I typed 5'8 because last time I typed 5'9 all the haters claimed he was 5'6. When I met him he looked somewhere between 5'8 and 5'9 (closer to 5'9). You are correct.

Jay is a legit 5'8. When he started getting popular they started listing him at 5'9. They did the same thing with Ronnie who is 5'10 and when he won his 1st O he became 5'11. Take a look at any old Flex mag and you'll see.

Funny you should say that with a picture of sergio olivia as your avatar. Jay has great bi's. They guy is completley offseason and about 300 lbs at 5'8. With better condition then half this board during the summer. Yeah, not impressive at all ::)

That video looks like it is in .9 aspect ratio, which would make it squatty. You can see Jay stretch out when the camera goes sideways.
Internet video is 1.0 aspect ratio.
He's still thick as heck, though.

He ate some undercooked fish a little over a week out, and lost 12lbs with food poisoning.
Like Dorian, Ronnie, or anyone in that situation, he never mentioned it, and got himself ready for the show.
But, from people I know who saw him leading up to the O, he was insane looking.
This info isn't from Jay, so I'm only standing by it's accuracy as second hand info.
In my opinion, Jay is the most impressive bodybuilder in person by far.

this is true, the video is definitley scaled to accent width. But he is still huge.

This is one of the most untrue statements that keeps being made all the time these days.
If you look at the judging criteria, how can you say they are not following it? Just because someone looks more pleasing to you or others, (aesthetics) doesn't mean they are the winner. You may think so, but according to the judging criteria which is muscularity, symmetry and condition, Jay is the clear winner. If you actually look at the definition of those words, how can you say that he is not? Aesthetics has nothing to do with winning a show because that simply defines how pleasing someone's look is to you.

jay cutler looks a big pile of dog SHHH....
he has no genetic structure, his abs are too blocky and ugly, his obliques and waist muscles are way too developed making his waist too wide, and a weird chest, and the guys face is always bloated, here it looks extra bloated but even when hes in contest shape his face looks as round as a moon.
ronnie coleman at his worst is better than jay cutler at his best. period.

In my opinion, Jay is the most impressive bodybuilder in person by far.
He had a stomach virus exactly 2 weeks before the O and it last a whole 7 days, he could not retain any food and had to be hook up to an IV to not dehydrate completely, fortunately 1 week before the show he was back to normal and we all know the rest of the story, 2 weeks before the show, he was still 290 and peeled.

The only reason why he won is because Ronnie screwed up big time. Ronnie came in at his absolute worse, and Cutler came in at his absolute best, and the Jay's absolute best is better than Ronnie's absolute worse. Ronnie could have come in even in his horrid 2004 shape and he would still have defeated Cutler with straight-firsts scores. :-\

Bitter? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! If you were around the boards longer, you'd know that I'm not exactly a Ronnie fan. ;) However, I'm reasonable enought to realize that Cutler is simply not the caliber of bodybuilder that Ronnie is.

I got cha man! You're exactly right in this statement. Jay isn't pleasing to look at for some of you but he looks fucking awesome to some people also. He looks awesome to the people who matter most- the judges. And his fan base is probably bigger than anyone except Ronnie's maybe. Based on that, I'd say that more people like his physique than don't. Stand any iron age or fitness model physique next to him and they will look like a child. Based on the judging criteria, he is the best in the world right now and that's all that matters to him.
