Title: computer question
Post by: Bigger Business on September 23, 2006, 12:59:49 AM
i was using dvdshrink to copy some dvd's and for a while it worked fine. now whenever i use it...about half way thru the encoding process a noise comes from the box and it restarts my pc...well it just shuts it down and then it starts up again. last night i tried to put a cd into my itunes and it did the same thing

what could cause that...suggestions how to fix it?

It kind of sounds like something's gotten corrupted and a clean uninstall/reinstall of the DVDShrink software might fix it.  And maybe do the same thing with iTunes.

As far as what caused it in the first place...  no ideas here!

There's a conflict somewhere that's causing the reboot. Do you use any Anti-Spyware software? If so clean your system thoroughly and download a fresh version of DVDShrink and reinstall it.

If you don't have any Anti-Spyware on your computer download Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware SE and install and update them and then run them on your system. Run Spybot first. You might as well do a virus scan as well. Make sure your Anti-Virus software is up to date before you run a scan.
