Yeah you can see his eyes are all watery there as well but can't you blame him I mean he expected to break the all time record for olympia wins and walked away with second place.

its amazing that he was holding so much water given how drawn out his face looks.

most of the time, when bodybuilder's cheek bones are sticking out like Skeletor, they are in good condition.

I keep watching the 98O to get the bad taste out of my mouth. I still dont know if Ronnie was better in 98 or 99. He had more size in 99, but was drier in 98.

I think he might have been on some painkillers or antiinflammatories, but I haven't heard anything one way or the other, just my guess since he obviously had injuries. Those can mess with your water retention. Have you heard anything Hulkster?

He was fuller in 99 but not as sharp in 98 he was dry as it gets and looked fantastic , some pictures I think he looks better in 99 and others 98

When comparing the 98 Ronnie to the 93 Yates, Yates had no flaws. You look at him and didn't go wow, that looks really bad. With Ronnie the gyno and calves did ruin it to a slight extent. But from the rear, he was unbelievable.

look at dex in that pic, how his stomach sticks out further than his chest.  thats why the golden era up until the 80's were the best.  when the chest was out further than the stomach.  being a bb, pro at that you should have control AT ALL TIMES when you are on stage, thats just part of the game.  even if you gotta suck it in.  how much bigger would they look if the guts v-ed in too.  the v taper is supposed to be not only from the front, but the side as well.   ;)

A new Era, where the worst get first, best get go un-noticed. Jay and Ronnie deserved to be 4th and 5th. They were the worst I have ever seen them.

Yeah but eveyone knows that shyt aint gonna last that long - Jay can't keep his life style like that for too long - his lady is gonna be wanting some kids pretty soon. Big Ron needs to give it one more shot at Haney's title and call it quites after that!!! The Ronnie come back DVD's are being burned as we type ;D

Dorian Yates was the last great bodybuilder.  The guy is and was a warrior.  Jay Cutler is a dimwitted surf boy.  His waist is wider than his surf board.  The man has the aesthetics of a chimp.  No, this was a gift win.  Yes, he was better than Ronnie this day.  364 out of 365 days and a good decade belong to Coleman.  However, King Coleman got cocky and lost the throne.  The man who should have beaten him was Vic and even Dex.  If you think Dex has a big waist, what about that travesty called Cutler.  Please, Dorian should come back along with Coleman and relegate this clown to third place.  If the judges got serious, he would never win a show.

I highly doubt the 'bruthas' were upset for that reason ::)

Dexter and Ronnie are friends, so I think he would have just been sad for him. Plus, it is just the end of an era. I have never been a fan of Ronnie's physique but it was sad to see him not reach his goal of 9 wins.

i bet he will

The Grand Prix circut is on for the next few weekends.  It'll be interesting to see if Ronnie still comes in @ 300 or @280's, which is his best weight.  300 takes away whatever cuts and separation He brings in.  Allot  go over seas for the GP.  It's the best place to load up on gear for the next season.

Ronnie beat Ronnie. Shooting for 300 was as stupid as it was ridiculous.  Team Coleman fucked up - he should have looked like he did Saturday on Friday.  Jay had an opening and he played his cards right.  Now lets see if they keep driving the J-train.  I already heard Ronnie is NOT going to win the first grand prix.

throw out all the smack talk on here ... ronnie should never do these shows, losing four in 1 week to cutler will destroy his place in history.... maybe not to this generation of colemen fans , but 15 yrs down the rd the younger generation will see 4 losses and just basically lift yates, haney and arnie well above ronnie!

Bascially coming in heavier and heavier was to avoid the pain of dieting. If he's hungry enough after losing he'll do what has to be done to lose weight and regain a good physique.

Shooting for a weight when your not in the NPC is stupid.  Shoot for what LOOKS best not a number.  That being said, I believe Ronnie looks best lower in weight in the 280s based on his past showings.

dude to be true if ronnie had a back he would have won the show..i am still somewhat ronnies fan though..for eg at the olympia 2004 coleman was 296lbs and heavy as hell..but even being that big he still had an amazing back..for eg during challenge round when they did the back lat spread ronnies back still had alot of details than his 2006 showing..ronnie was massive no doubt but if he was a few pounds lighter for eg if he was 285lbs he would have won the show...jay cutler even being 10lbs heavier  than last year he still had all the details in his back...it was a tough call but the better man won..i am still shocked as hell that ronnie lost...i guess ronnie just missed his condition by a week...whne i first heard the news i was shocked as helll... :o :o :o.i hate to say this again that jay was the better man that night..sad ronster lost :'( :'( :'(

Hey John,

Do you think Ronnie should retire?

Knowing Ronnie, I'm wondering if he's trying to figure out the message God just gave him.  As I've said, Team Coleman fucked up and Jay took the shot.  Does Ronnie have one good one left in him? At 43?  Can he duplicate 98, 03, 04? Hmmmmmmmmmm.........  And what's wrong with his back/triceps on the left side?  As things stand today, and as they unfold over the weekend in Europe, I'd would just hate to see a champion as dominant as Ronnie end up going down in flames like Samir did for years after he won.  Ronnie should take his loss tonight and fuck the rest of the tour, go down to my ancestral home outside Naples and eat himself silly; then get drunk, rent a suit at the Villa Medici with a half a dozzen hookers and do his best to forget, for just a little while, that his reign as king is over and the rest of his life faces a new beginning.
