No ne is talking about the team with the best record in the NHL....the Boston Bruins. Everyone has won a title over the last few years but them. Now is the time. The Bruins have a great history! Boston is a great hockey town (The B's were in an extended funk, but times have changed!). BU just one the national championship after BC won it last year. BU, BC, NEU, UNH, UM, UVM UML and UMA are all pro hockey factory's!

Why is Ovechkin a bitch? And you are right, the Pens have owned the Caps in the playoffs. I hope this is the year the Caps break through. They broke through a major plateu by coming back from a 3-1 deficit to the Rangers. They're playing with a lot of confidence right now and they're the hotter team. (3 straight wins)

I am proud that my team went 0-16 and i am hoping that the league will convert over into a 18 game schedule and see if we can go 0-18..Detroit can do it.
I have lived in over 20 different states and went to Greenville Tech, Clemson and then MICHIGAN. I would not go back up north if you paid me.
I feel pretty good living down here on the beach and helping out a foundation that teaches kids how to play football who have epilepsy.

I actually agree with you on this. Brashear is way too aggressive at times and he slows the Caps down. He's strictly a goon at this point in his career. But he's no Marty Mcsorely or Bob Probert, that's for sure. The Caps are not missing him right now on the ice. 5 straight playoff wins. 'Nuff said.....

Caps were just letting the Pens skate around and create shots. Maybe they do need Brashears to lay some smackdown on their offensive players.
Varlamov is unbelievable. 39 saves and 42 shots on goal. All of that and he only gives up 3 goals in 4 periods of play. Not too bad but the Caps need to be more aggressive on defense.

No disrespect to your opinion but the Caps are the better team in the conference over the Pens. The Caps were 3-1 against the Pens in the regular season and have better goaltending and defense. There's a reason they were the #2 seed in the conference while the Pens were a respectable #4. If the Pens win this series, it will be considered a big upset. After their comeback series win against the Rangers, the Caps reeled off five straight wins and narrowly lost in OT on Wednesday. The Caps are the better team, period.

After their comeback series win against the Rangers, the Caps reeled off five straight wins and narrowly lost in OT on Wednesday. The Caps are the better team, period.
I do not follow the east all that much but i do here alot about Crosby and Ovechkin. I just see what i see on Sportscenter and how the Pens are the bigger and the more "experienced team". Your goaltender is doing extremely well right now and i would hope that he could play that way all through the playoffs but i watched the games and it just looked like to me, the Caps did not want the game (3) as much as the Pens did. This series is great for the NHL and has it's two brightest stars going head to head and this series has been the best that i have seen so far.

You can make the same argument that the Pens played the same way in Washington. It all has to do with the home-ice advantage. Playoff momentum can swing when the a playoff series switches cities. The Pens have a terrific fans and they definitely helped boost their confidence during that win. However, the Pens almost blew that game when they allowed the Caps to tie before regulation.

Thanks for saying that Detroit can beat the Ducks but they are not playing with passion and Heart like the Ducks are. I finally saw that Hossa did something. Pittsburgh and Washington is a far better series then i thought that it would be. I hope that Gary Asshole is is liking the playoffs because they are all really good series and no one is getting blown out.

A terrifc series! This is fun to watch. A classic series deserves a game 7. It's so alarming to me that the Pens have almost twice as many shots on goals. Even more amazing that the Caps put in 5 goals in half as many shot attempts. That crossbar shot in OT was crazy.....

Walker prolly cost the Canes the series with that cheap shot. B's were asleep at the wheel at times. Not anymore. They layed a beating on Carolina tonight and I expect them to do the same in Caroline and take the series. When both teams are on, the Bruins are better by a lot - imo. That said, I give Carolina credit.

although I think they had already been awakened, they were dominating the game before the cheapshot, it certainly didn't help anything. Thomas was awesome last night and I think the Bruins will finish Carolina off pretty easily in game 7.

By the way...I just want to say that if Ovechkin would have scored on that breakaway goal in the first period, I think we may have seen a possible different outcome. Momemtum is so huge in the playoffs, especially in a game seven where they had a chance to come roaring out of the gate. The Pens took the crowd right out of it early and Varly got really shook up after those two goals in eight seconds. Then 28 seconds into the second period, he gets tagged again. That was all she wrote after that.
But the pens deserved to win. Too many horses on their offense and their passing was excellent. They practically lived on the Caps side of the ice throughout the series.

