Post by: flexingtonsteele on December 23, 2008, 12:43:19 AM
AD has been kind enough to join the positive board and answer anyones questions that they may have for the 2007 Nationals Champion.

Yes I'm getting ready for the Iron Man. I'm excited. 1 of my old training partners that had moved away came back for a few months and we've had some incredible training sessions. I promised his wife who he'll be joining after the show I'll get in that top 5 so I have high expectations. posted some shots today on you tube search Adorthus.  Again I'm glad to be on the board.
Maybe I can teach forsure I can learn.

You looking to do some other shows besides the IM? If you can travel, you should make a trip to Australia  contact TheMessiahofMuscle aka Tony Doherty.

egg whites oatmeal then the next 5 are fish/lean ground turkey/or chicken  and sweet or red potato and unlimited greens  a pre cardio shake  a workout shake a lil fish oil a dab of this on my last meal  ;) last meal is eggwhites sometimes fiber one as a treat some almonds here and there. Thats a rough outline
sometimes rice actually often and 30 grams oatmeal last meal. that's the only gram amount I'll share tonight :P

Yeah a couple friends and I were cracking up watching a video we shot a couple days before and the night before
we couldn't figure out what it was from then i looked at the date and said thats before the Arnold and the other one is from the Arnold in the hotel.. we started laughing like we were in highschool because we were posting my latest you tube posing video and I'm 100x better now at 5 weeks out! Sad but true. Yes I'm only human I took my lumps and I also had the greatest experience you can imagine. I'm working my way back up this will be my best. thanks for the good wishes

Just left the Fit Factory modesto store. Austen is good to me he donates to my contest prep every time. waxy maze ,protein powder ,glutamine and creatine stuff that starts adding up fast when you don't have a sponsor. Plus we get our family's together, so the short answer is yes  :)

I sent you a personal message. I'm new here and I will answer every ? as honestly as I can but I have a son  a fiance and a family so I respect other peoples PARENTS and loved ones. sounds funny until  you imagine some guy's on the internet telling your kid when he's 16 yrs old that he started doing drugs and  now he's a rock star and your kids saying why can't I. Joe blo is famous and he does BLO.
So i will never glorify that side of it.

My stomach is pretty much flat all the time my son has abs  all the time at 8 years old he guest posed with me at age & and 8. I do work hard at my conditioning but I have a great head start. I dont ever get much heavier than 245 and I compete around 230 so I don't ever gain enough weight to earn a gut.
Vascularity is a mystery to me I've never been as vascular on stage as I am during the next three weeks but that paul demayo sure had a secret.  I was gonna say blood is blue when its flowing through your body and red when the air hits it but my girl started laughing her ass off at me!
She said some people have veins that are closer to the surface? I'll ask my nutritionist

I think when things go your way that's more acceptable, when they don't that's the first thing I can admit to pointing out.
I can say  forsure it's a business and every thriving sport is. One I'd like to do well in as a matter of fact.
Here's an analogy I wouldn't have a nascar champion directing a down hill ski contest or visa versa, but a rep from Vogue Mag could tell you which racer in either sport will look good on the cover and give them a contract!
so maybe sometimes you need not have participated in the sport you control ;)
I never got paid 500$ once by a certain fellow from a certain mag right after I turned pro, I was in Texas I had just turned pro My good friend Raj bought us tickets to the cowboys redskins game and I didn't have time ...... anyway he needed me to complete his articles and he's never paid me the 500$ my point is  your right If he had ever busted his ass in the gym for 14 years like i had he would've paid me. As for the IFBB I love it! I decided a few years ago I wanted to work my way up in this family and no matter where it takes me I'm in the family. I have the utmost respect for Mr. Manion and his governing bodies or I'd do something else.

I know my legs can definitely improve and my hams and glutes .I'd like more chest thickness and more detail on my back.
I wouldn't say a lot of size but definitely a slow and steady gain. I'd imagine 10-15 quality pounds would probably do the trick.
I'm really working my calves and abs some extra detail that I plan to bring to the stage.  oh yeah and my traps and my delts..... :)

I know my legs are lacking! my back is fine and There's not 1 single body part that I don't try to improve every day. My back is cool it reminds me of when your a kid and you put paint on 1 side of a paper and fold it. Then when you open it up, it looks like a symmetrical butterfly.  it's great to be huge but it's so much better to be big enough and still look good.i never wanted to look like a freek. Who has that for a goal? SHREK?
I'm here to do my thing I'm just waiting my turn, hopefully improving everyday.

