Title: 49ers
Post by: wild willie on October 14, 2011, 09:28:12 AM
They really seem to be doing well under Harbaugh.

Frank Gore runs like someone owes him money!

I like their chances against Detroit.

Totally rejuvenated team....one of the nastiest def's in the NFL right now.  Great matchup with Detroit.

49ers are getting better each week....they will be very competitive by November.....Maybe even reaching the playoffs. IMHO

Too early to drink the kool-aid just yet. Alex Smith is likely due for a meltdown at some point in the season. Defense is solid for sure.

Agree.  He started strong last year and faded.  Definitely have a wait-and-see approach with him.

From what I can see on all the shows, most are predicting the 49ers to win and Detroit is only getting 1/4 of the votes or so.

Team looks better now under Harbaugh than it ever did with Singeltary. I loved Mike though, too bad he couldn't do anything like Harbaugh has.

it was over the top, but why chase the guy down...just talk about it in the press conference or local media.  A coach should be above that.  But obviously the guy has the Lions going in the right direction, good for him.

Wait a minute......

Harbaugh beat the lions....everyone has been drinking lion kool aid......the 49ers have been down for a bit too.....Harbaugh has the 49ers running at top speed now! He is the guy that has literally turned two different teams around: Stanford and now the 49ers.....He is the guy that is doing well!!!!

The 49ers defense is top notch....but all you hear about is the lions D.....Well.....Frisco proved that they were ready for the lions.....and beat them in Detroit no less. Just my .02.

Its really good to see the Lions winning.  Detroit (the city) needs more of it.

But, its even better to see the Niners playing at the level they are playing.

It shows the effect good coaching can have on a team especially when you consider Singletary was 0-5 with virtually the same players.

Some interesting notes (i realize this is more defense than QB):

Smith has brought the niners back to win in the 4th quarter in 3 away games this year.  the last QB to do that was Joe Montana.

Also, Smith after the philly game last year went 7 TD's and 1 interception for the rest of the year and in the first 6 this year is 8 TD's and 2 Int's.

So we cant blame Smith's QB play totally on Harbaugh being a QB whisperer.

Interesting stuff.  Didn't realize that about Smith's production last year.

I was able to watch the entire game and he was pretty good, except for a few pretty bad passes.  He targeted Crabtree 15 times (I think).

With their defense playing the way it is, they could definitely make the playoffs this year.  Need to keep Gore and their WR group healthy.

Poor Singletary.  I was a big fan of his, but their success this year with pretty much the same players is really making him look pretty bad.

How's it going bro?!!! Anyway Smith is doing much better, but the scheme that Harbaugh has him doing (3 step drop and quick throw) has reduced his fumbling and interceptions. But his accuracy is still off. He's got this year left and I don't know if they'll re sign him again. That probably means we're going to give up the farm for Luck if the owners and Harbaugh really want him. I know Luck would love to stay in the Bay Area and be under Harbaugh again as well as there wouldn't be a lot of learning to do under the system. Here's hoping for the best.

I wish Crabtree had a better QB throwing him the ball. He's on my fantasy roster as a bench player. He's got the talent to be a star. He comes off as a bit of a diva, but that should change as he matures. He had his best game this season against Detroit. I just think Alex Smith is mediocre at best and the only reason he's starting is because he was a former #1 overall pick.

I pretty much agree.

Crabtree is a good player.  The good news for you is he appears to be replacing the TE as Smith's favorite target.

Regarding Smith...that 4th down TD pass in the final quarter was clutch. So who knows what that will do for his confidence. He was absolute stud on the college level but there's plenty of evidence that shows that it doesn't always translate to the pro level.

I'm not a believer in him yet either. Post up all the stats you want, in the end, I'm seeing Harbaugh having a tremendous influence on him because whether the numbers show it or not, Smith didn't look like this on a regular basis last year. We still have plenty of games and time left for the old A. Smith to return...but I hope that guy is benched!

Best start in over a decade, of course I'm excited and can't be disappointed with that. :) They started off decently the last season or two, but then tanked. So far we're proving we're for real, especially with last weeks win.

I know its VERY early, but SF might be the only nfc team to give the Packers a go.  They can pound the ball with Gore and keep the Packers offense off the field.  The Eagles have the talent, but not sold on the defensive skeem they run.

Agree with you on all accounts. Every play I hold my breath thinking the A. Smith of old could/might come back for an appearance. I think Harbaugh has done a great job of at least staving off that possibility for the longest amount of time.

