Title: Flex Wheeler's autobiography
Post by: torquemada on September 22, 2006, 04:38:11 PM
Since the man has actually been on the boards a little, I want to know if anyone has read his autobiography from a few years ago.  I just picked it up online and wanted to see what GB had to say...

Overall it's a good book. Should you believe everything you read in it? Who knows....

the book was ok but, in it, he lied about being natural at the 2002 mr o.  he later admitted that he was on stuff. i think he lied to his church too.

I just can't get over some of the stuff his wife put up with.  He said he'd shoot his gun in the house when he was depressed...which was a lot.

I have it and bought it new , and it wasn't worth the cover price , if you could pick it up cheap on Amazon I reccomend it

Flex is prone to melodrama and he lies a lot as well , but a good read , read John Hottens book Muscle , thats a very good read.

Like when he called 911 and said this is "Flex Wheeler" and the opperator said " the bodybuilder " like she would know who the fuck he is.  There was lots of stuff in there that I don't believe but I am a Flex fan and it was pretty intresting

It was an okay read - I'd give it 6 out of 10. I wouldn't rate it higher because I get the impression that there's a lot of exaggeration and stuf he doesn't necessarily want the reader to know. But then, anyone's autobiography is like that - I'd do the same if I were writing about me.

Am I the only person who thought the book was very badly written? Not like I am some expert on literature, but it didn't seem to be well done.

It was just way over the top for me.  He claims $90,000 for a guest posing.  I want to believe he's a changed man, but it's hard to gather up much sympathy for him...

I don't believe everything he wrote in that book....I think he still likes attention.

One thing is for sure....Madeline is a saint because I would not have put up with half of the drama she did.

Got the book read it back in 03, what I remember most about was how he said he didn't drink alcohol and latter in the book he describes a period of depression he went through and talks about how he was contemplating suicide. He decided he was going to drink himself to death, but then had a change of heart BUT "he still went to the store and bought a 6-PACK!!" That shit had he rollin - I was thinking dam this guy really isn't a drinker!!!!!!

A LITTLE drama is one thing, but someone shooting my shit up and generally acting crazy is a whole different story.

She must have really loved him because I would have left his ass high and dry.  Someone who behaves like that is not for me.
