Tony 'Ludwig Borga' Halme - 600
'Total Package' Lex Luger - 530

Chris Benoit - 450
Shane Douglas - 420
The Barbarian - 550 for 3 reps (no pause)
Iron Sheik - 345

Bill Goldberg - 495 for 5 reps (but has claimed in interviews that he only does 400)
Triple H - over 400 (no figure stated beyond that)

Mark Henry - 620
Magnum TA - 350 (for 10-12 reps)

I watched the Warlord do 405 for 10 on the incline.  Back in the day, all the wrestlers trained at World's Gym in Somerville, MA (when the WWF was in town).

no way Goldberg did 5 plates for 5, i'll give him 405 for 5 but not 495.

With all the gear and lifting these guys used to do I have no doubt Hogan hit over 500lbs. Also, Goldbergs claim seems feasible. Of course they have no video so their lifts will never be made official in the Squadfather Hall of Fame. ::)

Kane - 405 (for sets - no max recorded)

Of the ones whose physiques I can recall, there are some interesting numbers.

Eddie Guerrero - I know he was small, but he was on a lot of gear, so I'd have thought maybe more?
Big Show - You have to remember he weighed over 500lbs at one point, so it'd be interesting to see what he could lift?
Barbarian - 550 for 3?  He was a big guy.
Bret Hart - Seems reasonable, he was 6ftish about 240lbs?
Warlord - 575 for 6?  Again he was a big guy, 6ft 5, 320lbs.
Triple H - Didn't he do an article for M&F, so his max bench might have been in that.
Mark Henry - I was expecting the Worlds Strongest Man to be way out in front?!
Hulk Hogan - Maybe, he was getting on for 300lbs at one point.

Cool list though.  I wonder how much Cena, Khali and Taker can bench.  Or Edge.   ;D

Mark Henry's isn't "way out in front" because he's one of the only ones telling he truth.

I was just expecting something around 700, considering he dead's 900+, squats 1000+, and can clean and jerk over 500lbs.  Oh well, I doubt he cares, he's earning more in WWE than he would in powerlifting.

An article once claimed Hogan benched 700lbs!! Think it was Total Sport magazine in the UK when WWf was in town about 1991

I remember during Wrestlemania 3 Jesse Ventura gave his "measurements" before the match and it was like 24 inch arms, 62 inch chest, and 32 inch legs lol.

'Superstar' Billy Graham - 585   Maybe

Doug Furnas - 600  this was done in a powerlifting competition

Scott 'Flash' Norton - 650  I think this was done in a powerlifting competition

Road Warrior Animal - 550  There is video of this lift online.

'Superfly' Jimmy Snuka - 525 (in his bodybuilding days, before he became a wrestler)  Maybe. Snuka was supposedly increadibly strong too.

Kurt Angle - 420  Not unbelievable

Bill Kazmaier - 660   This was done in a powerlifting competition, no doubt whatsoever about this one.

Tony 'Ludwig Borga' Halme - 600  I think this one is believable.

'The Big Show' Paul Wight - 500 (when challenged in the weights room - he did it without too much apparent effort and didn't bother going any higher)  not unbelievable. this is basically a bodyweight lift if you think about it.

Dino Bravo - 570  There is video of this lift online.

The Barbarian - 550 for 3 reps (no pause)  Not unbelievable.

Tank Abbott - 600  There is video of this lift online

'Big Bully' Nick Busick - 605  This was done in powerlifting competition, I think in a multiply bench shirt

Ted Arcidi - 700  Done in powerlifting competition. No doubt about this lift.

'Polish Power' Ivan Putski - 600  I don't know about this one.  Putski was strong, but this is pushing it.

Road Warrior Hawk - 515  There is video of this lift online I think....

'Lethal Weapon' Steve Blackman - 550 (in his weightlifting days, before wrestling)

Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart - 550 (with ease and just fooling around)   I believe this lift. Jim Neidhart was ridiculously strong in the day.

Mark Henry - 620   Done in powerlifting competititon, no doubt about it.

Bill 'Ax' Eadie - 450 (estimated)  WTF is that?  Hell, i've "estimated" I've got a 19 inch dick too.  My wife laughed at me.

Kane - 405 (for sets - no max recorded)  Not unbelievable.

Tony Atlas - 600  Tony was ridiculously strong in the day, but I don't recall him officially going over 500.  He may have.

Mark Henry's isn't "way out in front" because he's one of the only ones telling he truth.

exactly. henry's been called potentially the greatest strength athlete of all time and according to these wrestlers he's just one of many. ::)

we're talking about a guy who won the ASC strongman event in 2003 (2002?), closed the CoC #3 his first try, threw the Inch Dumbbell over his head, held the world deadlift record at one point, and set the STILL UNBROKEN raw squat record back in 1995. yet apparently he's not anything special when pitted up against those other titans from the WWF. riiiiiiiiight.

Cena is supposed to have a big deadlift.

I'm not sure of the exact weight, but I've heard him mention years ago when he first deadlifted over 600lbs.

Interesting about Jim the Anvil Niedhart,. He was called that because at the Calgary Stampede he set the world record in the anvil toss.

His squat record was broke by Wilkerson then it got broke

His squat record was broke by Wilkerson then it got broke

what? when? henry's squat was 948, i wasn't aware wilkerson was hitting anything over 860. ???

http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/records/900-pound-raw-squat

upon further looking around (namely from http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/node/6068 ) it seems like wilk had the APF's raw record, but henry's is an all-time. unless something happened i'm not aware of.

hahahahahaahaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, i love it, so according to the WWE there are like 20 guys who have raw benched enough to be on the all time top 20 raw benches of all time list. ::) why don't these guys just go ALL OUT with the lies and claim 1500 or something, it's not like anyone will ask them for proof.

I know Kaz's bench record is legit. He did it in 1981 in Columbus GA and I was one of the judges. The weight was actually 661 lbs.

Title: Re: Wrestlers Bench Presses???

I certainly believe Kazmeier and Arcidi because they are competitive powerlifters.  We have someone in this thread who was one of the judges for Kazmeier.

Mark Henry's claim actually sounds too low.  The rest of the claims may be fictitious, but these guys are huge and full of juice.  If someone can throw a 300 pound man across a room I wouldn't be surprised if he had a big bench too.

in 2002 I belonged to a gym here in Oceanside and used to run into goldberg a couple times a month for about 3-4 months, never saw him work free weights, always cables and hammer strengths...

I swear he'd put 3 plates on the 4 way neck machine and crank out some insane reps with them