Harbaugh being a fairly successful QB himself in the NFL, is smart in keeping the playbook scaled down to Smith's abilities. Big running game with Gore and Hunter and lot's of play action. I think Crabtree would be a monster for you guys if he had an above average QB throwing him the ball.

Terrific season.  I would have never predicted 13-3.  This is a really good football team.  Alex Smith held it together for 16 weeks.  He wasn't asked to do much and didn't have a 300 yard passing game, but he "managed the game."  Very happy after 16 weeks, for a change.   :)

Harbaugh should be the unanimous choice for coach of the year.

Agreed on all points except maybe one; Smith did tank a few times but not nearly as much as in the past or as I (and many others expected).

Harbaugh is said to be the Coach of the year for what he's done with the team. And though I can't really say I'm not biased but I can't think of another coach that did something similar either. He brought back a team that was horrible last year, completely turned it around winning the division and did so with pretty much the same crew Singletary had. And the last few weeks we lost a few players and still managed to hold it together.

Harbaugh, SF thanks you! 8)

Securing a first round bye today was icing on the cake for me. I never expected the 9ers to win the division much less make a first round bye. Even they they lost the week after next, I would be content and looking forward to next season since they've exceeded much more than I even expected.

Agree.  I actually would have been happy with 8-8 or 9-7.  Now they have a legit shot to make it out of the NFC with that defense.  They'll have their hands full with GB or NO, but should be a great game.

Jim Harbaugh a 'home run' for 49ers
January, 7, 2011

By Mike Sando
The San Francisco 49ers are getting a hard-charging, schematically brilliant head coach whose philosophy suits the team's existing personnel perfectly.

As a bonus, Jim Harbaugh has also clashed famously with Seattle coach Pete Carroll, meaning NFC West fans can expect more edge to the 49ers-Seahawks rivalry.

That was the word Friday from ESPN college football analyst and former NFL quarterback Brock Huard, who would know. Huard worked two Stanford games this past season and followed the Pac-10 closely even before his days as a quarterback at the University of Washington in the 1990s. His brother, Damon, went to camp with the 49ers under previous coach Mike Singletary. Huard works during the week as a radio host on 710ESPN Seattle.

"I think hiring Jim Harbaugh is a home run in every way for the 49ers," Huard said.

Let us count the ways, according to Huard:

Offensive scheme. Huard: "Harbaugh likes the power run game, be physical, hit you in the mouth. The 49ers drafted two big linemen and they have a sledgehammer back when healthy. Many of the pieces schematically are in hand, unlike what he would have encountered at Michigan or other places. San Francisco will fit him really well personnel-wise, minus the quarterback."

Clear philosophical vision. Huard: "He is a guy who has tremendous staff and knows exactly what to do offensively, and he has a mind's eye for what he wants to do defensively. He fired his defensive coordinator at Stanford and got Vic Fangio. On offense, his identity is going to be built around the power run game, play-action pass and a physical presence."

NFL mindset. Huard: "Harbaugh to the NFL is no surprise for me. Being with him twice this year and having him rave about the NFL being the highest level of football with the cutting-edge schemes, the best of the best, it did not surprise me at all."

NFL-ready coaching staff. "His staff and so many of his hires over past few years are very much NFL guys. He hired Vic Fangio, who did brilliant things on defense -- 8.8 points per game against (over their past five games). And then he ran a 3-4 defense in Baltimore with the Ravens. Very aggressive, very blitz-friendly. The 49ers have the personnel in their front seven to run that."

Mastery of Xs and Os. Huard: "One of his graduate assistants is a guy I played with in Indy, Aaron Moorehead, the receiver. He said that they were doing things at the college level that a) you never imagined you could do at the NFL level and b) his depth of knowledge on Xs and Os is incredible." A rival college coach told Huard his team studied Stanford's running game and charted running plays from 30 different personnel groups and formations.

Hard-driving personality. Huard: "His personality is evident in how he handled the Orange Bowl postgame press conference, how he handled the media there. That personality is probably better suited for the NFL game, where Bill Belichick has shown personality doesn't matter as long as you win."

Tireless work ethic. Huard: "What people didn’t recognize was that Harbaugh was as relentless as anybody in college football in recruiting. He understood what it took to win at that level. Now, he can use the energy where his passion is just as rich, and that is in the Xs and Os of the NFL game. He is thrilled to match wits with the best of the best, 24-7. Having a quarterback who could handle it at Stanford, he pushed the envelope schematically beyond the rest of the conference."

