Found this for you. It's about the abdomen but I would think it applies to all muscles?

they are made of different muscle fibers
very slow twitch since they are always used
and like serge nubret says, they NEVER burn out no matter how much you train them
and they don't get MUCH bigger than they already are
;)

So you don't think ab muscles atrophy like every other muscle in your body?
Your arms, legs, chest, back, etc can all shrivel up and go away and you'll still have ripped abs?

SINCE.......having abs is a function of bodyfat and not how much muscle there is
yes you will still have abs......I mean I will still have abs :D

Abs can grow and shrink like any other muscle.
Muscle atrophy probably starts taking place within a few days. Within a couple of weeks of not working out, you'll see the difference.
