I looked my best ever but placed 4 out of 5th in the teen class ! Fucking pathetic

I retired from bodybuilding and I won't compete again, that brought me back to reality !
didn't really expect to win but 4th place is fucking shitty

now I will just train for fun and try to gain muscle mass  :)
and if I decide to do a show again, it won't be until like 10 years of off season  :o

good night people I am going to sleep

don't think so Chaos.

For me, there is no reason to compete if you know you don't have a chance to win.
4th place in a teen class = shitty physique

if I can't even place well in a teen class, I will place even worst in the open because it's a huge step between the 2.

so, off-season from now on and I'll just gain muscle mass. My woman deserves a little bit of attention for now too because she was really nice the whole prep, she didn't complain about anything and I appreciate that a lot.

Quit whining bro, get some rest, collect you thoughts, make up your mind in a few days after you have settled down, if you still feel this way in a week, call it a career and move on..........

this bodes well for you, actually.

you will not peak for many, many years.

you will have an entirely diff bod in 10, 20 yrs

took me three yrs to get one trophy, 10 years to win a show

I hate when people say they should have place higher, so I won't say that.

If they placed ahead of me, there was certainly a reason.

I hope this doesn't comes across as I am whinning, because I am not really bothered by that. It's just that in bodybuilding, you got it or you don't.

no problems about that with me, I'll be perfectly happy just lifting for fun  :)

Stavios I dont blame you man, you have an awesome physique and your a pretty good looking guy, to be honest, I would stay lean but lose a lil' muscle and do some modeling. Atleast with that you'll make some money and wont put your body through the rigors that you currently are with your drug regimine at a ripe age of 19. In the end, I doubt the drugs you put in your body was worth a 4th place finish.

I think  you have an awesome physique too. And dude, u dont need validation that you have a good physique from a bunch of schmoes and pedophiles who were in the audience at the show you did. The months of hardwork you put in dieting and the sweat you dropped in the gym is plenty. Who gives a fuck is u placed fourth. You brought your body to a place where it has never gone before. Congrats dude.

Stavios, cmon you know you dont have a shitty physique. You're still better than 99 percent of the population and you have awesome genetics. You need to keep competing, you have to much talent not to. It's only one show and it's still a very competitive field so 4th place is not bad. I have always said you are a true champion.

Just bad luck man. You looked good from the pictures you posted. Sounds like you are competing against some serious teens. Usually the teen classes in the states aren't very competitive. My friend got himself into a simmilar situation as yourself. Just compete for fun. It is all fun in games in the end.

It's probably smart to give up now.  Your dreams will only be crushed even further if you compete again.  Also, now that your girl has seen you badly beaten, she will probably want to dump you and try to get with the 1-3rd place guys.  Might as well start hitting on a few porkers now...the early bird gets the worm.

crazy muscle shape and proportions !!! I'll post his lat spread when I have a picture  :o

he will be a lot better in 2 months without his trainer who didn't know shit on how to get him full, Kevin was flat as a board but still looked awesome enough to qualify for the nationals
Title: Re: Stavios
Post by: Alex A on July 06, 2008, 10:05:54 PM
Stavios you competed in a good show.

At the big shows, such as the nationals here in the USA,  everyone is pretty darn good,  so the difference between a first and fifth place physique is not that major.  Placings are subjective and can go either way.

I hear you as far as being frustrated with the outcome.  I compete to win myself.

I can honestly say, you worked your ass off, dieted hard, and didnt bitch about either one. And were in the best condition of your life so far

You have no control over placings.. I have been to many shows and have seen all kinds of lets say "unusual" placings, dont get too down on yourself. ( easier said than done) but  hey bro, im not calling it from the sidelines, i compete in the sport and know first hand

You were in great shape, you just need to fill out more for your height, you know that  It takes some time, and you will work on that.. have some good food, spend some time with your girl, your family etc.

I know your passion, once you really think about this, your going to train heavier, stay tighter off season and work on filling out your teenage body.. Bro this was not your best.. It was your best look to date,  way far from your best. Your best is yet to come

you have many years ahead.  Use this experience to motivate you to be better..

You really should find out how to contact the judges.   Email them, listen to what they have to say and lets put a plan into effect immediately for next year.  Shows are won in the off season. Keep your head up, and focus on next year..

4th place doesn't seem too shabby, but it was out of 5 competitors :-\

Plus he is 20 and in the teen class, meaning he conceivably should be more advanced than the younger guys.

4th place doesn't seem too shabby, but it was out of 5 competitors :-\

Plus he is 20 and in the teen class, meaning he conceivably should be more advanced than the younger guys.

I'm not bashing, I think hes got a awesome physique, just not gonna lie to make him feel better

I don't see it that way. The way I see it is that he didn't come last and only 3 guys beat him. 3 is nothing. He actually did pretty damn well!

