I think she cost him the vote. There were a lot of undecided independents who were leaning his way, and he blew it with taking her on as vice pres to make the brain dead religious right happy. Had he picked someone who made sense, I think he could have carried it. He lost my vote with that move to Palin. Sad to say, you have not heard the last of her. She's to self centered and too power hungry to go away quietly. She's tasted the national stage, so he wont be happy back on Alaska.

No, I voted for the party that gives our Const, including the Second Amend, true focus: Libertarian.
in MA, it didn't matter who I voted for, it's a blue state period. I voted third party just to send the message that many people are voting, but they are not happy with the choices they have from the two parties. Had I been in a swing state where my vote really mattered, I honestly don't know what I would have done. Probably voted for McCain and hoped above all hope he didn't die in those 4 years. Palin cost him the vote with far more people than they realize or will admit to, and until the Repubs stop allowing the religious right to run their party and get back to the party of great men like Lincoln , etc., it's going to be a downhill slide for that party. People will not soon forget Bush.

Yes I did, in FL. Voted barr by mail weeks ago. I was working early in the day as a roving polling supervisor for a the media pool research group that surveyed every Xth person who voted in each district.
But in the evening I drove my family to their precincts to vote, watched kids, bought dinner, etc, where they all promptly voted Obama.

Thanks. I didn't know that Jindal was so right wing with social policies. So, looks like I agree with him on some things and disagree on others. I like social moderates that lean conservative when it comes to gov policies, economics and gov intervention in our lives.

The way he handled the Gustav crisis this summer made him look in control and very determined to put people ahead of politics, so that could be a plus for him. I'm sure there is dirt and it will come out if he's in the spotlight but that's the price of fame and power.

I can`t see someone as brilliant if they claim they cured cancer by "the laying of hands" and by doing a self-performed exorcism. All of which Jindal readily claims.
He is schooling at its absolute worst meaning, he has a track record of memorizing canned answers without the knowledge behind them. He is the guy in college who can ace tests, but has no idea what the answers he wrote actually mean or what context they have.
He is a dangerous Neo-Con who would love nothing more than to spend more than Mr. Bush and his ilk especially when we examine his record as governor.

Louisiana's Governor Bobby Jindal has been mentioned as a potential veep for McCain, and he may bring some, um, interesting talents to the table -- such as excorism. This 1994 New Oxford Review article authored by Jindal, who converted to Catholicism in high school and is known for being very devout, has been kicking around the blogosphere. In it he talks about witnessing the exorcism of a female friend he identifies only as Susan.

Jindal was very impressive during Gustav. He was a good communicator and appeared to be in command, a strong leader. The whole exorcism thing is weird and concerning, I agree.
