Title: Silva's striking = ridiculous...
Post by: Captain Equipoise on August 09, 2009, 03:34:09 AM
Wow.... what a striking seminar he put on tonight....those shots were straight, crisp, perfect... Griffin had no chance, at one point Silva was actually playing with him...the guy is unreal, pin point accuracy and tons of power behind his shots.

Oh and he also stated that he will never fight Lyoto because they are like brothers...

at least in this fight he had the fire and intensity back in his eyes unlike his last two fights where he looked bored.

Give over dude.

The shot that Griffin dived onto the ground over wouldnt put my granny away.

Total fix.

He never swerved his hips, turned the shot over - infact he was walking backwards.

Nothing against Silve, but Griffin kopped out, knowing that a REAL beating was imminent if he didnt.

Silva's boxing (footwork, head movement, and counterpunching) were on full display, it was actually pretty funny how out classed Forrest was.

Griffin is a slow plodding fighter that does not use angles, a perfect punching bag for a fast counter puncher with a long reach like Silva.  Styles makes fights and the Silva/Griffin was a mismatch from the start.
