He appears to be flying under the radar for now.  He hasn't said a whole lot or had much camera time, but what I've seen seems to be intelligent, rational and well thought out.

I loved the humiliation of David Cassidy in episode 1.
First he get pushed around duringthe task by the project manager then in the boardroom the PM apologises and says he was wrong to pick on the "little people"!.  David's response that he is 5ft 8 (more like 5ft 4) and 140 is so pathetic he owned himself into oblivion.  ;D

Man  I dunno that I could be in a group of women and deal with all the drama on any of these projects so far .. I know I would've already told old Ms.Warwick a thing or two ... Star Jones needs a swift swat .. NeNe seems to be two faced and I bet next week more of her smarmy side shows .. I'm impressed with Janet Jackson knowing enough to gather so many details on the campers and relay them so well  .. but Marlee Matlin still shines for me on the girls team ... I was very impressed that Niki Taylor took the hit for losing with no scene made about it at all !!

Jose C. is lacking any ambition to even attempt an effort to help out .. Gary Busey was so disconnected sometimes I thought the men would lose for sure .. I loved that John Rich spoke up about anyone "dissin" his fanbase .. and Meatloaf seems like a good guy !!
Mark McGrath is not my cuppa tea at all I think he's a little sniper .. sorta immature for being a grown man IMO

Donald Trump Gets Weirder
By GAIL COLLINS

Donald Trump has run faux campaigns for president before, flirting with the Democrats and independents. This time, he’s playing a conservative Republican. By 2016, he’ll probably be talking about his affinity for the Alaskan Independence Party or the Whigs.

And, of course, he’s suddenly a birther. “This guy either has a birth certificate or he doesn’t,” he said of President Obama. “I didn’t think this was such a big deal, but, I will tell you, it’s turning out to be a very big deal because people now are calling me from all over saying: please don’t give up on this issue.”

It was a perfect vocalization of the New York Street: People are calling me up! Don’t believe everything you hear, unless it comes over the phone.

In a potential Republican field that includes Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich, it’s hard to come up with a line of attack loopy enough to stand out from the pack. But darned if Trump didn’t manage to find one.

“If he wasn’t born in this country, it’s one of the greatest scams of all time,” Trump told Bill O’Reilly, who demurred: “I don’t think that’s the case.”

Vote for Donald Trump, the man who can make Bill O’Reilly look like the most sensible guy in the room.

Trump’s main argument for why he should be taken seriously as a presidential contender is his business success. Has Obama ever hosted a long-running reality series? Owned a bankruptcy-bound chain of casinos? Put his name on a flock of really unattractive high-rise apartment buildings? No!

“By now my name is big enough and equated with the gold standard to the extent that I don’t have to say too much about it,” wrote Trump in one of his books, before going on to say a lot more about it. He is extremely sensitive to any gibes about his business record, which has been up and down over the years.

During one down period, I referred to him in print as a “financially embattled thousandaire” and he sent me a copy of the column with my picture circled and “The Face of a Dog!” written over it.

Trump was one of the first people I interviewed when I came to New York as a reporter back in the ’80s when he was a developer-wunderkind who had started in the business with nothing but a smile, a dream and his father’s large holdings in real estate.

He’s still promoting, 24/7. Some people believe that his presidential flirtations are an attempt to draw viewers to his TV show, “Celebrity Apprentice.” In it, people who are alleged to be famous compete for money for their favorite charities and what one former contestant revealed was a salary of $16,000 apiece. That isn’t much for network TV work, but since one of this year’s celebrities, disgraced former steroid-using baseball player Jose Canseco, recently tried to make a $5,000 fee by sending his brother to impersonate him in an exhibition boxing match, you have to figure it comes in handy.

“Celebrity Apprentice” is widely regarded as terrible and cheesy programming, but, actually, it has its moments. I recently saw an episode in which a former top model had a serious discussion with a fellow competitor about whether this was the 20th century or the 21st. You can’t get stuff like that on “Mad Men.”

The series is a perfect reflection of Trump himself: an orgy of product-placement and personal aggrandizement. All the contestants, including the ones in their 70s, have to refer to their host as “Mr. Trump.” They all somberly devote themselves to making faux commercials about whatever enterprise has coughed up cash for a major mention that week. Then it’s off to the boardroom where people talk ceaselessly about their performance in order to stretch the whole enterprise into a low-cost, two-hour show.

When you think about it, “Celebrity Apprentice” has a lot in common with the current Republican presidential campaign. Endless blathering. Strange contenders who did something vaguely notable in 1986. And Donald Trump, looking extremely cheerful.

Beyond having the moral fortitude to tell Dionne Warwick she is fired, Trump’s qualifications for being president of the United States include having co-written a large number of books, including “Think Big and Kick Ass” (“People always ask me: ‘How did you get so rich?’ ”) and “Never Give Up.” (“This book is about a subject near and dear to my heart — never giving up.”)

To establish his birther creds, this week Trump produced his own birth certificate, after one failed attempt in which he came up with a document that was too weak to qualify for a passport. By the time he worked things out, we had an entire news cycle devoted to Donald Trump having been born in New York.

Now, let’s try asking to see his tax returns.

