I'm going to the stairs in 30 minutes because I'm fat. Who's with me? Anybody... Anybody?

Tommy I would love to go. Did those stairs a few times. Was it 3rd or 4th?
-
4th street Daddy-o. I'll do the wooden ones, as opposed to the cemet ones. When your out-of-shape, those bastards are tough.

I've done those stairs but the ones in Palos Verdes, CA are more brutal. Beware of rattlesnakes though.

Negative bm... I haven't heard of it. I do know that soft sand stuff is hard work and excellent x-training, IMO.
Hold it! I do know where those dunes are. I might check those out. thanks.

I think those stairs are behind the church am I right Max. Yes Sand Dune park is unreal. We have a place here on Oahu that is really neat. It is stairs that go up the crest of a peak here. It is at least 1/4 mile long almost straight up. It is shear cliff on both sides. It is called the 'Stairway to Heaven". It was closed for refurbishing but I think it is open now.

They also have one off Rosecrans in Manhattan Beach. There is also a really good one in Malibu.

Damn, I thought this was the follow up to 8th street latinas :(

Wow!! Those steps will kick your ass in. I went with my wife when I was in LA and I thought I was going to die. Obviously never made but just walking them was brutal. Went to the firehouse and had a Bob bowl for lunch.

I did those stairs every morning when I lived in Venice. 10 times walking them two at a time. Killer calf WO. Do the wood ones, not the cement.

That's funny. Just got home and I did 10 flights total; 8 sets on the wood & 2 sets on the concrete. Steep little SOB'S.
JR... I've done them with you. Early 90's.

If you go all the way to the very end of Crenshaw Blvd. up in Palos Verdes they are behind the church as Onlyme said. They are at the end of the main hiking trail so you can probably get a map from the Sierra Club. At the end of the hike you have a choice to go up the steep hill or veer off and go the stairs… brutal either way. Sometimes I go up there just for the stairs though.

I just heard about Sand Dune park from a guy on IA. It’s in Manhattan Beach. He said from the South Bay (Redondo Beach) go North on Sepulveda and turn left on Rosecranz towards the beach. You go about a mile and then turn left on Bell St. (there's a preschool on the corner).

I think you turn at the school or VFW hall. Haven't lived there in awhile.
