Title: Listen to JPM
Post by: Cap on January 16, 2007, 04:34:38 PM
I have been doing power moves almost exclusively for the past two weeks and have gained two pounds consistenly and they have stayed.  My shirts are fitting tighter and I have never been so sore.  Power cleans, push presses, DLs, Squats, Weighted Dips, CG bench, bench and incline are making a difference.  Listen to this guy for sure.

Seriously.  Although I have trained for a while now, I think basics are what I needed all along.

It's easy to get caught up in the game of five hundred different angles and machines etc but let's say you're chest isn't coming along, it's not gonna get better just because you start doing cables you know.

Basics as a foundation, THEN mix with other stuff for variety.

Ya.  I'm doing two chest moves for now.  Flat and incline for 6-7 sets each.  That's it.  Hard and heavy.

You on da juice, cap? 2 pounds in 2 weeks sounds like alot if the only thing you've changed is your training.

Naw, just eat every time I can and when I'm hungry.  I graze all day.  i'm only using creatine, whey and a whole lotta home cooking.

People usually gain size when they change their programs.  Change is key.

Exactly!  JPM does have good advice!  A workout of deep squats, dead's, push press, cleans, chins and dips will have ya bigger and thicker in no time!

Squat and deads kinda goes without saying. I'm a fan of dips myself and don't see that many at the gym taking that exercise seriously.  :)

weighted dips in good strict form are awesome!  At times, I prefer em over regular pressing!
