plus japanese cars actually aim at today's and tomorrow's needs, not the same old shit like the german cars.

Japan will be the first to have relient E-Cars.

German cars are great, and IMO, some of the finest automobiles on the planet, but reliability of their vehicles have got to step up. Plus it's not like german cars are cheap either. Maintenance and parts are VERY expensive and it's not like any average joe can work on them like american and japanese cars. If they want to rule the US market, looks like VW has to do it because BMW, MBZ, Porsche, are too expensive to the average buyer. Even so, VW's are known for their piss poor reliability and expensive to maintain then an honda or a toyota.

I love German cars ( I drive a BMW), but you also must remember that the brands you speak of do not target the same type of buyers that GMC and Chrysler target.  Fiat is merging with Chrysler as we speak.  Also, there is no way that GMC or Ford go away.  They are remaking the brands currently and they will rise again.  Way to many jobs attached to those brands.  In regards to truck sales, Ford, GMC and Chevy are still the major players.  Truck sales are a big deal in America.

The car industry as a whole is fucked.

From all accounts BMWs are excellent cars, very reliable, good performance, sleek, just great all around.
They are pricey but you can probably get one thats a couple years old for a near reasonable price.  With the reliability, I imagine a 3-4 yr old BMW would be somewhat cheaper and last for a long time.

Not arguing that point at all...i had a 325i and it was a great, great car

but The Japs have assembly lines all over this country that are pumping out hundreds of thousands of quality affordable cars. they will fill the void

Coach, do you realize how dangerous your political state of mind really is? If everyone were like you the second coming of Hitler/Stalin/Mousselini would be possible within months. No.

The number of people who are willing and able to pay the premium for a BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc. remains relatively static.  GMs loss is the gain of car makers with more moderately priced selections including Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ford, VW, etc.

There is no way your sales figures are better than they were last year at the same time.  The auto industry as a whole is down over 30% in sales.  You are slammed with service because people are not buying new cars, they are opting to service them more. Thats good for service, bas for sales and your real money is of course made in the sale of new automobiles.

Explain to me just how "dangerous" it is!

Well, the way you talk about liberals sounds very similar to what Nazi's said about jews in the 1930's. I'm not implying though that you would exterminate all liberals if you had the chance (or would you?).

What's dangerous is how badly you swallow Rush Limbaugh's and the likes cock and almost see liberals as "the enemy". It's a clear sign of a narrow and judgmental mind and I have no doubt that you would be easy to persuade if another Hitler/Stalin/Moussilini sang your tune.

As said, the problem here is not that you're conservative or whatever, it's that you are so sure of your political views and see anyone who opposes them as "idiots" or enemies. THAT is dangerous.

i know you guys love mercedes and BMW and even the trailerpark-boys should sell their shitty gmc's now and get an X-5

the german invasion starts

No Mercedes and BMW are premium Marques. Plus it has been stated that BMW is diluting it cars, buy coming out more and more derivatives of the same car (such as the X6, X5, X3, X1) or one could say, that BMW is creating Niches, like the 135i coupe, which other Automakers including Mercedes are scrambling to compete against.

Cadillac is doing very well and making strides to be a top tier prmium brand, trying to get back to being "The Standard of The World". Check the Caddy CTS and CTS V.

Porsche is basically buying or truly gonna own VW.

I would rather see less people driving Mercs and BM's than what we see today. I remember when owning a MB or BMW meant something. Sure it's nostalgic, same shit is happening to Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Ich haette genauso gut sagen koennen: gute Ergebnisse bringen. Es war eine bewusste Entscheidung, das Wort zu waehlen und hat nichts mit der Tatsache zu tun, dass ich Deutsch als Erwachsener erlernt habe.  ::)

GM is wise to sell the Hummer but what about Saturn?  nobody wants that clunker(the saturn product line), and yet they kept making them.  aside from the two seater, it's a worthless product.  Good also for GM to maintain chevrolet, cadillac, GMC and Buick. can the redundancy already.

chrysler corporation is a bigger problem.
