If the playoffs started tonight

Who are your sleeper picks from each conference?

AFC: pats

NFC: packers

Go giants!

Man the AFC looks pretty weak this year...I love how they throw the Texans in there as in the running for the wild card spot  ;D they must not have looked at our schedule b/c if they had we wouldnt even be mentioned.

Id say

AFC: Jags and Pats

NFC: pack and the eagles

Giants=Donezo...Learn to heed my predictions 2nd  :P

Ravens control their own destiny after the Jags loss. The AFC is definitely having a down year this year but that's just fine and dandy with me.

If the Ravens win the last three games, they're in with the #6 seed, and possibly the #5(tie breaker edge over the Broncos). I would love another crack at the Bengals in the first round. Payback's a bitch.....

But one game at a time.....The playoffs start now for the Ravens....

i agree the afc looks weak but look at how many teams are in the hunt for the wild card spots in the afc compared to the nfc thats gotta say something about the depth of the afc

What an absolutely sick catch by Mike Wallace for the Steelers!!! I love it!

This makes the Ravens/Steelers matchup next week all that much more important! As a Ravens fan, I wouldn't have it any other way! I love December football!

Props to the Steelers for coming from behind against the Packers......Tomlin, you're lucky that onside kick didn't cost you.....

the botched onside kick turned out to be a good move, gave the men in black and gold more time to score

the packers were going to score no matter what field positioning they had :-X

Well Santana Moss is always scary!!!!!   Other than him, there is no one to fear Portis is out and Cooley (their franchise) is out.   Campbell is in the same dept Zorn is......knows he's out the door but does what he can.

I may hate Wash   but I respect them more than I do Philly and NY.   I've been a Dallas fan since the 70's  and still remember the beating we took   in the 82 NFC champs.  Plus I lived in the DC area and oversees (where a lot of Skin fans live also) so me and the Skins go a loooong way back.

Redskins haven't been worth a shit since the late 80's, early 90's. I feel sorry for their fans. They deserve a lot better than what Daniel Synder has given them. Guy doesn't have a clue about putting together a winning team. Just likes to throw huge money at free agents and never build through the draft.

On the plus side, Johnny Rockets makes damn good hamburgers.

Well while I feel bad for them...I cartainly don't want to bring back the 80's!!!!!!   They were the 2nd best team in that decade.

weird thing is they actually have a good amount of decent talent on their team, they are in one of the toughest divisions though.

The Patriots are getting hot and should be respected as a serious threat.  If they play like they did last week, they can beat anyone in the NFL.  They have a championship caliber offense and the defense has started to mature.  I doubt they win it, but I wouldn't be shocked if they did.

This might be the year the Chargers get it.

I picked the colts to win the sb this year, and dumbass Bill Polian might have cost me a bet because of his idiocy.  They should have kept the peddle to the metal.  Now they will probably lose to San D or NE in the AFCCG.

The starters will be rusty. 3+ weeks without playing....watch the colts get punched in the mouth by the Steelers, the Chargers or the Pats.  It could happen.  Good chance, actually.

they could have knocked the jets out of playoff contention PLUS go 15-0

:-[  :-\ there have been so many games this year that we either had and lost or that we could have had and didnt come through. Our kicker alone probably lost 2 or 3 games and kept us from going into overtime once.

LOL The Houston Chronicle had a cover page on their sports section that went something like "The Texans are finding new ways to lose"  ;D it so true

I think 80% is being generous. Edleman is a good replacement and they're almost like clones, physically. But Welker is so much better of a player because of his field awareness and superior agility. Edleman is a rookie, right?

I think 80% is being generous. Edleman is a good replacement and they're almost like clones, physically. But Welker is so much better of a player because of his field awareness and superior agility. Edleman is a rookie, right?

I dunno, Edlemen had over 90 yards today against a very good Texans defence.  How much more would Welker have been good for, 20-30 yards or roughly 20-30 percent?  I'd say Edleman can be 75-80% of what Welker is.  That's still a huge difference.

Some good wild cars matchups.

Cowboys vs Eagles should be some game.

Me and Earl will be watching from the sidelines :'(

Whenever your team is in a same list with the Bengals and Cardinals, your team must suck. ;D

The Bengals, huh? I don't know. They basically fell flat against the Jets and they didn't pull their starters until late in the 3rd when the game was already out of reach. I think they're one and done, even playing at home. The beneficiaries of the Ravens and Steelers having a down year, basically.

GO RAVENS!

Yeah, that stiff arm was sick by Mcgahee. That dude is diesel and strong as an ox. Always had huge respect for the way he came back from that devastating knee injury in college. Then he got knocked the fuck out in the AFC championship by Ryan Clark. But still he comes back, stronger than ever.

14 total touchdowns in only 124 touches, rushing and receiving. Pretty damn impressive.

I am still p'd at the 2 Raven backs who made it all the way to the end zone at Dallas last year.   i think at least one was a fullback.   Ouch!

Then Dallas must suck because I've got a list of sb winners over the last ten years and the cowboys aren't on it, along with the Bengals and the Cardinals.  Infact, the Cardinals have been much more successful than the Cowboys recently  ;)

Jets win impressively. Nothing about the Bengals impressed me all season, to be honest. Even losing to them twice didn't change my opinion.

Deja vu from last weekend.....I expect the Packers to beat the Cards and make it a repeat in 3 of 3 games.

Dallas looks great right now.  Clicking on all cylinders and the pass rush will give Minn fits next week.

The Jets defense played very well. They will go as far as Mark Sanchez takes them. I'm curious to see how the Jets respond once Sanchez turns the ball over(and he will). His 20 int's during the regular season was the second highest in the NFL.

Seriously, had Sanchez only threw 14-15 int's, the Jets probably would have won 11 games this year. Great defense. I'm pulling for them since they have quite a few Ravens holdovers on the team. i,e....Bart Scott, Jim Leonard, Rex Ryan....

Not to mention that the Jets have a great, classy professional in RB Tony Richardson. 15 years in the league and still playing well. It's funny how the older I get, I start pulling for the older veterans and their respective teams more and more.

I wasn't aware of this until today.....

Peyton Manning and the Colts have an 0-3 history when they've had first round playoff byes. I know it's only one example but to me, that speaks volumes about the Colts. Essentially, most NFL teams seem to play better with a continuum heading into the playoffs. Momentum is so huge.

I think the Ravens chances are getting better and better. Like I already said, the Ravens have to win against the Colts at some point. Why not now? It could happen.

Just saying.....

LOL I dont buy into that shit yo might as well say they colts have to win a playoff game after a first round bye why not against the ravens?

different teams, different seasons shit doesnt transfer

Your flipside example doesn't really compare, in my opinion. The numbers and the history do not lie. Peyton and the Colts have never won a playoff game as either the #1 or #2 seed in their history. FACT.

To me, it tells me that they play better as a team with momemtum. Didn't they have the #2 seed in 2007 with the starters having a couple of weeks off before playoff time? How did that end up?

LOSS.

Not if Damarcus, Ratliff and Spencer get to No.4 early.   You never wish an injury   but it can come at any time in that game.   If Romo gets hurt  Kitna can keep the boat a float.  If Brett gets hurt its all back to the Vikes of 2008!!!

Congrats to Rex Ryan and the Jets. Ryan is a great coach to play for and his players always give him maximum effort.

The Jets are on quite a ride but facing Manning and the Colts on the road next week might be too much to handle.
