He was right about 9/11. He's right about the drug and he defends his ideals very, very well with what?  THE CONSTITUTION. So try reading that and perhaps take a Political Science course where you train people and you'll learn what the powers of the Federal government are supposed to be.

What is the shitload of other things?

There are two basic reasons he's ignored; first because he doesn't pander to the corporate interests on which the republicans depend, and second because--although some of his policies are admittedly quite prudent--many of his ideas are completely out of touch with modern reality.

With your ignorant statement Coach, I just got all I needed and it's pretty much end of thread.

Both sides hands are filthy caked in shit.  Neither side could really give a shit about the consititution because if they did, this place would look alot different.  Ron Paul is a very bad threat and I'm sure there is some sort of agreement between powerful men on both sides to keep Paul in his place at all costs....You're a fucking sheep coach...

man, coach, RPaul is 100% behinc justice and the consitution.  If he got his way, we'd end the billions we spend 'fighting drugs' and other things - and americans' taxes would PLUMMET as we're no longer giving billions ot our enemies.

A Republican is supposed to be conservative Coach and Ron Paul has proven to be more conservative than any other candidate and peer in Congress.

perry, obama, hilary, mitt, cain...  they'll keep things essentially the same... our nation will be bankrupt in less than a decade.   Repubs will cut some spending and entitements, but the savings will go to tax breaks - not to paying down the debt.

Ron paul is the only guy who will fix the 14 trillion deficit.  The rest will not.  Even the Ryan Plan woudln't pay it down much more than a trillion over 10 years.

Ron Paul prevents america from bankruptcy - I care not for the rest of his positions.  If letting states enforce weed laws means we spend 500 billion less on "DEA" each year - GOOD!

great point.  Everything you see on TV is delivered to you by millionaires.  Everyting you see on TV is delivered to you by large int'l corporations.

And, millionaires & large corporations are best served by policies of Romney, Cain and Perry.  Hell, Cain was sponsored by Koch brothers for the last 5 years, Perry made HPV immunizations required by exec order and his chief of staff and 2012 PAC leader got millions, and ROmney spent 25 years working for wall street.

These candidates - just like Obama - work for the rich.  That's why TV stations love them.  If you're heavily influenced by Sean Hannity or Chris Mathews, you love a big business candidate.

LOL, learn some fucking economics you dumb piece of shit. The fundamental problem when it comes to the environment is lack of property rights. Common property always gets trashed, that's known as the "tragedy of the commons" among economists. When property rights are properly assigned, then everyone has an incentive to keep their own shit clean.

Pollutants in the air wouldn't be a problem if they didn't bother anyone, correct? The fundamental property right violation that is present with polluting the air doesn't have to do with the air itself, but what happens when people (who have a definite property right over themselves) breathe in the air.

I'd love to know their line of thinking behind doing this.

Paul Ron is a crazy old fool who is 93 years old. NOBODY takes him seriously.

Here's just ONE of Paul Ron's ridiculous statements:

Ron Paul Trashes FEMA Just Hours Before Hurricane Irene Makes Landfall
Just hours before Hurricane Irene is scheduled to reach the East Coast, Ron Paul decided it was appropriate to trash the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

While speaking in New Hampshire, Paul stated that no national response to the hurricane is needed, even though Irene threatens approximately 65 million people.

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul FEMA today, just hours before Hurricane Irene is scheduled to make landfall in the U.S. Approximately 65 million people are in the storm’s projected path. “A state can decide,” Paul said. “We don’t need somebody in Washington.”

He went on to cite the deadly hurricane of 1900 that leveled Galveston, Texas and killed more than 6,000 people as an example of a better life before FEMA. “I live on the gulf coast, we deal with hurricanes all the time,” said Paul. “The local people rebuild the city. Built a sea wall and they survived without FEMA. We should be like 1900, we should be like 1940 1950 1960,” Paul said. He argued they only make a “great contribution to deficit financing."

These comments are really irresponsible at a time when millions of people are in the path of a hurricane which comes after a rare earthquake strikes the same region. People need to know that their government can take action if need be. But Paul apparently thinks that people should be left on their own if disaster and tragedy strikes.

The problem isn't pollution in the air per se. The "air" pollution ends up harming real property - e.g. people who get sick from breathing in polluted air or land/buildings that get destroyed by pollutants from the air. The proper solution is to have air polluters liable for the damage that their air pollution has on real property.

how do you plan on determining which factory created the specific set of pollutant molecules which have damaged your lungs? How do you plan on determining the monetary value of a medical condition caused by pollutants? How do you plan to enforce this liability, through the drawn out and expensive mechanism of the legal system? if so, how is that remotely more efficient than simply maintaining government-enforced pollution regulations?

if you take the time to consider these issues, it becomes clear why privatization of the environment isn't viable in theory, and why it's failed in practice (see, for instance, china)

hahaha fuck i just saw your username, why do i even bother

how do you plan on determining which factory created the specific set of pollutant molecules which have damaged your lungs?