Fans of the 49ers should be hopeful, in other words. Harbaugh's offensive expertise and passion for offensive diversity will stand in stark contrast to the simplified approach former Singletary implemented.

Matt Williamson of Scouts Inc. saw some of the same positives Huard outlined. He also offered words of caution based on his own experiences working under another successful former college head coach.

"I was hired by Butch Davis in Cleveland and he was the best in the group of college coaches, and he didn't do well there," Williamson said. "All those guys, they took a college view of how to acquire talent. It is just so much different. Knowing the league is so important. All those things with Harbaugh are very unproven to me. Yesterday, people were talking about Miami making him the highest-paid coach in the NFL. To me, that would be insane."

The 49ers reportedly will pay Harbaugh $25 million over five seasons, less than Carroll is getting from the Seahawks and less than what the Dolphins were reportedly offering.

"The 49ers were the worst schematic team in the league," Williamson said. "That starts with Singletary and goes down to the way they handle quarterbacks, put together game plans, have no stability. Harbaugh will erase all that. He is worth more to the Niners than any other team in the league."

Harbaugh has roots in the San Francisco Bay Area. His hiring should resonate locally.

"Last year, their fan base had to be champing at the bit because the NFC West looked so winnable, and there was no more disappointing team," Williamson said. "These were same old Niners who stunk since Steve Young left. Then they bring in a guy who has been extremely successful in that area of the country and it is good for ticket sales and all the off-field business things. They have always been the passive team who doesn't make the big move. Now, they spent the money and got the guy everyone else wanted."

Terrific season.  I would have never predicted 13-3.  This is a really good football team.  Alex Smith held it together for 16 weeks.  He wasn't asked to do much and didn't have a 300 yard passing game, but he "managed the game."  Very happy after 16 weeks, for a change.   :)

Harbaugh should be the unanimous choice for coach of the year.

sounds like the 2001 steelers, great defense with a qb that can only manage the game

saints will beat the 49ers in two weeks

No more assuming................ it's on! The 9ers really need to establish long drives and make sure to get to Brees and knock his ass down to even have a decent chance.

Saints are laying -3 on the road.

I like the 49ers in this game on a grass field behind a strong running game. The Saints have had trouble stopping the run this season. The 49ers D is no joke.

I like NO... They are firing on all cylinders and have a running and passing game that is probably the best in the league, but the 49ers will not get pushed over. They will come to play and could definitely edge out a win if a turnover or two goes their way.

Look for the Smith brothers to harass Brees, and the D getting some INT's.

If Smith can audible some screens it might slow their blitzing.

I see Harbaugh unveiling some new twists we haven't seen all year.

The saint's o-line could be the best in the nfl. They are MASSIVE and have very few flaws. Not sure the niners dline will be riding roughshod on the saints oline.

The saint's will not be in the dome but san fran is one of the most temperate climates in the country. I've only seen the niners play once but I don't understand the confidence coming from you niner fans. The niners d is stingy, and tops in the nfl, but the best passing offense in the HISTORY of the league is coming to your house. Simmer down.

Just being optimistic, I know.  But here's a couple other points:

They are 4 and 1 versus playoff teams.

They played the Saints well last year and they are much better this year on both sides of the ball.

I would never bet this even with points and logically see the Saints winning.

Agreed. I am worried about the game. I'm happy as all hell that we're in the playoffs and certainly don't want to see them lose in the first game! But I'm certainly worried.

The NO offense is ludicrous and even with the Niners D being as good as they've been (especially against the Run) I still think the Niners D will have it's hands full.

Nobody in their right mind is denying this and all SF fans know we will have to battle for our (playoff) lives out there this Saturday.

Can we win? I think so. Is it a sure thing that NO will win? This is where I have confidence in saying no. This game is NOT guaranteed to be won by New Orleans.

not a namebrand san fran squad, so the buck stops next week.  just easier for the nfl to dictate the game vs the giants or packers vs facing a high powered saints team which could go on a run against either one. saints are gone, so now, they can play their storyline for the giants or pac.  hows is the pre game going?  pac for 2 or eli dedicating this play off to peyton?

