Is it possible that Chris was nervous for the interview? Jeff introduced me to Chris on Saturday at the end of the expo and he seemed fine. It's kind of odd to hear him stumbling like this because he spoke well when I saw him. He was down in size but nothing crazy. Pretty much what I would expect from a retired pro who still trains and follows bodybuilding.

Unfortunately Chris' right triceps would prevent him from achieving the success he once had. Plus he is 44 now. I think he did the right thing to retire and stick around the industry and make some money that way. I think he could still do well though, just not as well as he once did.

I don't think Chris was underrated. He sure had all the talent in the world but he failed to fill the expectations. Only once he was able to bring his a-game at the Olympia(1999). Most of the time he would wind up getting places 6-8th(six times at the Olympia!) and guys like Flex, Shawn, Kevin and Nasser beat him easily.
I laughed when they talked about mental toughness. That would be one of last phrases I would use to describe Chris Cormier.
How about all genetics, drugs and narcotics ;)

He was huge, but he looked good at the same time and held his mass well which is rare. He didnt have the freaky chemical factory look to him either and had kind of an olschool type build with the massive chest and cut midsection. People seem to love the freak veins and weird proportions these days so they forgot about how big he was because he wasn't a schmoes wet dream. Excellent bodybuilder and had a unique streamlined physique.

I know it is... listen again. At the very beginning. At :29 Skip say's "Perennial Champion, so many years, Chris "Chrome" eeay... I shit you not.
It is "Cor-me-ay, just like you said. I have heard it pronounced wrong so many times, but seriously, listen again. Skip acts like he is forgetting who he is talking to for a moment, and then Chris say's his own name (correctly) but he is talking about someone else.

I don't even know if he'd be able to bang that sentence out, bro.
Poor fella is so far gone. G'd out to the tits and always drunk as hell. It's a shame because he had one of the best physiques of all time. Only problem is he was hitting his peak at the same time at Levrone, Chihuahua, Yates, Coleman started coming up, tons and tons of quality physiques. He just got lost in the mix.

I just watched the youtube interview and don't know what you are all on about. CC has never been any different, he is not far gone, that is just how he speaks. I have seen him at his best and worst and have interviewed him dozens of times. So to judge him on that interview is just ignorant.
Chris is in a good place right now and knows this sport better than most. As a trainer he has a lot to offer and if he was training top level competitors, the top bodybuilders would have the look you all talk about. Chris never had a bloat, never unbalanced or never had suspicious muscles. If you are ever in Venice, book in and train with CC he knows training better than anyone.

Bottom line i believe he STILL has something to offer BBing with his Experience etc make a Excellent trainer some of the New Generation of BBers could look too as someone whos been there done that, on a side note thats a Great couple pics of Dorian and Chris Relaxing and having a Great time long after there BB primes are done with 8) and bye the looks they had a REAL GOOD time ;)

I met Chris in Amsterdam once. Later that day I went to a coffeeshop for a spliff and there he was again. He was really really a good guy. We laughed like hell. He was not drunk. That was Levreonax thing. MDMA and the other stuff was quite common back a decade ago. All pros were doing it.
