Title: Workout Routine for Woman?(Help)
Post by: XFACTOR on July 05, 2008, 12:44:12 PM
Sorry to raid your board here ladies but my wife has asked me for a workout routine.  About the only thing I know and understand pertain to gaining muscle.  This is not her goal.  Looking for toning and moderate weight loss.  Preferable a 5day split with cardio days included.  I appreciate any help.

I'd be happy to help you out in exchange for you stopping your assinine remarks about me on the G&O.  :)

Is she a beginner in the gym, or does she train?  Does she eat clean or crappy?

Take a look at these threads for starters:

Thanks so much. I do all cooking in the house so she follows my diet, which is really good.

Well that's good.  That's the hard part.  In the gym, set her up with a sort of circuit training type thing.  For three days a week, she can hit chest/shoulders/triceps one day, back/biceps/abs one day, and lower body one day.  A second lower body/ab day could be added for a fourth day.
Cardio should be done 3-5 times a week depending on how much she needs to lose.  I prefer 30-45 minutes, moderate/high intensity and intervals.

Keep reps in the 10-15 range, but make sure she works hard for those reps.

Good stuff Rip. I have her following this exact model now.  Poor thing can't walk as she did my leg workout first thing.

Do you reccomend ECA stack?  Also how many cheat meals do you do a week?  If any.

LOL take it easy on her at first so that she doesn't quit!

ECA stacks are pretty effective, if she can handle it.  I personally can't hang with ephedrine.  You can check out the Nutrition and Steroid boards for alot of info on ECA stacks, and the Fat Burner thread on this board for info on other kinds of fat burners.

It depends on how tight her diet is, but a good cheat meal once a week should be totally fine for someone who isn't in a race against the clock to lose weight or anything like that.  It helps keep the body guessing and can boost metabolism.  But just ONE meal... not a full day.  :)

P.S.  In terms of cheat meals, here are a couple of my favorite...you can mix it up and have a morning cheat one week and a night cheat the next week.  These work really well in terms of filling you out and jump-starting your metabolism if you are following a nice, clean diet.

---Big greasy spoon diner breakfast - coffee with cream, juice, pancakes and syrup (go ahead and have chocolate chip ones or a strawberry waffle or whatever), eggs and homefries, bacon/sausage

---2-3 cocktails, big fatty steak or rack of ribs with baked or mashed potatoes loaded up with the fixins and a reasonable desert

I would KILL someone for either one of those meals right now.   ;D
