 calories
Day 1 - 6: 1500 calories
Day 7: 3500 calories
We also call it a cheat day. For me it's sunday.