Two 49ers fans shot for cheering on team

No one should be shot for doing this. (Getty Images)
Two men were shot yesterday for cheering the San Francisco 49ers late, game-winning touchdown at a Georgia Applebee's on Saturday. No, this really happened.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Christopher Middleton and Corey Adams watched Saturday's NFC playoff game at an Applebee's in Duluth, Ga. When they cheered for the 49ers, Donald Ray Ayro, a New Orleans Saints fan who was eating good in the neighborhood took offense and exchanged words with Middleton and Adams.
"The only thing me and my buddy said was, we were excited that the 49ers scored," Adams said. "It was only one touchdown."
Ayro paid for his food and told Adams and Middleton that he would be back for them. Adams brushed it off, until Ayro made good on his promise, confronted the two in the parking lot, and allegedly shot them. Adams was grazed by the bullet, and Middleton was hit in the abdomen and is in critical condition.
Not long after the shooting, police arrested Ayro and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault, being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

People. It's just a game. It's a wonderful, exciting game that we build our lives around, but nonetheless, it's just a game. Let's stop hurting each other over it, and enjoy it in peace, OK?

not a namebrand san fran squad, so the buck stops next week.  just easier for the nfl to dictate the game vs the giants or packers vs facing a high powered saints team which could go on a run against either one. saints are gone, so now, they can play their storyline for the giants or pac.  hows is the pre game going?  pac for 2 or eli dedicating this play off to peyton?

The same non-name brand squad you speak of are the same guys that took down the Saints, who had more yardage than the Pack.

Everyone counted us out at the beginning of the season. We went 13-3. Everyone thought we lost yesterdays game last week when the Saints won. We won. Everyone (this time including me) thought we lost when Graham caught the last TD pass. But Smith and Davis pulled through.

We've proved people wrong all year. I'm happy with what we've done all year. Even if we don't win next week, this season has been a HUGE success on a number of levels. If we make it all the way...we will have done something very little if anyone has ever done before; win with a rookie head coach.

And while I'm at it...can you please shut the fuck up with your conspiracy theories? In regards to the NFL, your ass must be jealous of all the shit your fingers type. Thank you...have a nice day and learn how to watch a pre-game show. :)

We've already taken care of them once this year.  Our defense is too good. Our offense is too good. Our coaching is too good.  Our talent is too much for any team to handle.

Yeah that eli.The eli who had the most 4th quarter touchdowns this year in league history. The eli who passed for nearly 5k yards. The eli who led an offense with the most passing plays of 30 yards or more in the nfl including green bay. The eli with a ring? Yeah thats him.

Well, that Eli is the still the same one that faced the Niners and lost.

He will have his hands full, just as Brees (who is a better QB than Manning) and the Niners beat him too.

Come this time next Sunday, let us see who won!

He faced the Packers and lost in the regular season too.

This keeps getting stated like it matters.   It doesn't.  And it's not like the regular season win was a dominant performance either.

Anyone who thinks one of these team is going to destroy the other is just guessing or a complete homer.  These teams are closely matched, and more balanced than the other teams in the playoffs.

I never said either team will destroy one another. So, you read into somewhere ::)

The fact that Eli has already lost to the Niners is mentioned not as a sole point as to why the Gmen could  lose again but to point  out webeat the team once so it  is possible todo so again. As i said elsewhere in another thread, when the Saints came marching into SF; everyone already tagged the Saints as the winner because of Brees throwing the ball so well. That didnt work out so well.

It will be a great game just as the NO/SF game was. And to reiterate, i never stated it will be a blowout, anywhere. But i back up and maintain that i have 100% confidence that the Niners CAN win. (Theres a difference between can win and willwin, for the  typical getbig reader).

Of course they can win.  I can't imagine that anyone outside of the biggest Giant homers would actually believe they couldn't.

Should be a great game. Good defenses, neither really give up big plays often, both have good coaches. I give the NY offense an edge over SF, but the special teams of SF are better than NY. I do believe field position will be a big factor in this game. We'll know who makes the SB next week.

Agreed.  I think these teams are the most balanced teams left on both sides of the ball.  But SF has been this way more consistently over the course of the season than the Giants have.

I am trying to temper my excitement after watching the Giants all year, but they're really making a case to convince me the team of the last few weeks is the real thing.

Stop the run and harass Eli into throwing picks. They did it this year already. Are the Giants better than week 13? Maybe, but Alex Smith is better too. I'll take the 9ers secondary over the Giants secondary. I'll be here if the 9ers lose, but make sure you're here if they win. I won't be crying because I ONLY expected a winning season and not a playoff game at all. But if the Giants lose, you'll here a lot of whooping from me since the 9ers will have truly eclipsed expectation.

Stop the run and harass Eli into throwing picks. They did it this year already.

If you looked at the stats from that game, the giants won in every aspect except the turnover battle and field position. Total yards, passing and rushing, sacks and 3rd down completion %. The giants even completed 2/3 4th down attempts. This is with no ahmad bradshaw and under completely different circumstances. The giants are as healthy and up for the challenge as they're ever going to be.