I don't care if he placed 5/5...his physique can go up against any teens in the states.  Damn, the competition up there must be tuff, I know from experience, that he would've placed well at the Teen Nationals.  ;)

It's usually legs and back that mean a low placing , if your condition is good. That's why the dudes with abs and chest often get told 'you're the champ' but it doesn't always happen for them.

Dude im not gonna tell him he did well, because he himself knows he didnt.  Just throwing a differing opinion out there.

He needs more time to put on size, plain and simple.  Im not trying to bash him, im agreeing with him.

Stavios looks fantastic, kind of pitiful that a build like his can't finish higher, seems like they reward the thicker blockier bodytypes, congrats on competing dude.

sorry about your placing Stav, I know you feel down in the dumps now....but you looked great IMO, and improved from the year before.

Now, you just have to go out and use that ripped body to score some hott poon.  Take them back to the crib, and talk your old lady into a three-way or a four some.   Guaranteed to make you feel better

Let's see the pics. I can't believe that he was beaten by 3 fridges. Bodybuilding judging criteria is pretty simple really: in most cases the guy with the most muscle and the best condition combo wins. This is why some don't understand how Dorian blew the rest away.

seem to be a great guy with class physique. criqique though if your legs matched your upperbody it could have been so different.

I feel your pain brother....

Last time I competed I came 3rd out of 4 people. I was so pissed I smashed my trophy and deleted every pic I had of the comp (even had a meltdown thread on here about it  ;D). But its just the nature of the sport...  Remember how sick Alex A looked last year and I think I'm right in saying he didn't even get a call out.....

You have a class physique and to think if you keep adding to it for another decade you'll only be 30, well thats just scary to think what you might look like!

Excellent post, and yes NZMM you did melt on here ;D

Stavios thing being you are so young. Few more years, especially focusing on balance, major improvements can be made and since you look great right now anyway that will be huge. You can keep progressing and by time you are 25, not to even mention 30 the improvements will be so vast while you are still relatively young competitive wise. Like NZMM said, sometimes it is luck of the draw also. Either way you go competiton wise you look far better than most of the population ever will anyway 8)

lol, wow, Thats funny.

So Stav where you planning on doing Nationals in sept.? Keep your head up some of these teens get some serious growth at 19-20 maybe you will have a nice off-season and surpass them. A lot of IFBB pros didn`t even start competing until late 20`s. I also live in Canada and I have seen teens win there class in the open mens division (some are that good), usually in the lighter cat. so just take it as a positve learning experience. 8)

These days, so-so, for me.  To think you have no weak points, is foolish.  My quads could be bigger, chest bigger, smaller waist, wider back, lower lat inserts, unbalanced arms.
List goes on and on, I guess..hahah

Better to take gear for cosmetic purposes.. You know; to run around in a expensive leased car you don't need lookin all jacked, sporting $400 shades to boot  ;D hahaha

Cometing is a waste of time. You should train to look good, and if you're gonna juice, do it to look good and not because you wanna get oiled up for other men to see

not to mention juicing for vanity purposes has less chance of "but i have to try a higher dosage, the judges said if i added five pounds i'll win next year!!" far greater chance of cycling heavier than you want and sacrificing health when you'd prefer not to when it's in the pursuit of a trophy.

competing drives up drug usage because everyone wants to edge out the other guy. stick to just doing it for your own purposes and at least you can say "hey i look good now, why fuck up my organs?"

Don't forget that when you compete you not only use AAS, but also drugs to rid the body of water and massive amounts of stimulants. These other drugs are probably worse than steroids themselves. Plus a lot of body builders self medicate themselves with tons of recreational drugs and alcohol due to the stress of dieting and frustration due to lack of progress and strained relationships.

Don't get me wrong, I respect Stavios and his physique, but think that him not competing = a good thing.

Hey Steevios!

Was up dude? My friend, the jacked dude from the other thread went to see the show.. it was a last minute kind of deal.
If I would have known then I would come along too.

Keep training for the right reasons.. it will be worth it in the end.

I don't believe the dudes competing at the canadian shows are good or better then you. Heck even the american ones are laughable.

Do it with respect and integrity and you will wipe then out soon enough.  8)

Stavios i think iv placed lower then i should have been in past shows, even had a head judge that judged my show telling me i should have won the overall, yet placed 2nd.  Some guys win shows early on in their careers and some win shows later on in their careers.   Take a few years off, build up your overall frame, and compete again and see how u do.

As i said before stavios, you are just in an extremely tough class. Most of the teens in the states are no where near that level, even at teen nationals. Just keep hitting the weights and try to get stronger. Try to do heavy work with low reps. I usually only do 6 sets per muscle group in the offseason and i go as heavy and slow as possible. Just something to think about.

Stavios don't be too hard on yourself dude. . . i placed 4th once too at teen nationals. That was a very good teen class you were in. You have a great frame with good insertions, lines and shape. It's all there. . . you just need to slowly add size. You'll be just fine. One teenage show doesn't make or break you.
