Title: Need Clothing tips
Post by: Migs on September 16, 2009, 09:17:05 PM
Ok so I want to change up my wardrobe.  It mostly consists of polo style short sleeve shirts, shorts.  Always liked the Brooks brothers, banana republic look, but dont have the budget.  any ideas?  Need to figure out what looks good on me since i'm a fatty.

Not sure where you are located Migs, but Simms, Marshall's, TJ Maxx and AJ Wright sell those brands at discount prices (sometimes very discount).  I bought my daughter a pair of Coach shoes in Marshall's for $20, they retail at $178.00.  :D

Plain polo shirts (long sleeved dress shirts etc) w/pants w/o pleats (or very few pleats) are classic and timeless.

Also these look pretty good (except for "Tuesday")

Banana republic used to be great years ago up till they decided to go Japanimation around 6 ish yrs ago...now its ick...and their pants dont even fit MY skinny ass legs...and i dont even train  :-\

Abercrombie ws my staple in the early 90s till everyone and their grandma started wearing it and now i only get my fitted caps from there...they do make perfectly fitting caps...the last straw ws the sudden influx of ghetto black people with straightened hair wearing it in the DC metro area and like the Esclade, banana republic became a ghetto icon...at least here in DC  :-\

If i were you i'd go J-crew  :)

for jeans...i usually do Lucky Brand...i usually have only 1 or 2 which i wear the shit out of

Smart, smart... there maybe hope for men after all.

Go out and try on clothes well above your budget.
You will get better service and advice.
Ask questions about what they think, etc and go to several places.

Then take what you learned to a store more in tune with your price range.

yippie! I got a 30% off coupn for Brooks Brothers!  Even still I can't afford crap there lol.  What type of clothes screams out to a woman that they need to sleep with me?

Also there are some boots that I found that are pretty cool IMHO.  They look like old leather paratrooper style brown leather boots, but dressier.  not sure what to wear with them if i get it, but i think they are nifty.  Also would it look gay homosexual metrosexual, ok to have the pants tucked into them?  I'll try to find a pic.

Goth!

Every Goth chick I have known has been very VERY easy.
Maybe it is the belief that they have that the world sucks so they can't afford to be picky.

I like the Metrosexual look in most cases. It costs money and takes a lot of effort to pull it off but it isn't the clothes perse, it is how the guy wears them that makes the difference.

expect Mikey underwear, I catch you wearing those and I will light them on fire, while still on you  >:(
