clancy passed recently , it's a shame as he had just come back into the public's eye just recently in a newspaper article. he was truly one of the early greats along with jcg, steve reeves and george eiferman.he has now joined them in that big gym in the sky. pic is of an old comic book ad.

Wow.
I was just going to send him some dumbells...apparently, up until a few days ago, he was alive.
One of the true remaining legends.
I believe he was the oldest remaining Mr. America....and I feel he would have been a great one today....massive size and proportion for his day.
Hope he had a good life.

early may both ironhistory.com and ironage reported his death clancy provided a legacy at the old age home where he died, much money and equipment were donated by ironage.com when they found out the facility where clancy resided was practically devoid of equipment. clancy was pumping iron till the end. it's true now all the aau mr americas from 1939-1949 are no longer with us.

i guess that leaves roy hilligen as the oldest living former aau mr america he won the title in 1951 and was born in 1922. i believe he's still in jail for a crime of passion {seinfeld ref} bill pearl would be next winning in 1953.

A shame about Clancy.
I believe Roy was recently released. Turns out he has spent more time in prison in his life than out
