Title: Write that down...
Post by: tonymctones on September 12, 2010, 05:54:27 PM
like I said, the Texans win one of the if not the toughest divisions in the league this year the AFC SOUTH!!!!

on a side note, I went to a sports bar and it was standing room only and a pair of steelers fans(husband and wife) went out of their way to get me and my friend seats I mean way out of their way so steelers fans get a break but the steelers themselves still suck major ace  ;)

actually its more than one game b/c its a win against a divisional team, even if they beat us in the next meeting I doubt it will be by more than we beat them so if we have a tied division record we take the top spot...

The Texans problem last year was lack of a legit running game. The D is nasty, they have the best wr in the NFL and their QB is good enough to win a lot of games.

Manning is a beast. With him there is always a chance. That said, their D is the same old colts D of the last decade. Great early on; then the injuries hit. They already lost Sanders which is a huge blow. They can't stop the run, and back in the day, that was not much of an issue because they could score so many points. Problem is, in todays NFL everyone can score a lot of points.

I agree on all accounts Im still not sold on foster just yet he had a couple good games last season and one great one this week but he also had fumble problems last season too.

I still wish we would have picked up thomas jones, I think if we had him and foster our running game would be top notch.

Jones would have helped.

You dont need a big time running game. In todays NFL you need a running game that can keep the other team honest, because as you know, this is a passing leauge now.

I agree but I think it would definitely help, like i said Im not sold on foster just yet...he isnt a 3rd and short back even though we have vonte leach who is a monster and will put ppl on their asses he doesnt have the best hands  ;D

This is it. Kubiak has the team. If he does not take the division he should be fired.

I agree but at the same time I would hate to see us get so close and then turn around and go to a whole new system where we may end up taking 2 steps back  :-\

Could be the breath of fresh air they need. This system shit is overrated. If you've got the talent, you can win. Look at the colts. They dont do anything fancy, they just do what they do better than most everyone else.

I think that system plays a part, but in the end, its all about execution.

The titans look like a playoff team right now.

houston beat the colts at home without indy's best defensive player.

youre acting like they slaughtered indy at theyre place to take the division lead late in the season.

its going on week 2 ffs.

LMAO the titans look like a playoff team by beating the raiders? but the Texans dont by beating the AFC champs last year?

I agree there is still alot of football left to play but im just making predictions...you have ppl predicting superbowl winners but its odd for me to predict a division winner?

the titans mauled the raiders.

since starting vince young last year theyre 8-1.

The texans look equally as good however, the colts have always started slow.

I think youre jumping the gun a little.

LOL but youre ready to hand the titans a playoff birth after seeing them play one of the worst teams in the league?

I believe the titans and Texans were tied for the hardest schedule in the NFL for 2010...we already got a win against a team most thought we would lose to  ;) ;) ;)

we will see

this is a titans team with about 98% of the personnel from theyre 13-3 season when they were a fumble away from the afc title game.

what have the texans done? beat the colts once?

LOL we beat the titans last season by 2 games and for some reason you think the titans are going to the playoffs b/c they had a good season 2 yrs ago and beat the raiders...

I have never jumped on the bandwagon "this is our year" bs for the Texans I have always said they have as much or more talent than any other team in the league but they just couldnt put it together when it counts. This year however I am out in front if they dont win the division they make the playoffs

last year we would have been in the playoffs if not for 3 game winning missed field goal kicks i think 2 of which were inside 30 yds...

again you think the titans accomplishments from 2 yrs ago give them a playoff birth but the Texans who were 2nd in  our division last season and who would have given the colts a run for their money if not for their kicker(who we replaced) isnt deserving of one in your eyes?

LOL seems like you have a bias or something bro...I dont think many ppl if any would take your stance in this..

are you a titans fan?
Title: Re: Write that down...
Post by: 2ND COMING on September 14, 2010, 11:00:12 AM
yes, i think the success the titans had two years ago gives them an edge. They have unfinished business to tend to. They have higher expectations than beating the colts and squeaking in the post season for the first time EVER.

the only one with bias here is you champ, anointing the texans afc south champs after week 1  ::)

I do and I was being half hearted when I say that I do think they are definitely in the running and a hell of alot more so than the titans  ;)

i just saw this and ya it was a great game, i didnt think johnson was going to come down with that game tieing td...and then the skins missed their field goal attempt in overtime leaving the door open for our winning field goal...freaking awesome game I personally would like them to not go to overtime but man it was exciting...

so glad we got rid of our old field goal kicker he probably would have shanked that last one.

seriously great game, I live for this shit.  good stuff.

I'll add that some of the Broncos fans kid around a bit.  Up here, when someone talking about the Broncos says, "but guess what" the other person says, "McDaniels got fired and Kubiak got hired?"  LOL.... LOL it was not offensive pass interference they would have to call every little bit of contact if you called that little of contact... ::)

You're off base on this one my man. You can touch them, you just can't impede their progress in an unreasonable way. Ex: arm bar them, cut off their route, tackle them before the ball gets there, etc.

This was the worst pi call ever. No doubt about it. And I like the Texans!

You could not have that Patriots jag as a corner. He's horrible. They knew it was coming, too. I was talking to a friend from Houston about this today. Its time for Kubiak to go, there is no reason why the Texans should be in last place.

They have plenty of talent.

what is totally irritating to me is how we didnt even try to go for the touchdown the last time we had the ball.

We just ran it up the gut 3 times and kicked a field goal...With our defense we need to taking advantage of every touchdown attempt we get...

as soon as they kicked that field goal and there was like 2 mins left I got a empty feeling in my stomach...

Panthers will get Locker, Mallett or Luck in the draft....unless they really think Clausen is the deal.....he could be, but be a couple of years.  I don't think Bill would shy away from it.....they have a decent def to build on and could have one of the best running games in the league......close to home, his daughter is still dating that guy at Duke......ya never know.

LOL doubt it, but it really does seem that the Texans have lost their pep on the field beyond the D line and foster nobody else looks like they want to play.

My buddy swears the Patriots letting the Texans win last year (pulled their starters after Welker went down), and allowing them to go 9-7 is the reason Kubiak was extended.

Kubiak is like the employee that always does just enough to get by, or shows flashes of brilliance at times, but when it comes down to it, he/she can't dominate like you thought they could.

The Texans need a coaching change.

LOL I was at that game  ;D

kris brown shanked like 2 field goals that game and was named the player of the week or something LOL the fans had a blast with that one...

Ive come to find that kubiak doesnt have it in him, Like i said last week we should have been going for the kill we were on the 5 and just tried to take care of the ball when a touchdown would have given us the win.
