I actually found that movie enjoyable. Laughable, but enjoyable. It's great they re-released the movie on DVD with Arnold's real voice. :D

the first muscle magazine i ever bought had schwarzenegger on the front in his commando get up holding up the rocket launcher (i think), biceps popping. i was just a kid, but damn i wanted to look like that, so much so i bought the magazine.
anyway, last action movie looked so lame i've never even watched it so i'd go with that. arnie should have done more bad guy roles ie terminator 1.

Pretty much; a couple of great movies = $. Action movies like those doubled their take at least, overseas.

A lot of his crap action fare from the 80's is still enjoyable to watch, like Red Heat, Commando, Raw Deal, Running Man, Total Recall maybe a bit better than the others. I didn't care for Last Action Hero or Batman and Robin, and I refuse to watch Jingle All the Way or Junior. Twins and Kindergarten Cop weren't so bad. His 90's choices weren't too popular but they are all watchable. Eraser probably being the best of the bunch. End of Days was solid.

No I didn't mind Collatoral Damage either, I guess if you have the taste for that type of movie, you're gonna like most of Arnold's movies, like me. A lot of people don't and get real picky about his movies. You have to be an action fan.

Arnold even joke about HERCULES IN NEW YORK as his big "fish out of the water" in the movie industry. it's really one to forget. Hey, everybody starts somewhere.
Terminator 1, 2, 3, true lies, commando, Total recall, Eraser were his top grossing movies. all totalling 1.3 billion worldwide

I have every movie of Arnolds.
I personally think Stay Hungry, The Villain & Hercules in Newyork....are the 3 worst movies....but in all fairness....he was still a budding actor.
Red Sonja by far is worse than the 3 above. He had a few films under his belt, we knew he could act, but blew this film. I think B.N. was the prime reason. Her & Arnold just didn't connect & the script was poorly written.
An honarable mention that most people never see..."The Jayne Mansfield Story".....honestly...not his finest work....but....you can tell from this movie there was a huge star on the horizon. I really liked his role in this movie & he did a real good job with it.

In terms of his action movies, my fave is T2. It's a classic, I liked it better than the first.
I think the movies get worse the lower in rating that they get. Jingle All The Way did nothing for me. But then again, I was like 13 or 14 when I saw it, so I was probably all "this is gay, let's go hang out at the food court" before it even started.

Have to go with Predator: state of the art, just about flawless. First Terminator's close because of the rawness-low production budget/no-frills, with an obscure director he lucked on to named James Cameron. Cameron was the turning-point for Arnold's movies.
T2's close to the original, although in many ways a copy.

This is for those who didn't know.... Art Zeller and his wife, Josie, are in Terminator 2. Here's the scene - when Arnold is strolling The Galleria mall searching for John Connor look carefully and you'll see that during his search Arnold purposely bumps into Josie with Art Zeller by her side. Kinda funny.... :D

Anyone ever see that movie he was in after Hercules called "A long Goodbye"? He just has a bit part where he's a thug for the bad guy, but there is a scene where he takes his shirt off in the movie that cracks me up. When he takes his shirt off for some reason doing so causes him to bounce his pecs around for absolutely no reason...that scene just makes me laugh.

Yeah, it's a pretty good episode, I happened to catch it twice on tv. Arnold lifts weights in his apartment and works at a beer distributer and loses his job cause he out works everyone and his apartment because of the clanging weights. This girl in college is doin a paper on weightlifters or something and follows Arnold around to get info for her paper, well at one point she start goofing on him for being so big and walking like an ape, well Arnold crumbles under the stress and flips on her and shakes her so hard her neck breaks and he is afraid to turn himself in which is where it gets exciting. I think that mostly sums it up.

I got all 3 of the old Batman movies as a gift last year and Arnold is atrocious in the 3rd one.....lots of corny one liners, things like "ICE to see you"..not that exactly but along those lines...it was terrible. How they coudl do that to the Batman movies is horrible, they were bigtime cash cows, why not put some quality into them?

No question that "Hercules In New York" was so bad that it has become somewhat of a favorite. It was his first movie and that alone makes it special. Arnold and I had a brief conversation about it at Muscle Beach Venice on Labor Day and he recalls it with some enjoyment.

