Title: Journey to a Better Me: Week 1

Perhaps this is a bad idea... the little voice resonates within my head. Even though this is only virtual reality - it still is a reality and words can hurt; self-esteem and a positive attitude can be deflated as quickly as a dart popping a balloon. I don't really care that people know my name, I don't make an effort to hide who I am -- but that doesn't stop me from thinking, perhaps this is a wrong decision. My thoughts might be misconstrued; I'm not here for pity or recognition but to share my story, one day and week at a time as I struggle through the physical and mental challenges awaiting me as I head for the finish line.

I don’t have a strong logical reason why I am doing this, but perhaps it is best served as personal motivation – a reminder of what I need to accomplish each day. Seeing as I don’t have any format in which to properly present all the details, I’ll simply just jot down all I can. I hope someone might enjoy the read, or at least get a chuckle or two. Pictures will be forthcoming.
Today my diet has consisted of
½ rice cracker, unflavoured (big mistake getting the unflavoured, don’t know what I was thinking)
1 large apple
1 ½ cups of mixed grain cereal, 1 ½ cups of milk

Later:
1 can of tuna, 2 thin slices of rye bread, 2 tbsp of light mayo
3 eggs with mixed cheese, 2 tbsp of chunky salsa
1 ½ cups of instant white rice, 2 tbsp of chunky salsa
1 pork chop cubed (mixed into the rice)
1 chicken breast sandwich (fast food, but it’s cheap and readily available outside the gym as a quick pick-me-up to pair with my protein shake after 2 hours in the gym)
Workout:

Biceps :
Curls - 5 sets of 12 at 20 lbs.
Preacher Curls – 5 sets of 12 at 20 lbs.
Ez-Bar Curls – 5 sets of 12 at 50 lbs.

Biceps/Forearms:
Hammer Curls – 3 sets at 20 lbs.
Wrist Curls – 3 sets at 20 lbs.

Triceps:
Skull Crushers – 5 sets at 60 lbs.
Cable Extensions – 5 sets at 60 lbs.
One-Arm Extensions – 5 sets at 15-20 lbs.

Cardio:
20 Minutes at 60-65 RPM on an Elliptical
15 Minutes at 4.5 Speed on a Treadmill

My current weight is 200 lbs. My goal is to reach 180 lbs. – which I used to be and was in the best shape of my life – need to return!

I perform on a 12 day on / 2 day off routine.
