Do these guys currently represent what is most attainable with the best genetics when it comes to putting pure muscle mass on a male frame? Are we currently looking at the largest a human will ever get with pure muscle - are there any possible advances that will take mass building to yet another level - we had Arnold\Sergio that took it to a level - then Dorian\Nasser now Ronnie\Jay\Ruhl have just blown it outta proportion - what's next. I truly feel that if a man's back is to wide he'll have problems wiping his own ass!!

When Darrem Charles comes in at 310lbs, then we're there.

I think the next thing we'll see is someone who comes along that's about Sean Allen's size (height) with the genetics of some one like Coleman or Oliva. BTW I remeber in some interview Oliva was saying that he told Dillet that if he let him train him, he would make sure he won 10 Olympias in a row!! Dam maybe Dillet should've trusted the old skool!!

prove you don't have to train to put on muscle using juice.

Yes, but that has stalled in recent years.
BBing changes, in it's standards and competitiveness, about every 10 years.
Arnold was around from 69-74, then it was the reign of Zane. After that, Arnold and Franco came back for their wins, which were again followed by smaller, aesthetic physiques. Then, for eight years, (1984) was Lee Haney. Another 6 (92-97)for Dorian and Ronnie (98-2005) for eight more years. When Sergio won, the bar was raised, as well when Arnold beat Sergio the next year. Then Haney came in, seemingly destroyed everybody. Dorian, raised that bar again, and Ronnie took it to yet another level. Then oblieterated his own level in '03.
It seems that the guys will never get bigger, but yet they do. Have we really seen the limit? I'd like to say yes, since we're now seeing a lot more side effects with the more often seen guts, muscle tears, and people retiring from health problems. But who really knows. Maybe in 10 more years, when we're all still around GetBig, we can find out.

You are absolutely right. Those side efects havent been seen that much before. But its increasing surely.

Now i have seen this picture many times before, but is this real. i have read about myostatin and understand how it works. but if this is a real result of myostatin i cant wait to see what happens when a human tries it. interesting!

Maybe Ruhl already does :D

No, more muscle can be added at the expense on waist and symmetry.

what's up with Jay's abs?

I say no....
just like half of the human population use about 1% of their brains capabilities

Does Sergio have a granddaughter we can mate with Ronnie?

I would like to think that we're at the limits, since to me, "pro" (drug-based) bodybuilding physiques peaked in the early 90's. Once the bloat and guts started becoming common, I became much less interested in following the scene. If they can synthesize drugs that help one to put on size without organ growth and keeps you dry and ripped better than in 80's, then certainly that would be a positive for those into that sort of thing, but based on the way these guys look now and have looked for well over a decade, I'm not terrifically optimistic. It seems there really is a thing as too much size, particularly when we look at how good many of the guys looked early on in their careers before they got really "big". I know it's a pipe dream, but I'd love to see everyone try to maximize themselves "naturally" (assuming OTC supplements are natural) so this way legitimate research into healthy supplementation would receive a bigger boost. As large as the supplement industry is today, one wonders where that would be along with bodybuilding as a whole if things didn't spiral out of control and frustrated and turn off large tracts of the public.

Until the next drugs come along
Quote from Patrick Arnold on SI.com today.
"There is a future beyond steroids and its gene doping," he said. "It's the next step. The only way it can be detected now is through a muscle biopsy, though they may be looking for blood markers. They are making great advances and how they keep that out of the hands of people with healthy muscles who use it for performance-enhancing reasons I don't know."
I would think gene doping could take it to the next level...
