Well the cricket bat has sharper edges, but the baseball bat has more mass and 'meat' behind it...  seeing as how I've never beat anyone down with a cricket bat (yet) and have given two baseball bat beatings in highschool, I'm gonna have to go with the good 'ole Louisville Slugger ;)

What was O'Bannon carrying around with him in 'Dazed and Confused'?

You got to ask D tothe P muthafkn davidpaul this one.

He used to carry around a Louisville Slugger up in his ride back in the day. He used it on a couple 'slobs' one time.

I was watching Shaun of the Dead, and he uses a cricket bat in that, which got me thinking about it's zombie fighting qualities. It's got one big flat side and then edges, not as easy to get a good hard swing on though as a baseball bat.

You walk anywhere with a cricketbat and you're sure to get beat up

you have to worry about angles with a cricket bat. do you want to use the flat end or the edge? and then you have to make sure you're holding it right. with a baseball bat you just grab and go.

Cricket bat has larger striking area.

That larger striking area spreads out the impact, making it less effective than the more concentrated baseball bat.

The wider surface area of the cricket bat is also subject to more drag, which would decrease the bat head speed.

Throw in Magoo's point, and it's:

Baseball bat all the way.

baseball bat no question. pick it up any way you want, even pick it up upside down and issue beat down with the handle.

a cricket bat will still suffice in an emergency. however its constructed from two pieces of wood; the handle and the blade. the handle is much lighter and not well suited for human flaying. also being 2 pieces its more susceptible to water damage and breakage in general.

Baseball bat, no question about it. The flat sided part of the cricket bat wont hurt nearly as much. With a baseball bat, u avoid this problem altogether. I'd say hockey stick is better than both.

I'm curious because they used a cricket bat in Shaun of the Dead and a baseball bat in Dawn of the Dead, and when that zombie Armageddon comes, oh and it IS coming, which weapon will YOU choose?

That is an awesome book. Although it seems to advocate swords and crossbows a lot more than the traditional baseball bat.

I dunno exactly, Dawn of the Dead, but a baseball bat always seems to be the stereotype.

Shaun is a British movie and they don't play a lot of baseball over there. I agree with the baseball bat being more effective due to the lack of drag and technique required to use it. You have to have a cricket bat the right way around to administer a good beating and you are in trouble if the grip twists.
