Multiple threads are combined on this forum all the time. That move takes a potentially fun thread, and mixes it up in a disorderly, jumbled mess of crap consisting of several threads.... effectively killing all threads added to the first.
Does this detestable bullshit bother anyone else?

It's Ron's house and we are all just guests here, as you know. He's made it clear that he doesn't care / will be ruthless with off-topic threads in the G&O, which is why the merging :-\

This is one thing that really grates on me. It ruins the continuity of a good thread and I don't see the purpose of it. I don't buy this "it's cluttering the board" stuff. Bad threads get ignored and fades away. When you mix them together it just gets confusing and doesn't make sense and potentially great threads just gets lost in the mix. Sure it's Ron's board but there would be no board without us. I have a feeling it's just one mod doing this but I really don't know who.

If we could have a Tall German repository thread like the Falcon used to have on G&O I think that would improve things.

I will merge threads if they are of the same topic, but also will move threads to their respective boards.
Come on, UFC 121 - 25 threads. They can be merged.
Would you hit it --> It can be merged.
And so on, especially off topic threads.
Bodybuilding and its related threads are not merged, as the main board is a 'bodybuilding' board.

Sure it can be merged but why? gh15's "pm question answered" will deal with the same general topic but the specifics will be very different. When they are merge it becomes very confusing. A UFC event consists of several matches and often different topics are addressed within the same match. I just don't know why you even bother. Interesting topics stay on the top and the rest are quickly ignore, disappearing by the end of the day if not within hours.
