He seemed to take it straight out of your book - from the music, to the poses themselves
with only slight variations later in the routine.

They say imitation is the sincerest form for flattery.

Were you flattered or annoyed?

I like Darrem and his posing.
It was nice to see my work affecting so many of today's posers, as I was affected and influenced by those before me.
It was an honor.

you may have been an influence but several men have taken well beyond what you were able to do

Darrem posed to that routine a couple of years ago at the Bodyrock...much better there, IMHO.  I Still think Shawn's rendetion to "And I Am Telling You That I'm Not Going" at the '94 Olympia is among the top 2 or 3 routines that I have ever seen.  I was there, and to an 18-year-old wanna-be it was overwhelming!  The audience went nuts...even on the video, with the audience quieted down so we  could hear the announcers, the crowd enthusiasm was awesome!

Anyone got a link to that routine? (94 Olympia)

I agree but it the free posing doesn't get judged.So why bother????.

If they want someone to win, it is...  Remember Ronnie in 2001?  Behind after pre-judging, pulled ahead in posing round and posedown.

I wonder how other pro's feel if someone "uses" their signature moves.
I wonder if Melvin would be upset if a current competitor copied his
signature - bending backwards to horizontal position.
