Title: ESPN - did they even watch the 'O?
Post by: PTB on October 05, 2006, 11:22:19 AM
A writeup of the sights at the Mr. O from an ESPN journalist.
The only highlight he points out is that Mike Tyson was at a Thermolife booth.

The article wasn't really about the O, mostly just Victor Conte.  I don't think they were trying to pass that off as Olympia coverage.

ESPN writes off bodybuilding due to the rampant steriod use.  Most sportswriters will cast all the blame for steroids in sports to competitive bodybuilding before blasting the pasttimes.  Baseball, football, and so on.  Most people dont see bodybuilding for the positives (nutrition, training, etc) just steroids and unusual lifestyles (Titus, women bbers, and a cast of others).

Yep, and for as long as there is people like this:

Things wont change much.

Your negativity breeds negativity.

Are you ashamed of bodybuilding?

True, I'm surprised how naived b.b fans can b around here....

the word "Olympia" doesn't ring a bell for anybody
thanks to Victor Conte and Mike Tyson (non b.b) it was mentioned on an steroid article.
