There is this competition having place at my gym, to bench 100kg for one hour. Although I train for powerlifting I was able to do 249 reps.
But a friend of mine, did 237 reps 2 months ago... And when I arrived to the gym today I saw in the competitors list, that he did 358 reps. However no one saw him doing that, except the guy that organizes this competition. Could someone increase 151 reps in just 2 months... I challenged him to do it again but this time I would like to see it, but he refused...

yea sure...

220 lbs for one hour non stop?.
No fucking way ever. You an Adonis gimmick?
-
Offhand, I think he means in a rest-pause style. Another board I read(www.irongarmx.net) does them as a challenge around the holidays-
,
like how the guy in the video does them. Pick one lift and run it fast as you can for 30 minutes- 1 hour.

Me a gimmick? Don't make me laugh... of course it is with pauses. I normaly rested 40 seconds between sets.

They look like bench press reps...

4 reps per minute will get you to 240 already. Piece of cake after training this a few weeks.

So what do you consider a set?
4 reps per min? or other?

I started with 7 reps, then went lowering reps to 4... It is very hard. Every guy has its own strategy. Why don't you give it a try?

Sh!t bro. I couldn't do 100 in an hour. My left shoulder couldn't handle it.

I understand you 100%! I am used to train for powerlifting, using a close grip to protect my cuff rotator, but now that you mentioned it I have to say that my shoulder's injury came back after those 60 min!

I could do 100+ in 15mins
200ish in 60mins would be doable.

if you train for this sort of contest then yes you could increase by alot.
wouldnt surprise me if he did even more next time.
its just re-wiring the brain to fire differently- and that takes a few sessions/weeks.
it would be counter productive to mix in some "normal training" though.