Let's face it, in the heat of the moment; nfc title on the line, this giants team won't be fazed.  They've played in big time, meaningful games  in a hostile atmosphere before. If I'm a 49er fan, after that emotional win, the first playoff win in a decade against the vaunted saints offense..I'm a little worried that we might have just won OUR superbowl. The giants, (even though coming off an injury plagued season with starters missing more games than any team in the league) have higher expectations than winning a playoff game. The 49ers are playing with house money right now.
Title: Re: 49ers
Post by: Oldschool Flip on January 21, 2012, 11:14:09 PM
If you're talking stats then look at points given up per game. 49ers 17 and Giants 24. Regardless of yards, throws, completion average, etc. all that really matters is the score. Whether by 1 point or 20 points, the team with the highest score wins. I like the 9ers chances at home.
As for Bradshaw, he and Jacobs combined for the worst rushing team in the league. So adding him back in doesn't mean much to the number one rushing defense.
Game on tomorrow. Like I said I'll be here to discuss the game whether the 9ers win or lose.

Weather is a bit cold, for SF that is it's warm summer weather for NY!

I like our chances going into this game. Both teams are different from their earlier meeting and like Flip says, even taking all the stats out of the equation it's winning the game that matters. Last I checked the Giants finished 9-7 versus the Niners 13-3.

Let's go Niners!!! Let's do this!

Best of luck to Flip and Youngblood.  Both are stand up, true fans, and I know how it sucks for them right now.  We've all been there, and I sympathize.

9ers defense is freaking sick, and IMO, played good enough to win.  Giants D was equally impressive, save for getting beat badly on the two TDs.  Don't understand why Harbaugh abandoned the run late when it seemed to be working so well.

Giants played well, but both they and the Patriots are extremely fortunate to be where they are.   All four teams tonight were inches from being/not being in the SB.

I will now do my best to ignore the ridiculous, over the top hype that will transpire.  I'm ecstatic that my team won, but this game was a fucking chore, and I enjoyed very few parts of it.

Yeah it was a hell of a run. I'll still be thinking of Williams mistakes in the off season though. He did the same thing in Arizona.

Williams, just over a minute after hauling in a diving touchdown reception that tied the Sun Devils with arch-rival Arizona late in the fourth quarter, muffed a fair catch on a punt, which set up the Wildcats game-winning field goal.

people say they are proud to see their team make it to the conference title game or super bowl, and they have a reason to be proud because it takes a lot to make it that far

but the further your team makes it, the more the loss stings

the losses in the super bowl and afc title games hurt far more than the first round playoff losses to the broncos and jaguars, heck they hurt more than the non playoff years

I'm here Earl. Though it hurts, I'm not saddened by the 9ers season at all. With expectations of only a winning season, they went far beyond and I can live with the loss. We were only 2 mistakes (both by Kyle Williams) away, since NY couldn't move the ball much in the 4th. The defense played pretty stout (Giants had a 3.9 average per play total) and sacked the hell out of Manning. The 2 mistakes led to 10 points, which is what it took for NY to win.
I'm very content with our season this year, and look forward to next year. Definitely need a stand out WR and need to work on 3rd down efficiency. A friend who was at the game said the 4th quarter got really windy which caused the ball to float on both teams.
We're a young team and will have most everyone back. I know that any free agents we have will want to resign because that gives them a chance to compete for another championship.

It was 1 muff punt. And the other turnover he was stripped by Jacquian Williams.

Give the giants special teams a little credit and you'll sound a little less cry babyish.

The week before the saints gave your team a handful of turnovers which led to points. At least one strip. And the outcome was still decided in the final moments of the game. Should we pick out one of the saints players and blame the loss on one man? Of course not. Thats not how games are judged. That's how cry babies judge the game.

You want to judge the game? Your team couldn't buy a 3rd down conversion. Let's start there.

I don't think either team "should have" won the game.  Yeah the Giants got points because of ST issues, but they also held SF to one (one?) 3 rd down conversion.  Outside of the two Davis passes, SF's offense was poop.

Aren't all the soaps off the air?  I don't care about either team.  Neither one excites me.  Not a Beli-cheat fan.  Can't stand Eli.  I'll probably be at the gym.

Fans of the game of football will be watching it.

No wonder you make nonsensical statements about teams and players 1/2 the time.

Who gives a rip??  A lot of fans will not be watching.  GB or NO v. NE would have drawn much higher ratings than NY v. NE.  Matchups drive ratings.  Happens in all sports.