It's up to the person making the accusation to prove that. And it is not absurd like you make it out to be. If you can prove that a certain pollutant caused you to fall ill, and if you can prove that a certain factory nearby is emitting that pollutant, then you have

How do you plan on determining the monetary value of a medical condition caused by pollutants?

Up to the legal system to decide that. I'm not a jurist. However, every good common law principle focuses on compensation. Obviously, compensation would have to cover more than just medical costs (would also have to cover other opportunity costs).

Quote
How do you plan to enforce this liability, through the drawn out and expensive mechanism of the legal system? if so, how is that remotely more efficient than simply maintaining government-enforced pollution regulations?

LOL. Government regulations are somehow efficient? Give me a break. They require expensive compliance by businesses along with untold sums of taxpayer money to keep going. And that's not even going into the public choice problems present with government regulatory agencies.

if you take the time to consider these issues, it becomes clear why privatization of the environment isn't viable in theory, and why it's failed in practice (see, for instance, china)

China has a privatized environment? You really are retarded.

what if there are 2 factories producing the same chemical? imagine that  ::)

the legal system routinely fails as a deterrent in matters of corporate liability, where regulation could have prevented them--see, for instance, enron

and yes, china's environment has defacto existed under private regulation for years, causing the massive current environmental issues which have forced the government to step in in a regulatory capacity. Frankly, the fact that you seem to be under the impression that china is still an economically "communist" country tells me you're not equipped to participate in this discussion at any meaningful level of discourse.

You're arguing with a former currency trader, bro. When the shit hits the fan, which currency do nations and institutions all over the world turn to? The Euro? The Chinese Yuan Renminbi? The Yen? Please.

1. The U.S. Dollar
First and foremost is the U.S. dollar, which is easily the most traded currency on the planet. The USD can be found in a pair with all the other major currencies and often acts as the intermediary in triangular currency transactions. This is all because the USD acts as the unofficial global reserve currency, held by nearly every central bank and institutional investment entity in the world.

In addition, due to the U.S. dollar's global acceptance, it is used by some countries as an official currency, as opposed to a local currency, a practice known as dollarization. As well, the U.S. dollar may be widely accepted in other nations, acting as an informal alternative form of payment, while those nations maintain their official local currency.

The dollar is also an important factor in the foreign exchange rate market for other currencies, where it may act as a benchmark or target rate for countries that choose to fix or peg their currencies to the USD's value. For instance, as of 2011, China has its currency, the renminbi, still pegged to the dollar, much to the disagreement of many economists and central bankers. Quite often countries will fix their exchange rates to the USD to stabilize their exchange rate, rather than allowing the free (forex) markets to fluctuate its relative value.

The U.S. Dollar Is Still the Top Choice
By AGNES T. CRANE and ANTONY CURRIE

It will take more than a debt downgrade and two years of ultra-low interest rates to knock the dollar from its perch as the world’s reserve currency. Despite multiple setbacks, the dollar remains the lingua franca of global commerce and the currency of choice for foreign central banks.

The Federal Reserve’s commitment to keep interest rates exceptionally low until mid-2013 is bound to start another storm of international protest, and with good reason. Low rates make dollars much less appealing to hold and drives investors to alternatives like the Swiss franc and the Japanese yen.

When combined with the decision by Standard & Poor’s to strip America of its AAA rating, the dollar should arguably be taking a bigger hit. The dollar index, which measures the dollar’s value against several other currencies, is at a depressed 74.7, but still well above the 71.3 it hit in early 2008.

A big reason is that a strong dollar remains in the world’s best interest. Even though it has lost more than a third of its value in the last decade, global savers have filled their central bank mattresses with the stuff. According to the International Monetary Fund, 61 percent of the world’s $5.3 trillion allocated currency reserves are in dollars, little changed from the previous two years. New purchases in the first quarter overwhelmingly favored the dollar, as some central banks bought it to check the appreciation of their own currencies.

Reserve currency reigns do not end overnight. The previous champ, sterling, ceded its title over a period of decades. This time around, there is still no other currency that could take the dollar’s place. The euro, once the leading contender, is under siege, while the Chinese renminbi is still pegged to the dollar. Plans to create a reserve currency basket have not gained much traction.