MY mom was a single parent so I was going to the gym at a very early age  when my mom would play racquetball at Kangaroo courts! That's about 100 years ago it seems. In sixth grade I got my first Olympic bench press. It was a b-day gift from a man dating my mom who is now call DAD.
I really caught the bug my junior year in highschool and by my senior year I was going to the gym after school working out at school and cutting class to workout. I never heard of over training so I thought the more the better.
Highschool was the first time I ever said I was going to be a pro bodybuilder. I still talk to to a lot of those friends from highschool and we get a kick out of that,we mostly laugh about how I pick to be a professional in the sport that is the toughest to make $ and even harder to please everyone well actually that's impossible.
I'd never trade it in for anything else. This is what I love to do.

When I'm really training my back routine consists of
bent over barbell row-seated low row-tbar row or lever row-pulldowns front

or pulls front-bent over barbell-seated row machine-hammer strength low row

I choose to go last during our workouts so I never choose the excersises and I always try to do the most reps and have the best form.
we joke around and say , oh its muscle confusion day but that's what it is.
I needed to add thickness and still do so we train a lot of rows
but we did pullups once!

AD,

Can you post your offseason diet and precontest diet please?

Also, how many calories and grams of protein do you take in a day offseason and precontest?

Many thanks
B who manages my life answered that ? and if we're lucky she will tell us the precontest amounts which she knows and of course my nutritionist, but she cooks all the food and if I look like I'm flattening out she adds a little bit of this or a little bit of that (potato's,rice, sweet potato etc.)
I'll tell you what after I place in the top 5 I'll post the exact diet I was supposed to follow ;D

Trust me...even I have a hard time watching him eat all that stuff.  It's just NOT FAIR!  And I wasn't even over exaggerating.

Er, okaaay....

Big J!!  I really wasn't joking. He really does eat all that stuff.  Seriously.  However, his contest diet consists anywhere from fish and chicken, ground chicken, ground turkey or ground sirloin.  Which I just added chicken into his diet since AD said he's willing to eat anything!!  I wonder if he'll eat Bison or Wild Salmon now??  :)  Red & Sweet Potatoes, Rice or Black beans, lots and lots of veggies as well as egg whites and oatmeal sometimes cereal if he has a hard time with that stuff.

The one thing I always do is cook all his food with spices.  AD "never" eats anything plain.  He can have ketchup (organic low sodium no sugar)...BBQ sauce (same thing as the ketchup)...lots of lemon juice...lots of pepper...lots of chili powder...cumin....cajun spice...turmeric....card amon......etc....etc.  You get my point.  I don't even take out salt.  He also has low sodium soy sauce with his sushi.....and he's allowed a treat if he eats all his meals....french toast with protein powder, egg whites, and almond breeze smothered in organic sugar free syrup with a touch of butter (but not REAL butter).   ;)

I'm a big fan of organic stuff so AD gets alot of good wholesome healthy food.  Anywhere from organic juiced carrots, beets, cabbage, oranges, apples...parsley...all organic no pesticides or contaminants.  The protein he has is also pretty healthy.  No hormones or antibiotics....free range, organic, not caged or farm raised.  AND.....No growth...  like he needs that stuff.  ;D

So there you have it....I gave away a few of my secrets....hopefully it helps!

AD is like one of those kids who eats all day and never gets fat. if he used those products during the offseason, i dont think it would be possible for him to ever go up in weight.

Mr Cherry

I was checking your position at ironman pro and i would like to read from you if you consider your condition better than oleg/aiman's conditioning.

Both look pretty big, more conditioned, and they placed worse than you.

What a long vacation  :)
I made some mistakes at the end of my prep and the science part of this game I'm just learning.
all I can say is I wasnt as conditioned as when I got my Card. And that's not cutting it in the pro's!
Mistakes,not meaning excuses.