I used to feel the same way about Baltimore. The city was a major fucking dump up until about 4 years ago. Since then, the area outside of M&T bank stadium and Camden Yards(outside of Fells point and the inner harbour) has improved dramatically. Gone are all of the low income housing and most of the row homes. In it's place are a more than three dozen new businesses, new buildings and novelty shopping. Truly an upscale renovation that warrants pride if you have the money and luxury of living downtown. The Baltimore inner harbour skyline is as impressive as ever and i'm proud to represent that city. Baltimore is definitely "thriving" more than ever.

My team has a Superbowl title in their 14 year existence and few NFL titles beofre the Colts left town. The Steelers went 25 YEARS without a championship. 2008 is old news. I'm looking ahead to the 2009 season.

Subjective, over the last decade I'd say Pats vs Colts is up there, if not first. The reason I say this is because both team were gunning for sb's every year. The Ravens have stunk a lot since 01. Flacco will change that, though.

That was a very entertaining game until the 3rd. Malkin's 3rd goal was incredible. Carolina seems to be having to work too hard to get shots and are just gassed at the ends of periods and especially in the 3rd, when they need it.

yes that goal is one of the best i've ever seen, there aren't too many guys with skills like that
the pens play a much more aggresive defensive system under bylsma, therrien's passive system did well against a weak eastern conference last season but looked bad against detroit
his system will get the pens out of the stronger east and then give detroit a MAJOR battle 8)

I am not bitter but i am a Lil' angry at the refs for blowing two calls in the game but everyone misses calls but one went against the Pens in Game one.
I am not a traitor to my hometown because that is A2.
I spent many years i the cold and snow and i now have partial Cancer and my mother has one eye and cancer and is dieing
My mom always wanted to live on the beach and she sees me have fun and she has the best time that she can by watching her only child as she slowly goes blind and wants to see me having fun by being at the beach also.
I left A2 because their are better hospitals that can care for my mom and have specialist that can watch her as i cannot all the time.
I have a BB that can tell me the score and i Tivo the games and watch them when i get back home even if the Wings won or lost.
I love running on the beach and getting a tan.
I live on the West Coast and i see no Mosquito's/Snakes/Alligators/Hurricanes or HIGH CRIME RATE!

game five is just going to be a nail-biter for both fan bases. Each team did what it needed to do, and now it comes down to a 3-game series with 2 of them at Joe Louis. The Pens are much better than last year, no doubt about it, and it looked like the Wings have tired as well with this 4-games-in-6-nights stretch.
The Pens defense was great tonight. Even though they gave up 40 shots or so, they kept most of them coming from the outside angles, which are much easier to stop. I am sick of watching Hossa play for the Wings. He handles the puck okay, but all he does is stay to the outside. Each time you think he might do something, he just takes the easy way out and skates near the boards. He needs to get some balls and go to the center of the ice....just maddening.
I still like the Wings in this one. Datsyuk, if healthy will help with his puck stealing, and puck control, causing the Pens to scramble. You throw a player of that talent in the mix, if he is good to go, and the Pens will not be used to his ebb and flow of play....it will make a big difference. The big reason I still like the Wings is the goaltending. Ozzie gave up 4, but played well I thought. His defense did not help him tonight, as they got beat a few times...that tired look. Hopefully they will be rested and ready to go for game 5. I think Fluery is still iffy...he just does not look like a lockdown goalie, and the pressure will be on him on the road for possibly 2-games.
This is what the NHL wanted. You can see the slow build up of this series through the first 4-games. It will be high tension for the next 3....way cool! The best part is if the Wings lose the series I do not feel as bad, after seeing 4 Stanly Cup wins over the last 11-years. The Pens fans will be on the edge of happiness or despair after not winning for 16 or so years...I take comfort in that :)

i didn't like their chances if they played detroit again, i thought detroit would underachieve in the playoffs like they normally do

Records do not mean shit and the favorites do not mean jack either. Find out the player from the Pens that took the Cup to a Titty bar...i would love to be the guy that has to be with the cup while he was there. I think that Gurein is a family man and his wife would cut his nuts off if he did something like that but i cannot think of any other penguins that have the balls to take the cup to a strip joint. ;D

Yea, you can brag about it when you are the most hated team in the NHL and the Wings are. I wish that the Elite six were back on top but Chicago is making Huge strides and it will be nice to knock off about 10 Milllion off our Cap. That is like when the NFL, MLB, Ivy league first started playing. I mean MICHIGAN has the most Div-1 wins in history and they mostly beat the shit out of crappie teams like, Norte Dame, O$U, Michigan State and Florida.

I saw that and good for him because he has no heart during the playoffs but does have a better chance with Chicago and they also signed Tomas Kopecky who also played for th wings. It gives us alot of cap space and almost about 10 million but i hope that they stay way under and just get two so-so players.
Marian would have been better off taking what Pittsburgh offered him. Seven years and 35 Million last year.
