Title: Well this at least settles one aspect of Dorian vs. Ronnie.....
Post by: Palpatine Q on October 01, 2006, 11:58:12 AM
While thier physical attributes are still debatable, Dorian now has the upper hand on two fronts......

A :   Brains, he knew when it was time to go.

B :   He never lost an O

Yes before he retired, He must felt the menace of Nasser. Cus he was growing and growing and always owned Dorian from the front. And Dorian was his limit.

Ronnie also. He was not untouchable last year. Jay was approaching.
Ronnie should have listened to the sound of feet of Jay last year.

Yeah, Dorian had half a bicep missing, but they still gave it to him. It wasn't until he tore his tricep, that he called quits.

What's better, win 6 olympias and leave undefeated or win 8 ones and being beat?

Depends on how one looks at it. Winning six and getting out for your own ego, knowing that you might be beat, or rolling the dice one more time. If you are beaten, you are passing the "crown". Of course leaving on one's own accord is a good thing as well, or as I stated is it good for the ego.

I disagree,

Its ignorant for you to say Ronnie should of retired. You have to be blind if you think that he didnt belong up there, is that what your saying? After its been determined he beat himself, coming in too heavy?

Coleman is another level above yates.

What's better, win 6 olympias and leave undefeated or win 8 ones and being beat but also having won more professional titles than anyone else alive, including the Arnold Classic (as Mr. Olympia)?

fixed 8)

if someone still has a competitive physique then why not compete? if Ronnie came back on 07' and won, i think that would make him greater than before (in that Ali kinda way).

The stress of preparation to their body is beyond your imagination.

I'd rather have 6 and be undefeated.

I wouldn't - considering that one of my wins (1994) was the most contraversial and looked-down upon contest of the last 26 years.

Ronnie made it to number 8 and it would have been foolish to stop when he came so far.  He suffered some injuries and competed in great shape but was beaten by a younger, better conditioned Jay Cutler.  The same would have happeded between Haney and Dorian if Haney returned another year, and Dorian if he can back in 98.

You're the only one who thinks its worse than 2001/2002 and it was even close on the score cards ! Shawn Ray said he felt he got the place he deserved , no controversy just bitter people.  ;)

No !

ND, didn't Arnold lose to Oliva and then beat him later.  I may be mistaken, but I thought he lost once to the Oak.

on a side note, I am rewatching the 98 Olympia. It's amazing how much Ronnie has fallen off. Also, the field at the 2006 olympia was truly sad, nobody stood out at all. 98 was amazing.

Agreed Pobrecito, the competitors this year looked like ass. Anyone who thinks Jay is better than his 2001 form is delusional.  He was bigger, but he looked awful.  Ronnie was atrocious.  Worst I have ever seen a standing Mr. Olympia show up; Dorian in 1994 was a cut diamond compared to this turd.  I am disappointed that Ronnie had so many losers filling his head full of shit.  If he would have come into the show in condition at 275 he would have won.  Lights out for Team Coleman; I think I am joining the Team Vic squad as he looks like a Mr. Olympia in the making.

Arnold lost to Oliva at the 1969 Mr Olympia and beat him at the 1970 Mr World and Mr Olympia after that he never lost again !