Big Rich was impressive as the PM. Didn't know him before the show but he handles himself well. Gary Busey is being kept on by Donald for his entertainment value. But honestly, it is sad watching him trying to be the person he once was and only being a shell. Even his acting in the TV Phone commercial was ludicrous and over the top bad. He played a 5 yr old kid much better because he is a 5 yr old kid now.

Loved Meatloaf's Bat out of Hell album and a couple since then... Man's got a temper but I can see how Busey would push buttons on most people. He owned up afterwards. Lil Jon who I never heard before the show has impressed me as well.

Marlee Matlin is the best of the women. Star Jones is effecient but self centered. When her and Dionne argued for credit on the cover of the book I was stunned. What egomaniacs.

The only gripe I have with the show is Donald changes the criteria year to fit his ratings/agenda. First year, Piers beats Trace by beating him in fund raising. The next season he changes it so Joan Rivers(who couldn't raise any real money) can beat Annie Duke with a non fund raising finale. Annie would have beaten Joan by a landslide. I understand Brett Michaels winning season 3 due to the brain injury and Donald rewarded Holly(the better fund raiser) anyway. But what is the criteria this year? If it's pure earning power, Rich and Marlee are shoe-ins for the finale. I have a feeling Star will face off with Marlee though. Amazing amount of money raised last night though. Pretty sure if there wasn't a 99,000$ limit Michaels shirt would have went through the roof.

I disagree .. I think Trump genuinely appreciates Busey's eccentricities and sees how he can play them up .. I thought he handled the scene with Meatloaf amazingly well .. I dunno how I'd react with someone screaming like that at me over something I knew I had nothing to do with

I agree with Lil Jon and  John Rich being stand up guys and they do show drive when doing the tasks .. Mark McGrath hasn't shown much but sure seems to be a rabble rouser

I think Marlee will stand her ground against Star pretty good .. Star seems to be vying for praise and reward all the time .. I was surprised LaToya gave up the shirt and I thought for sure it would get more money that it did .. the $99 K limit was for credit cards I thought ? (Big Kenny and Two Foot Fred gave a $495K check for Johns guitar).. she may have gotten a whole lot more if not for that and the lack of time to advertise the sale

I thought Richard handled his departure with dignity.

I thought it was a bit odd in the beginning when the Donald made the crack about Gary ... I was thinking to myself he may have seen the footage and saw Gary propositioning the suntan folk and so I kinda felt it was Gary's finale then

I'll be interested to watch the men make a come back .. or not .. Meatloaf being speechless in comparison to his meltdown over his art supplies was "different" ... John Rich carried on a bit TOO much over the "boy" thing .. Gary came off as an ASS by trying to say he said C'boy  ::)  oh brother !

The tension building with NeNe / LaToya / Star is getting fun to watch :D

A lot of it is in the editing, but some of that $#!t ya just can't make up ;D  I wonder if Gary really believes half the stuff he says and if he remembers it  ???  I think JR had him pegged - saboteur.

LaToya won't last much longer since no one supports her.  Same with that model chick.  She's been conveniently and conspicuously flying under the radar.

Star will outlast NeNe, but Marlee will probably outlast them both.

The Playboy bunny is evading a lot .... I think the final 2 will be John Rich and Marlee Matlin

I'm intrigued to see how Star becomes more helpful as the team whittles down more and tasks need to be handled more effectively by less people .. so far she likes to sit and play with graphics while she eats

I can't remember .. but do they combine teams or begin individual tasks when there are fewer left ? .. and at what point if so ?

Trump is pretty inconsistant. He says he fires people based on their performance on a task. Then fires Latoya because she was the weakest link and it was only fair to the others. Where the hell was that logic for the last 4 weeks of Busey? It was obviously missing. It has to be frustrating for the players to watch Trump invent new reasons to justify his decisions each week. I think the girls lost because they had more players and the execs wanted to even the teams. Latoya went because she is the least controversial.

This task was not appropriate for Celebrity Apprentice, maybe the regular show, but not this one.  No wonder they all sucked at it.

Him making up the rules as they go along is becoming annoying.  If he were basing it on FUTURE tasks, then Gary should have gone when EVERYONE was begging him to get rid of him.

I agree, both teams sucked on the hotel task.  Star was clearly the one to blame 100%.  NeNe is complete ghetto trash, but Star is no better.  She just presents herself better.

Trump is such a chauvinistic, pompous ass.

Ironically Trump is playing the ultimate professional businessman in his role or boardroom CEO but then makes sexist remarks that would get most people fired. I wish someone had the balls to call him on it.. They just all give that "look".. Even Starr Jones sits there and smiles whle he talks about her ass..

That was really rude!  So was the comment to Lisa Rinna before she got fired.

And the presidential remarks were totally out of line too.

NeNe = what a loser for walking out.  ::) but gotta agree on everything she said about Star.  Glad she's gone too.

Tonight should be good with the 3 returning winners.

Both look like great campaigns.  The previews for next week look like Def Lepard isn't coming through.

I've really been impressed with lil Jon

I think so too.  He's got a better team and I think he's better a businessman.

This.

Honestly, If he picks Marlee, in some way, it's a PR thing. Not to say she isn't qualified or anything like that.
