Cowboys' Owens attempted suicide, police say
Wide receiver rushed to hospital Tuesday after taking pain medication

DALLAS - Flamboyant Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens attempted suicide by overdosing on pain medication, even putting two more pills into his mouth after fire rescue personnel arrived.
A Dallas police report released Wednesday morning said Owens told rescue workers “that he was depressed.” The report was first released by WFAA-TV.
The rescue worker “noticed that (his) prescription pain medication was empty and observed (Owens) putting two pills in his mouth,” the police report said.
The worker attempted to pry them out with her fingers, then was told by Owens that before this incident he’d taken only five of the 40 pain pills in the bottle he’d emptied. The worker then asked Owens “if he was attempting to harm himself, at which time (he) stated, ‘Yes.”’

Yes it has. Well from credible sources. The police are side stepping but it is pretty obvious what happened. They will claim it was not a suiceide attempt tho!

O brother obv you and 90 percent of the people in this thread have never delt with depression bi polar dissorder or suicide. None of those factors you listed would prevent a sick person from commiting suicide. Obv TO is going to deny this.

Good point. I just learned from Al-G the other day that author Iris Chang committed suicide. She had everything to live for, but she was bipolar and suffered from major depression.
I'm not convinced it was a suicide attempt, yet, but I suspected he might be bipolar. If you want to see just how deeply rooted this guy's problems are, read the arbitrator's decision upholding his suspension by the Eagles. The guy is sick.

I have no idea if he did this or not. But on the official police report he was quoted telling the emts he wanted to harm himself. His publisist is also qouted telling the police he attempted suicide. He has done many things over his carrer that would fit nicely in the profile of a bipolar or depressed person. I have delt with depression and bipolar disorder extensively in my personal life. I have also had a very close friend commit suicide. I am not going to even get into it because most people are ignorant to these disorders and spew a bunch of nonsense as usual.
There is no way TO admits to this. Think about it. He tried it now wants to cover it up. Just another day in the life of TO.

am i the only one who thinks that TO might be gay and this is the cause of everything? It really all adds up. he just won't accept it, so he acts out in other outlandish ways. I have strong gaydar, and this guy sets the alarms off like crazy. If he is, then he should just come out of the closet, play the "good for him" card and go on with his career. I personaly hope he IS gay, because then his entire persona would make so much sense, not in the sense that gay people are moronic assholes, but that he does things to draw attention to himself in anyway that could lead people to think asshole, primadona, selfish... but never think he's gay. I think people would be more accepting than he thinks, but his teammates are another issue.

Well apparently they didn't pump his stomach out and he's driving around Dallas in his Escalade. ::) Most people who try to commit suicide are kept for observation and not "let out" in less than 24 hrs. Don't assume until you really know.

Either Kim Ethridge messed up and is trying to backpedel or TO is lying. Again I am willing to bet you have no expierence with suicide or depression. I had my stomach pumped in highschool for alchol poisining. I was at football practise the next morning. I cant wait till the 911 tape comes out. I think TO will be fine. On contrare....my brother-in-law commited suicide in early 1991 because he had a gambling addiction and lost everything. One of my friends hung himself at 14 (I was 16). My older brother is gay and has had depression. So yeah I have some experience. Have you ever had an allergic reaction to medicine? I had my stomach pumped in highschool for alchol poisining. I was at football practise the next morning.
Cmon body88, if you had alcohol poisoning you would have recieved medical attention for at least 24 hours. Don't buy it.

Yes!!! It means nothing I have tons of experience with people suffering from bi polar disorder and depression. If a person was showing all the signs of a rotator cuff injury I am sure you would not speculate that was there problem since you had had one yourself!
Go back to believing that the police made all those sworn statements up for no reason... I bet most are huge fans of the guy. I am sure they would love to risk there jobs making up lies about him. I am also sure the emt's lied. Same thing with the 911 people and his publicist. Everyone just wants to get TO :'(
Anyone who knows depression and or bi polar disorder would agree TO is a prime candidate due to his odd behavior and acting out. Not to mention all those charges of depression and bi polar where written in the police report. I guess the cops really just hate TO.

Again since I'm Asian, and my whole family is involved in the medical field, with my father and several aunts being Emergency Room Nurses and techs, I've had stories relayed to me about many situations they went through including alcohol poisoning. But maybe you'll respond to this before yapping away like you did about the Patriots SB 0-2 starts.

Some conventional treatments do not work for AOD:
Pumping the stomach
Syrup of Ipecac to induce vomiting
Activated charcoal
Narcan (to reverse the effects of the central nervous system depressant)
As a result, the following can happen:
Victim chokes on own vomit
Breathing slows, becomes irregular, stops
Heart beats irregularly or stops
Hypothermia (low body temperature) leads to cardiac arrest
Hypoglycemia (too little blood sugar) leads to seizures
And since you brought it up, if you were released and DID have alcohol poisoning, the only way to disperse it from your body is through your own metabolism. Since alcohol poisoning is beyond what you would call "drunk", how would have gone to football practice without the symptoms of a very serious hangover?

Think what you guys want. I am not going to argue about it anymore. I think TO has some problems none of us see. I also think his odd behavior and acting out has something to do with some type off depression or disorder. I think TO attempted to kill himself to get attention. I do not think he is serious about it. But I do think he tried. I believe when he saw how much of an idiot this made him look like and realized the serious implications of his acts he backpedaled.
If you guys think a sworn police statement is full of lies, the emts where lying , the 911 people where lying and also TO's own publicist made a mistake with here admition of taking pills out of TO's mouth and his suicide attempt thats your thing. I still live ya!

I was at football practice at 10 am on a sat.... I was not feeling great but I was not near death. I have no way to prove this claim at all. So if you guys do not believe me thats cool. Did not mean to offend you guys with my comments by the way. You both seem pretty cool.

I agree, He's was always the headliner in SF. He should have stayed there because he WAS the star of the team period. Bet he kinda wishes he was still there.
I'm just glad that the 9ers are going in the right direction.
