Title: Pulled Hamstring?
Post by: Rinc on August 20, 2009, 02:39:16 PM
It's been three weeks, don't actually know what did it, it just started aching while working out. What can I do to rehab, my guess is just lay off. Any ideas?

hamstrings another on my big injury list.,... tore mine deadlifting a year or more ago....

did your hear an audable pop when u hurt it or did it just become sore?

best to get it treated, ultra sound and hard sports massage work wonders on healing... even a good hard massage off your gf a few times a week when your resting would help, when the pain goes down, gently stretch each day until you can stretch to the same degree or more pre injury..

No pop, just sore, now I have developed a large bruise in the area. Looks bad, I don't believe its torn because I would imagine there would be a ton of pain from a torn hamstring, definately pulled, bad. Did you get a lot of bruising?

there was some bruising, bruising isnt always a sign of a tear tho.......... if u dont get it treated it will still heal, more chance of it happening again tho.

Yeah, thats what I thought. I have just laid off squats and legs presses, it seemed to hurt most on those exercises. I am still able to do deads. I guess that will always be a weak spot, sucks getting old. Thanks for the feedback.

work on your stretching........ it does make a big difference, 5mins treadmill with 5 mins stretching before leg day will go a long way...

how long has it been?  Are you back normal hammy training again?

I have a bum shoulder.  I don't think it'll ever be the same, but it's workable most of the time.  Getting old sucks... but it's the goal!

Hammy is gtg, took close to four weeks until it felt better. Had nasty bruising on my inner thigh and hamstring. Weird injury because I cannot pinpoint when it occured. Anyway I do a lot more stretching now and I think that will help a lot.
