15.5 perhaps? Definately not more than that

My guess is you would look like a kid next to him. ;)
Lol @ weights btw.

Well...he is a bit taller than me. 15.5 arms are quite good size anyway.
By the way, I doubt you would be able to lift 310lbs over your head
-
Optical illusion, Oldfield was 6' 5", 275lbs. A smaller big man, but still huge, his arms were probably 19" or so. We're too use to looking at 250-300lbs midgits on this board:).

.
Here's a good video of of him. Wiry and dense, but not a small guy.

Was gonna say 18" but in that ballpark. When he turns to the side you get a better idea of their size. Who cares anyhow? Lou was a bb, probably just dabbling in that contest for exposure or whatever

Epic popping off about a guy who you know nothing about Brian Oldfield is FAR from small or weak. Do some research first.

Calm down, Gloria! Watch your blood pressure! ::)
Did not say he was small and weak. The title says he destroyed a famos bodybuilder in a feat of strength. Its just that his arms are not very big, about 15.5 inches to be exact. He is very very strong for having such a stick man pysique though. Thats all.
-
hahaha - stick man :D
-
Fk'ing right, Brian was the man in his day. Just a plain freak of nature. Watch videos of him dunking a shotput, or outsprinting a sprinter.
Strong and athletic, but didn't look like it....but thats why he was a freak
-
He sure as hell doesn't look strong and athletic here. ::)

Thin arms

yeah, because you need 22 inch arms to be strong and look atletic. ::)

No, but thats what people think. This is a great example of a guy with thin arms and monster strength, destroying bodybuilders egos.
-
what is weird is - this seemed to be a major thing at the time - today people do standing military press with that weight
-
Oldfield was an absolute nut but probably one the overall most athletic people ever

Obviously 310lbs was not his max. He did that with ease
-
He threw the shot 75'. He was one of the strongest men in the world back in the day. There is film of him easily beating a top ten female sprinter in the 100 yard dash. Brian high jumped 6' 6"; ran the 100M in 10.5; ran the 40 yard dash in 4.3 seconds. He was an elite world class athlete.
For the record he has push pressed over 400lbs. Big Lou was a strong bodybuilder but most are just drugged up bloated mirror athletes.

I miss the days where bodybuilders were more than just nonathletic, overweight, waddling, lumbering drug factories who only care about how they look in a mirror. In the 70's bodybuilders used to compete in the WSM all the time, and were scrutinized and made fun of for being slow, weak and nonathletic (rightfully so). It seems as though on this site all the schmoes could care less about strength, speed, athleticism, and power. Now as long as your 5'6" 300lbs of ripped bloated muscle regardless of all the previous attributes I mentioned, you will be adored and beloved.

Jay Cutler wouldn't even be able to lift the lightest of the atlas stones and his gut would explode in the attempt...and so would the oil filled arms

I just dont have as much respect for modern bodybuilders for mainly that reason. They are just useless walking chemical bags with no purposeful function, exept to impress all the guys on Getbig. What good is it being all show and no go?

When you look at big tits on a woman, you don't think "wow, those will feed an army!". You just go for the looks also. BB sells schmoe fantasy, not reality.
