Hey all, just got back from prejudging where it seems like a toss up between Dareem Charles and Johnnie Jackson. Dareem should get the nod in my opinion.
3rd and 4th seems to be between Rodney St. Cloud and King Kamali.
Fighting for 5th seems like Brian Chamberlain, Marcus Haley and Jason Arntz. Others in the top 10 may include: Craig Richardson, Luke Wood, Will Harris, Caribbean guy--dont remember his name and possibly Art Atwood. Again, this is my observation based on the callouts at both the muscularity and symmetry rounds. All the top 7 or 8 guys were in really good condition. Craig was off, Will was hard in some poses but soft in others. Luke Wood has some great bodyparts but needs to flow better. Marcus has great overall package but just needs a little more of it. Just the way I saw it guys, so there you have it.

Sounds like a decent lineup. I wish it was being webcast.

Thanks for the updates-keep em coming for the west coast guys. D

It was actually a really good lineup. Far better than expected.

i would think if jj is on that he would take it...i really dont wanna see darrem get another gift...he has already gotten many.
how did don long look?
-
JJ was in fact a hair off. Don Long looked good but nearly a shadow of his old self. Held his own size and shape wise, but that deep separation and necessary conditioning just werent there.
-
I didn't even know Kamali was in the show. How was the turnout for prejudging?

Is this legit?? None of those guys (not a single one) was even supposed to be in the show except Johnny Jackson and Will Harris.
-
duvall?
-
Craig, Brian and Luke were supposed to be.
Kamali was not sure
-
where the hell did kamali, darrem, st cloud, chamberlain and haley come from? they werent supposed to be there...

Neither were Arntz or Atwood.
-
yeah i didnt realize that half those guys he mentioned were doing the show.
stokely and the other promoter did not do a very good job promoting this show.
i wonder how the turnout will be tonight.
-
duvall?
Matt looked okay, pec tear was noticeable and was slightly off in condition.

They did a very shitty job. No website, no webcast (even though bb.com offered to pay for it), no message board chatter about it, scheduled the same day as the Spanish Grand Prix. Hell... does this show even really exist?

kk is already qualified so the spot would go to st. cloud, chamberlain, haley or arntz.
i wouldnt mind seeing arntz get it...hes been around for a while and hasnt had a chance to do an olympia yet...not that he would have a chance at top 10 there.

what about Don?
-
what about Don?
cf posted that his conditioning was off...with that line up i doubt he made the top 10.
-
how on earth does Kamali finish ahead of Brian Chamberlain without biased judging?
-
Hows tamali look? Is duvall that bad, what about his size?
-
They did a veryscheduled the same day as the Spanish Grand Prix.
That one is tomorrow

Kamali is the best i've seen him in a long time. Does deserve to place ahead of Brian who's been tighter. Matt's size is ok, but his conditioning is also ok, so he doesn't look real big or real hard in the lineup. He could and should be much better next time.
Don is not in the top 10. Unless i'm way off.
-
How big of a crowd is actually there, prejudge and finals?
-
where the hell did kamali, darrem, st cloud, chamberlain and haley come from? they werent supposed to be there...
Rodney was signed to do this show since June..
-
how on earth does Kamali finish ahead of Brian Chamberlain without biased judging?
honnestly, I saw Brian at the montreal pro and he is so short that he looks less impressive when he is next to other bbers

I agree 100% for 4 days straight I tried to get simple information before driving all the way down there from NYC and every time I called I got a rude, impatient person who basically stuttered the whole time and kept telling me that I should call him back. There was never an official competitor list put up on their site and after seeing now the people who actually were in it, I would have went down there...if what i'm reading on this site is accurate...Real bad promotions
-
It could have really been a pretty good show if it was promoted right. I can't believe that they turned down a free webcast from bodybuilding.com ::) The IFBB should regulate the shows in which they put their name on. The Atlantic City Pro is one of the last Olympia qualifers!!!!! This should be a hyped show!!!! C-mon... Ive seen more publicity for local NPC shows. Whats up with the smaller shows? They are not giving bodybuilding the amount of publicity necessary for proper growth of the sport. Pros are Pros and there are other shows out there besides the O. I just don't get it?
-
Congrats to Rodney St. Cloud for his qualification for the Mr. Olympia. His routine should make it interesting in the Olympia finals. Often times, various competitors wait until the last minute to enter a show, especially so close before the Olympia.
As for the webcast, originally I heard they turned it down because they were going to do their own, but I have also heard that not having a webcast may bring fans to actually watch the show. Interesting to hear the reasoning behind it all. However, various fees of having a webcast also come up, like line feed, costs to have a video run live, and other costs from the actual contest place. It all depends who picks up all of these costs, and it it is worth it.

Yeah...cool, way to go. He's what bodybuilding is all about.............. :-\

who cares, if he doesn't do those things onstage he is alright in my book
you have to admit his physique is pretty damn good

You obviously hadn't heard about that gay-ass routein that he and Kai Green did last year at the Ironman??
-
Yeah I agree it was a little bit strange but he wasn't doing any gay shit
at least of what I remember of the routine :-\
-
There was no gay-ass routine at the Ironman. It was however, a strange mixture of Kai and Rodney with masks on stage, doing an entertaining round that some people liked, and other bodybuilding purists were aghast at it. However, most like you won't see that again, because I think the IFBB wants each competitors to compete in round three by themselves, not with another competitor. As for Rodney St. Cloud, at the Europa Super Show, he had chains with him...

shittiest lighting ever used for a show !
-
but I have also heard that not having a webcast may bring fans to actually watch the show.
That's flawed reasoning. First, 99%+ of the people who would watch the webcast worldwide either wouldn't or couldn't go see the live show in Atlantic City. Second, even for those few who were local, usually if you're the type who goes to live bodybuilding shows, you're gonna go, webcast or no webcast.
However, various fees of having a webcast also come up, like line feed, costs to have a video run live, and other costs from the actual contest place. It all depends who picks up all of these costs, and it it is worth it.
Not a valid argument, since BB.com offered to pick up 100% of the costs.
-
what was the attendance?
-
damn this rodney looks like a pornstar..his web site also has some crazy shit in it...but this guy is sporty nonetheless...
-
congrads to rodney ! he is very entertaining. yea he does odd things on stage but dont mean he is gay. ive know rodney for years and he is a real good dude. for all u haters that dont even know and talk sh*t about him. good luck to him at the mr o !
