The NPC USA's is two weeks away, and already, there are over 500 competitors that will be competing here in Vegas.   It is going to be a great contest, with four new NPC men bodybuilders competitors (among many new NPC figure and bikini competitors) going to turn pro.

Hope to see some of you here...

July 30 & 31, 2010 Las Vegas, Nevada

Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall on the Campus of UNLV
4505 Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89154

Assume about 150-200 men bodybuilders, about 50-70 women bodybuilders, about 120-150 figure, and about 100 bikini. Give or take.  I dont know the exact numbers, but that is the trend lately.  Going to be an incredeible contest.

4 pro cards given for the men
6 pro cards given for bikini
6 peo cards given for figure
not sure how many for womens bb

Dont know about some of you, but having figure and bikini competitors at the contest makes it more balanced.

Balanced? In what way? You figure that if we go there to see a bodybuilding show we need a break somewhere along the way to see some tits and ass?

You noticed huh? You ever sat thru a BB show? It's long enough as it is without adding 3 more hours of the kind of thing I can see at a beach on the internet or at a local club. Is it supposed to somehow make everyone feel more manly now that there are women in bikinis on stage?

The NPC USA Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini contests.    In the last 7-8 years, figure was added to various contests, and now bikini.   I am pretty sure that you know that, since you do go to various contests.

Ron get real. You're a company man so while you may have  your own opinion about it you'll never be able to be honest about how you really feel.

How I really feel? Love the bikini and figure competitors - what can I say? Men bodybuilders garner the most attention though, because there are less physiques that can attain that freaky or symmetrical look out there.

Man can anyone enter this contest.  Sure does take away from the prestige I think.  I mean I bet 60% or more of those guys competing do not belong on stage with the others.  Shit, Goodrum should have entered

What kind of society do we live in where wearing a bikini can get oneself recognized as a professional!?

Pretty sure you need to place first or second in your class at a local contest to qualify for the NPC USAs.

Regarding the long number of hours spent as a spectator at the USA Championships ......

I'd say that most of the spectators are there to support friends or family members who are competing, so there is a big rotation of people coming and leaving throughout the contest. Hardly anyone ever stays for the entire event cept for Ron and the officials and others who are somehow involved with the contest.

Even the contestants will get out of there when they are no longer needed.

And ..... based on my personal observations a good number of spectators depart the auditorium once the ladies have completed the prejudging and/or finals stages.

I'm not positive about this but I would say that the ladies 'sell' more tickets (meaning that they put the asses in the seats) than the men themselves do, as once the ladies depart the stage, there seems to be a good number of vacant seats scattered throughout the auditorium.

For you guys and gals who live in LV or plan to be here prior to the contest, the UNLV ticket office is open during the week from  10 - 6 and from 10 - 4 on Saturday (closed Sundays unless there is a show that day) and will be selling USA tickets but expect to pay a bit more than the advertised price as there is some kind of entertainment tax involved. (For instance a $40 ticket will cost you something like $45 and it you order over the phone you have to pay an additional $2.50 telephone usage fee. These figures are estimates based on a recent call to the UNLV box office for another function.

For further ticket details go to .... http://pac.unlv.edu

But don't forget, you can purchase tickets by referring to the NPC USA Bodybuilding Championships web site or by visiting the ticket sales office during the weigh-ins at the Embassy Suites.

RON - How will they determine the FOUR pro card winners?

The winners of each men's division are then lined up at the end, and the judges choose the top four physiques.

See you there in a week, but first comes the NPC Los Angeles contest in Culver City, California.

beat, usa was once a very tough to win pro card ,, you had to win overall to move on, then they added 2 best due the fact overall was alway's heavyweight or super's, now there going to have 7 class winners then pare to 4 pro cards, in a way it gives a good middle or welter weight a pro card but thats what the nationals are for, each class winner goes pro.

Yes, Tamer El Guindy looked spectacular last year, I had him in the top three over Grigori Atoyan, but he didnt make it to being a pro even though he deserved it.  If there were four pro cards last year, Tamer would be a pro right now.

NPC Nationals is a great contest on the east coast.  NPC USA's is the best contest on the west coast.
