A guy at work brought me the DVD boxset and said I "had to watch it" and it gave him goosebumps. Is it really that good? I don't want to waste 10 hours.

COPYMARKET @ china is awesome, for US$100 you can like: Xfiles boxset + simpsons boxset + oz boxset(i bought this one including spic subs) + national geographic boxset, all of them dvd quality, nice boxes, 100 dvd/cd each one lol.

I watched it when it aired on HBO and didn't hesitate to preorder the box set. The disc with the documentary interviewing the actual surviving soldiers had me choking back tears.

Yeah, I'm glad to see someone here appreciates The Wire. Although it is difficult to place it ahead or behind Band of Brothers. They both have their strong qualities.

The fact that's it's 10 hours is a good thing once into it, since it's addicting once hooked. Something like Saving Private Ryan in some ways, same producers. But less downtime, more focused on the front.

It's based off the movie City of God, based in Rio. Takls about the drug trade in Brazil's favelas, movie is good, rent it, but it is in Portuguese with English subtitles.

If i remember right, it's a bunch of interviews with them. It's good. Joe Toy shows (i think it's him) you where he lost his leg at in the forrest outside of foy.

Tom Hanks Returns to Duty for HBO’s New WWII Miniseries
Tom Hanks is once again teaming with HBO in a miniseries about World War II.
This time around, Hanks and Steven Spielberg-who previously delivered the likes of 2001′s “Band of Brothers” and 2010′s “The Pacific” to the channel-will create a miniseries that will focus on the Air Force, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The article states that the series will “explore the aerial wars through the eyes of enlisted men of the Eighth Air Force — known as the men of the Mighty Eighth.”
The series will be based on Donald L. Miller’s nonfiction book “Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany.”
Both “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific” drew critical raves when they hit HBO, winning a bevy of awards for the big-budget projects.
