From MadMax: I just got off the phone with Jay and won by a long shot, he only posed once at the beginning and once at the end. He told me that he actually feels bad for Ron and that he seems to be taking defeat really hard. He was picking up some food and going back down to sell a bunch of merchandise. He'll call back later. Will keep you informed.

Back to the old "reigning champ wins again" crap that has been going on for the past 21 years. I thought they were going to start giving it to the best man of the day. I would have had Ruhl taking it with Jay and Ronnie who were both off fighting for second.
After seeing pictures of Ronnie this weekend, some of you who claimed he was off last weekend should be able to take back that statement.

Exactly. Jay was the better man then and proved it by beating Ronnie again @ the the gp fair and square. The Ronnie riders will claim Ronnie did not care and gave up due to polotics haha!

It appears one of two things takes place at the Grand Prix. Either they (the judges) award the 1st place trophy to whoever wins the Olympia, or the contest is held so close to the Olympia that there isn't a drastic change in a competitor's condition over a week's time. Thus, the same result. That being said, Jay Cutler has a long way to go before he's even mentioned in the same breath as Ronnie Coleman. Ronnie Coleman is perhaps the greatest Olympian of all time and I think will go on to set the record for most wins. Jay is dedicated and that is to be admired but Jay and the rest aren't even in the same league as Ronnie Coleman. Any pro will tell you that. Everyone has "off" years. Even Michael Jordan didn't win the ring every year despite being on a diff. planet from other NBA competitors.

In muscular shot Jay looks better but Ronnie has him on the double bicep back shot. Backs win that's why Jay got Ronnie in Vegas. Now...shoe on the other ft! I have Ronnie winning the 1st Euro show. IFBB is runned by old, clueless men.

Ronnie does look defeated on and off the stage a very sad time for a Great champion.Great to see the gentleman Eddie Abbew moving up this guy is always in great contest shape but like a lot of no names never judged to his potential.

Exactly. Jordan still found ways to dominate as he got older. He couldn't dunk like he used to, but he became a superior post player and shooter. Nobody owned Jordan.

The comments about Jordan being "owned" don't even really dignify a response. Let me put it this way concerning both Jordan and Coleman. You don't "own" the best of all time. Do you think Kobe winning a championship ring three years in a row made him better than Jordan? Get real. Same with Cutler. I'll give him credit for not giving up and sticking with it. However, he still has a horrible midsection, blocky body and is not that appealing to look at. He won these contests primarily due to the fact that Ron is obviously injured. Hopefully, he'll heal up soon and next year we'll see the real Ron back and ready to battle it out.

He looks nothing like he did 2000-2002. He won the Olympia by attrition, and nothing else. And a final thought on Jay....Taking everything else away, how the hell can you have a goddamn MR OLYMPIA that doesn't even have fvcking veins in his arms? Weekend warriors at the gym have more vascularity than him.

Ruhl's waist was the size of a 50 gallon barrel. He's really streamlined his waist compared to how it used to be.

I don't think Jay, even with wide shoulders to begin with, will ever top Ruhl's shoulder-to-waist ratio simply because Ruhl's shoulders are so overbearing.....almost too overbearing.

I'm not saying he doesn't. well I did but looking at those he kills Ruhl from the rear. Point is take 2006 Cutler against 1999 Coleman and Jay goes home in 2nd. The only reason he's Mr O today is because Ronnie finally got OLD. Which is to take nothing away from him, it just is what it is.

ronnie's now tied with Frank Zane and Chris Dickerson for losses AFTER becoming Mr. O (3 losses. but he has 4 if you count last year's retarded Challenge Round). only Samir Bannout has more, which is a lot cuz he competed heavily after his loss for a number of years.

Eddie Abbew was by far the hardest guy at the show. He looks shredded even under that poor lighting. All he needs is more size now and some better posing....

Top 6 for Abbew is a good placing. All the other competitors infront of him where "Olympians".
The first 5 places at the Austrian GP where stictly in the order like "the olympians" placed in Las Vegas.
For me (as a german) it`s good to see that whe have 3 guys (ok Dennis half American/half german, but live in Heidelberg/Germany)in the austrian Final + Markus gets his qualification for the next Mr. O.
Maybe Dennis or Ronny Rockel is able to do so at the dutch GP in Amsterdam ? If not, i believe they will get there qualification somewhere else in the next 12 Months (maybe Ronny at the australian GP).
Another answer at this GP was the placing of Fedorov. It looks like if he can`t get back in his alltime best condition that he had as an amteur. At his win at the IFBB european-champ. he looked incredible (MR. Olympia Top 6 material).

At the Olympia I thought Jay was bigger and wider, but I thought overall Ronnie looked better and more complete. This time around at the Grand Prix Jay walked away with this one hands down. I'm still a Ronnie fan, but I give credit where credit is due. Excellent job Jay!

Father time got Ronnie. That's about it! What else is there? He still looked better than Jay in one of the Euro shows...but the rule is clear that MrO isnt losing s##t early in his reign. It's not impossible that he could make a run in 2007...but the judges will give it to Jay no matter what. Isnt that the O rule? Havent gone anywhere. In fact look forward to seeing Ronnie and Alti at the Bayou Classic, Southern vs Grambling. He hasnt had time for that in yrs. The best, most muscled MrO ever! Like many I'll miss classics such as yeah buddy, light weight, nothin but a peanut and so on. So....where have we gone? Jay will get the dollars he has always wanted. Better take MT to the cleaners while he has the leverage.

Ron looks much better in the back and side. It's easy to see with a yr off and some healing he is a bigger man than JAy and could beat again. As noted...should have won 1 of the 3...but Jay will benefit....just like Haney, Yates and Ronnie did. The only difference is he isnt as dominate as the previous 3.

...Ronnie's gonna have to wait another year to give it his all. That inbalance in his back is really hurting him, but his legs are as big as ever.
After Jay taking the Gran Prix, he'll have to do everything right for next year. However, he's been doing that all along, so it shouldn't be new to him.
Ronnie still has what it takes, but if he comes in anything less than stellar next Mr O, then that's it. However, a part of me did want to see Haney's record actually broken...and perhaps a new one by Ronnie taking 10.
It sure makes me wonder about how many, myself included, believed the unstoppable Ronnie hype...like it could go on forever!...it obviously has not, nor will it....next year's Mr O will be the final show for Ronnie if he loses. If he wins, I'm sure he'll take another shot to make TEN...should be interesting.
