No Ronnie doesn't need surgery because there is no serious muscle tear. However the arthritis on his shoulder is causing him some serious problems. Maybe he will go under some therapy but no, no surgery.
I guess the bursitis he had on his left arm didn't help him as well this year.

Even ronnies "worst pose" for the day looks far better than Jay.  from the front it was no contest, from the back jay had a perhaps thicker and AS detailed back but NO where near the hams/glutes Ronnie did so I'll call it even and from the side Ronnie easily had the side chest.  The tri shot perhaps could have went to jay because of Ronnies in ability to hit the shot right (too tight).  Therefore Ronnie, with his better conditioning and separation should have won the show...ESPECIALLY being 8 x Mr.O.  If Haneys record wasn't gonna be broken Ronnie would have won.  Also, if we never saw either one of them until that day...EVER than Ronnie would have won.,  The 1 bad thing about being great is that you will always be compared to your best, not the competition.  just like the great Evander holyfield, he could beat a top ten fighter, but if he aint what he was when he beat Bowe people will say he sucks....such is the critic.

RONNIE COLEMAN..............9x MR.O.

NO, Figo, lol.  I'm saying that this show and Ronnie winning would have had historical significance had Ronnie won and THEREFORE the IFBB chose Jay to win and for the record to remain tied.  I truely do believe that Ronnie should have won this show.  Yes, jay was good and better than past, but it doesn't mean he should have won.  Ronnie is in another league, even with some anomalies...Jay isn't free of them himself.
Title: Re: Ronnie's Lat...
Post by: Figo on October 03, 2006, 01:19:04 PM
Yeah, anomalies is a pc way of saying it.

So, Ronnie comes in not looking Ronnieish enough, but still better than the rest, and they give it to the second best, so he dosnt make history in a less than stellar presentation of himself?

There is no lat tear. I think a shoulder problem prevented him from both training hard and flexing right when it came to the back. The lat doesn't look broke from behind, just smaller.

Slayer, is that pic for real.  :o :o  It looks like somebody whited out a piece of his latissimus.  Is that a photoshop job?  If not, my deduction that he was seriously injured are just.  Ronnie was not Ronnie this year.  Jay was good, but even you have to admit that when Ronnie is on he is from another planet.

if ronnie admits he tore something(even though he did) that would be the end of him. i remeber branch said that he tore his tricep  two years ago and got it re-attached.he said he refuses to tell anyone which arm he tore it on becuase people would be looking at that arm for mistakes.

If you zoom in to the picture you see that the hole in the right side is much larger. But there also appears to be a hole in his left side (in his back shots the right side looks normal). Did he rip both lats? or is he just posing with his arms unsually high? If you look at the back shots its the left side that looks atrophied. What is going on?

Not sure if fake, more like freaky.
Notice that people with BIG backs like Ronnie and Dorian had their back lose the round look. And it started to pop out of the shoulder width frame.Just like what we see here.

Here is a pic that shows the left one is the one he had problems with at the prejuding (almost none at the night show).

...that pic is strange.  Probably fake.  That being said Ronnie looked like his back was not what we're used to.

The only reason I wanted to see Ronnie win that title again was to ensure I was around during the reign of the most winning Mr O in history....he's tied, dominated in a way that Haney did not..that said, he could make history next year again.  But that TEN year Mr O prediction isn't going to happen...not with the way things turned out in Vegas.

Should be interesting to see.

I agree that pic was photo edited by someone trying to make Ronnie look like he has faults.

There is no way Ronnie is missing a chunck of his lat like that. Muscle usually atrophies....that pic my friend was an asshole photo editing it to make Ronnie look bad! Just like Flexonline taking those bad pics of Ronnie to make Jay look superior.

Im not knocking on Jay. I think he is great but Ronnie was robbed

Lift Studios posted a link to Ronnie's posing of the show. Youll notice that Ronnie's lats still look amazing and no chucnk was missing and neither was it atrophied

..the pic is fake, but just watch at the 6 minute, 5 second mark of his routine...you tell me THAT isn't an injury of some kind?

Watching this video, I have NEVER seen Ronnie look this off...and his routine was smoke and mirrors.

What a great presentation done by the organizers, the coolest stage in a long time, and awesome use of lighting and sound!

Ronnie's left lat has actually been torn for years, but it wasn't very noticeable before. Something happened during the last year to make it worse. I wouldn't be suprised if he injured himself doing one of those bullshit "t-bar rows" featured in his videos.

Wrong, the pic isn't fake and you can see it during the video.  Its just a freaky time to have captured it.  Its not that obvious until you watch it very closely.

Watch at 4:20 as he comes up, you see the strange shape appear and disappear.  Its only at a certain angle.

LOL man you got it mixed up,the right lat is all fine.Look how big and thick it is.
The left one is the smaller one.The shape of the right on is caused by the HUGE amount of muscle he have.

So it just pop out of the shoulder width lines, while his left lat dont.Dorian and a few others had the same look to their lats.

I guess if ronnie messes up the left lat he will be back in buisness then huh fellas? Man from I've seen his whole left side is smaller look at the back shots (from the shoulder down to the quad he is smaller on the left side). It might be some sort of condition. Does anyone know what it could be? I doubt he ripped every muscle in his left side.

Shoulder tendonitis. Difficult for him to train that side now.

At first I thought that was a stupid point but I have to admit that if you slow down the footage his right lat "hangs" as it normally should, causing it to look like a hole where it is inserted where as the left lat lacks that.  I don't know whether that has always been the case but it is extremely obvious when he goes into standing relaxed just after getting his wig off.

That being said, the "hole" is there.  Which is my point - it is not a photoshop, not that it is his problem.  I'm well aware of the fact that from the back it is clear it is the left lat that is smaller.  The hole is definitely strange though, but as I say it almost looks like it is created by the fact that lat extends out further, coming back in at insertion.

Yeah that what I meant, that isnt a bad thing.Check all the HUGE backs and you will see the same.
Dorian,Fux and others all have that look. When you get that big the muscle just spills out.

I heard that Ronnie coudn't flex his right lat properly because he pinched a nerve in there. Thus not being able to flex his best bodypart properly. Take nuclear bombs away from a super power and they're nothing, right?

You guys also should remember that Ronnie has a herniated disc that was never operated on.  From a few sources, he was experiencing alot more pain from that area during prep this year.  Herniated discs can lead to nerve damage which can atropy a muscle/one side of a body..

Guys, I'm a physiotherapist....look at Ronnies rear spread and you can see clearly the left lat is torn....it does not insert anywhere near where it should..note the gap underneath the armpit where the lat should extend to....note also the "ball" of muscle? displaced in comparison to the right side common with tears...left lat is gone even in rear double bicep..