Thats not how games are judged. That's how cry babies judge the game.

You want to judge the game? Your team couldn't buy a 3rd down conversion. Let's start there.

You know, I sat down all last night attempting to explain how I felt about the loss to various people. Tried to come across as a stand up person and not bitch about the loss.

No matter how you spin it, you're going to have at least 1-2 people that perceive it a different way than you intended and therefore you now sound like you're crying.

When it comes down to the game, Williams muffed the 1st punt. We battled back from that to tie the game. Then Williams was stripped of the 2nd kick...again both on a short field. That was all she wrote. Someone will say I'm making excuses. How is it an excuse? It's what happened, right?

With the lack of 3rd down conversions, yes that was a problem but we still tied the game with the lack of efficiency! We made adjustments to Cruz, we sacked Manning. We battled and battled. The game just turned out to be against the Niners and that's that.

No matter how I try to explain it I'm going to have some ass attempt to spin it another way. When really, that's the person that is being the cry baby.

Congrats to the Giants and their fans...I hope they fare well in the 'Bowl.

No shit... He said that Superbowl 42 (Their first meeting) was the 4th most watched superbowl of all time.

Not to mention that the Giants win was the most watched conference title game since 1995.

I hope Mark knows more about law than Football or he's fucked.

the ratings supposedly have been getting better each year since super bowl 42 which was the pats/giants super bowl

i don't see the ratings getting worse with two large market teams

and nobody is going to watch the super bowl just because new orleans is in it, other than a few people in that city

most people probably couldn't name a player other than drew brees, and even those people probably couldn't pick him out of a lineup

Lots of people.  But the game isn't on Sunday night.   :)

I don't want to watch because I could care less who wins and doubt I would enjoy the game.

they were the highest ever until last year

i'm sure everybody tuned in to see drew brees, the game being more hyped than ever has nothing to do with it ::)

So the ratings were the highest ever because of Brees, but nobody would watch the game because he plays in it?  Doesn't sound very consistent.

Pot meet Kettle.

The bottom line is that the Superbowl is insanely popular and always will be, only people who are not fans of football do not watch the Super Bowl every year.

If you don't watch the Super Bowl, don't make conversation about football... You WILL of course, because you're an idiot, but you no one should EVER pay any attention to your statements.

I have watched EVERY Super Bowl since Super Bowl XVIII in 1984... EVERY single one.

like i said before the ratings have improved each year

where did anybody say they were the highest ever because of brees?  or is that just what you want to think, even though there were probably at least 4 or 5 quarterbacks that were more famous than him before that game?

this matchup isn't interesting to you because your bitter your team lost, it is interesting to everybody else

There is at least some truth to this.  I'm a Laker fan more than an NBA fan (especially since the game has gone into the crapper); a Niner fan more than an NFL fan, unless I'm playing FF; a Tiger fan rather than a golf fan; an American tennis player fan, unless Nadal and Federer are playing each other; and a fan of all UH sports, which I would never otherwise watch.

Yes, the 80s and even the early 90s were the glory days.  The Cowboys, Niners, Skins played football the way it ought to be played.

it's ok if you're bitter, i always hear of people not watching the super bowl when their team loses in the conference championship

i remember in 2005 bill cowher intenionally flew to hawaii for the pro bowl while the super bowl was being played, he couldn't watch it after a 15 - 1 season and a 4th home afc title game loss

it will be watched by at least 100 million homes, not counting the millions watching it at a bar or friends house so yeah basically "everybody else"

like tu holmes said, you're opinion on sports should not be taken seriously

you don't like the games, you just have your favorites like a parent that goes to games only because their son is playing

any opinion you have will just be biased and should be ignored

Me and bitter don't belong in the same sentence.  I laugh too much and have way too much fun.   :)

There will be millions of people who don't watch, and many will not watch because of the match up.  One of my friends who is part owner of the Packers (lol) probably won't watch it either.

99% of the people not watching have a vagina in between their legs, the malls will be empty :)

a packers owner haha who could be more disappointed with this season after going 15 - 1 and on their way to being "the best team ever"

i wouldn't watch if i were him either ;)

Yes, I will continue to bash Snack, when I get a relevant story.  I did for like five years on the board.  lol.  Or I might just bump the thread when I'm feeling nostalgic.   :D

Wait.  You're the one who said Bird was overrated.  LOL!

Hopefully Kobe gets another ring or three before he hangs it up.  But in the meantime:
