Title: Madcow 5x5 v Strength Factor routine
Post by: davie on November 01, 2011, 10:45:55 AM
Hey guys. Bar the slight diff in exercises and a heavy light medium days. Is there any reason Bill Starr made both. Were they both not for athletes/football players etc?

Thanks

Davie

I haven't read the strength factor routine but my above post "the workout that always made me the biggest strongest" kinda gives my opinion of the madcow workout I think its one of the best possible workouts ever made and greatly under estimated. I never used periodization, I just kinda went by how I felt as I wasnt preparing for an athletic event or anything. It will get you strong and big no doubt about that. You get a weird soreness from them routines like you dont get from others more like you been hit by a truck but not really sore lol. Something about training 3 big compounds 3 times a weeks works. I benched 300 the first time with that and 315 and deadlifted 500 the first time training that way.  Westside for skinny bastards is another good athletic program Im sure you can go wrong with any
