I hear what you're saying ... and with all things being equal, sure, the pro fighter will emerge victorious. But there are MANY aspects to a real fight that need to be understood. And laws of nature. Poundstone is SO much larger and SO much stronger and his frame SO much sturdier that, in all likelihood, a man like GSP would get destroyed through sheer force and blunt trauma.
I really like how MMA tap-outters want to redefine laws of mass and strength and brute force. We are not talking about the sport of fighting here, which an athlete like GSP engages in, but rather, a real-world altercation that happens spontaneously and with zero rules. There is zero doubt these MMA pros are gifted and dangerous men in a street fight, but up against someone so much their superior in size, strength and so forth, the technique and experience would be, at best, attributes that could conceivably keep them from getting dead.
Look at how a bear mauls a human. Like that. Again, lucky punch or kick? Sure, why not. However, chances are, the bear is gonna smother the adversary and beat him to a pulp. Too much force. Too much to overcome.
The natural world is full of harsh realities. Accept this.

THis right here. I will tell u a funny story. A group of us from the gym was at a bar having some drinks. A well respected MMA fighter/instructor was standing next to us. He started picking on one of the biggest and youngest guys with us. He was calling him big steroid bitch. The young guy was getting pissed and I told him to let it go bc that guy would kill him. He said fuck that and out of no where he hits the MMA guy in the nose and drops him. I told him to get the hell out of there. The medics had to come attend to the MMA guy and they said his nose was broken. So fights are very unpredictable and sometimes it is who gets the first strike in.

But as in swooping away the legs and moving forward, no problem. Unless poundstone has a solid 10 years of training in wrestling he would be on the ground within the first 3 sec in one way or another.

I am not suggesting I am superfighter-of-the-world, but what I am saying is, yes, I know how "strong" a top wrestler can be. And, no, GSP could NOT slam Poundstone in the way you suggest. He could take him down, yes, but not, again, what you describe.

Exactly. Many ultra-strong guys can get away in a fight with minimal fight experience. I have worked on and off as a doorman/bouncer for 20 years and have seen MANY instances where this is so. And we're not talking elite strength athletes like Poundstone, either. Just muscular dudes who are superior to the average man.
GSP wouldn't have a huge chance for victory (let alone preserving his life) against a man 150 pounds heavier than him, and infinitely more powerful.

The only way a small guy can win a big guy is if he has alot more fire power. You gotta get control within the first 2 minutes otherwise the big guy has a clear endurance advantage.
Basic math he's pushing around 2 3rds of his weight your pushing 1 and half times your weight, that translates to him pushing 1 average guy and you pushing around 2 average guys.

Our best Polish powerlifter (2382 pounds total on ipf rules) is rumoured to sometimes, after competition drink with friends in a bar or club and get ultra berserk after few shots. It's said to be fucking massacre. And since nowadays every second Polish guy is MMA expert and BJJ fighter it pretty much tells you what those techniques are worth.
What you dont get it is that in MMA there are rules. In street fight there aint no rules. If guy of Poundstone size and strength punches you and you get dizzy you're done. You won't get second chance. If you fail to block him as he approaches he could as well grab your hair and start throwing your 200lbs body all over the place like you were some fucking plastic doll.

Normally I might agree with you but in this case no way. Poundstone is not only one of the worlds strongest men (advantage 1) he's also a cop also trained to fight (advantage 2) and the fact he weighs 330 + pounds makes him a deadly mother f**ker (advantage 3).

Just watched a couple of his fights on youtube,the guys got some good takedown skills and very good endurance for such a big man.In no time at all he`s won an heavyweight title in the UCMMA ,in a similar fashion to how Brock did in the UFC.