On Beverly Hills Cop she did quite a few of the guys on that show, including my friend. Sly would show up on set and stay there and amke sure she didn't talk to no one. During Over The Top she woke up the owner of a fancy jewelry shop at the Hilton where we were staying to do a late night shopping spree. She is somethign else

Hehe, yes! Red Sonja, RAw Deal, Red Heat...fun too. I didn't like the nudity (Linda Hamilton) in Terminator though. The sex scene was unnecessary. Coulda been implied rather than graphic bs.

I respect your opinion but I thought, from a non-perverted point of view, it was an important part in the film. The film surrounds the 'retroactive abortion' attempt by the terminator and it's hard for me to see how they could've implied the conception of John Connor without showing a sex scene that I felt had significant part in the story.

The film surrounds the 'retroactive abortion' attempt by the terminator and it's hard for me to see how they could've implied the conception of John Connor without showing a sex scene that I felt had significant part in the story.
LOL, like I said they coulda IMPLIED it. No nudity necessary....

Yeah.... That was the only part I didn't like. Kinda felt like it ruined the movie - but I still liked it.
i would say that everypart of the movie was awesome.the best scene is that when arnold goes for shopping for the toy and there is al chaos in the mall...and abit of trivia about jingle all the way is that it was shot in spring season,so all the snow you see in that movie is fake...it was actually very warm when that movie was made.

I know to see if it was actually cold where filming takes place in a movie is to simply see if 'smoke' is expelled from the actor(s) mouth when they talk. But that's a no-brainer....

Now that it is looking certain the Arnold WILL BE winning a second term as Governor in a few more months, the Austrian Terminator himself will not be returning for a cameo role in TERMINATOR 4, according to the film's scriptwriter.
MICHAEL FERRIS, who co-wrote the project with JOHN BRANCATO, has terminated rumors the California Governor was set to make a short appearance at the beginning of the movie as reported by TheArnoldFans.com. Although this was the original plan, the script needed another rewrite based on Arnold's political career.
He says, "TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES kind of closed the book on Schwarzenegger, as did his gubernatorial career."

actually i read this in the papers that the production of the has not yet started.the script is ready and the director is waiting for arnold to finish up his politcal work..so yeah who the hell knows..

I was actually kind of disapointed when I went to see T3 in the theaters. I though it lacked those crazy machines and the story could have been better. Remember in t2 when they have all those terminators fighting on whats left of the earth? Well I was hopping to see that battle. With Arnold recruited in an underground facility, briefed on his missions, bombs, lazers, bullets all over the place.. stuff like that and some boobies wouldn't hurt.

Imagine if Arnold played someone involved in the war that was a great hero or villian and that's why the look was choosen for the T101.
Cause he is old and it would be hard to get back to terminator size.

T2 had much better acting. EF did seem like a little bratty kid....but that was the whole point. Arnold seemed like a better Terminator in T2 & in T3 he was not believable (IMO). The terminator in T3 (arnold) should have walked in that bar & kicked ass for his clothes just like the first 2 movies. That opening scene alone made me feel the rest of the movie was going to suck. The chase seen in T3 (firetruck vs crane truck) was soooo much B.S. Even if two Terminators existed (had the eye/hand coordination of a computer) that crane could not have flipped like it did & all of the other b.s. involved. The chase scene in T2 just seemed more believeable like it could have happened between two Terminators.
The terminatrix sucked. She didn't seem "bad" enough. Ok...she killed alot of people but if she was designed to destroy other terminators....how did Arnold prevail?

I see your point, Knny187. You're totally right about Arnold's portrayal of the terminator from T2 to T3. He was better in T2. As for the action? Well.... If you're comparing side-by-side like that T2 does come out better.

Yeah, Star Wars was great as well but Back To The Future was superior due to its all-round balance (like a great physique almost). Hard to find films these days with everything: smarts, warmth, humour & heart.

Of all of Arnold's films his most notable ones are Conan the Barbarian and The Terminator. Both are great films and put Arnold on the map. Conan has those memorable line(s) and gore yet The Terminator has the action and nudity [sorry The GoldenPrince :P] Of the two, I personally would have to go with none other than The Terminator! 8)

The T2 story was fat, far more structure, the acting was better, the SFX were way better (for its time), the casting was better.
T3 was just trying to recreate T2 all over again and pull the same from the box office with no real attempt at anything new. The story was not well thought out at all.
Id like to see a Terminator movie about the Human vs Machines war after Judgement Day.

You see, that's what I thought too. I'm one for action which is why I was thinkin' T3 was better than T2 simply because of, well, the action. But as I've said before, when it came right down to it T2 was better overall. But neither T2 or T3 can touch the original Terminator. 8)