I understand why you believe this man and I used to feel the same way.
I don't have much going on in my life right now and haven't had much to stand for or be motivated about but I believe this man RON PAUL's ideals which are based the CONSTITUTION is the key for America to be the America that has always been talked about.  The America that our great-grandparents and grandparents fought for.

If Ron Paul has constantly stayed on course for 30 years, little by little garnering more support over the years, then there's no reason for me if I truly believe in his message to not stay the course and preach the truth.  And I truly believe in everything he's said.

He has warned us for years and many things have come to pass, yet people still choose to be blind, not me. This man's message ignites a fire in me like no other and it's baffling to me that others don't get it.

So though mine and many others votes may "go to waste" our numbers are multplying and it's only a matter of time before the truth wins out, it always does.

I have every intention....Next to the Gold's Gym here in Henderson, NV there is a Ron Paul Campaign office. A couple of weeks ago I finished a workout and headed across the street to get a post workout meal and I noticed to the parking lot was max full.  I didn't know where it was coming from and when found it and saw what it was about I wasn't to upset.  Ron had actually been here giving a speech....Pretty Awesome.

And because I have nothing else to do now but school. I will help where I am needed.   My uncle schooled me in the politics game. He's a very smart man. He is also a Ron Paul supporter.

People want to talk about 2012 and paradigm shifts.  Ron Paul being elected and becoming the President would certainly be a paradigm shift in itself in that his policies would for the way people think and do business WORLD WIDE and ultimatly we'd all be better off.

They discredit Paul as the Right's Kucinich, a Libertarian gun-toting racist insensitive to domestic socio-economic issues or an old kook with a bunch of "I told you so" stories. Meanwhile...Perry? Romney? Fuck that noise. Cain? Bachman? Better but honestly....same flim-flam minority gimmick as Obama, and being better than Perry and Romney is not saying much.

We need statesmen...not people living off of being politicians. How could anyone think that all this lobby money tied directly to votes could last for long? We are not well represented by popular voting now. We are given crap choices on either side, so what is our vote worth? Things are so dirty it's not sustainable, but I'm not sure that it's going to swing before we have a second term on our hands. People ARE that stupid and coverage IS that slanted.

There are two basic reasons he's ignored; first because he doesn't pander to the corporate interests on which the republicans depend, and second because--although some of his policies are admittedly quite prudent--many of his ideas are completely out of touch with modern reality.
dead on the money

off the top of my head, his notion of free market environmentalism is outmoded--it's been shown time and time again that the free market does an inadequate job of environmental regulation
another easy one- he wants to get rid of the federal reserve

first of all, I didnt cite my degree is a claim for validity; I mentioned it when "howardroark" ( ::)) told me to "learn some fucking economics." Second, there's something seriously wrong with you if you think that a company producing levels of pollution that might seriously harm you and your family is excusable so long as they pay a "fee" afterwards. Even if your own family isnt at risk, supporting this sort of policy borders on sociopathy.

Mark Levin has a reputation. I don't know if I'd call it credible. He speaks as if he's the sole arbiter of truth, but that doesn't necessarily make it so. Not to mention that the guy's theatrics, shrill voice and ad-hominem attacks on anyone who disagrees with him detract from any legitimate points he has to make.

The fact is that Ron Paul - agree or disagree with him - is the most Conservative (going by the traditional definition of the word), the most consistent and the most principled candidate currently in the race.

And all in all, I find it extremely amusing that you would think that liberals are behind and support him. Ron Paul's ideals and beliefs are diametrically opposed to liberal ideals, especially in the economic front.

It's a pity Paul isn't 20-25 years younger.

It's ok because his ideas are out there...That's huge.

The ideas are secondary, in the sense that you need someone principled who really believes them and will consistently follow them. What good will it be to get someone who copies all the Ron Paul rhetoric elected, if he doesn't believe in, and won't fight for, those ideas?

The sad fact is that most politicians are, by nature flip-floppers, with no opinions and beliefs of their own. Just focus-group tested sound bites on the issue that topped the opinion polls the previous week.

first of all, I didnt cite my degree is a claim for validity; I mentioned it when "howardroark" ( ::)) told me to "learn some fucking economics."

Second, there's something seriously wrong with you if you think that a company producing levels of pollution that might seriously harm you and your family is excusable so long as they pay a "fee" afterwards. Even if your own family isnt at risk, supporting this sort of policy borders on sociopathy.
Alright I'll give you that.

The second part is relative. Obviously people shouldn't be payed off just to get cancer. But I think if a company is gonna risk possible harm to you, your entitled to some sort of danger pay. You say this is sociopathy, but many companies risk the lives of people every single day. Just goto a rehab clinic, subtract those retards that can't drive, and you'll have tons of people that get fucked on the job. Be it carpal tunnel, bad knees, back etcera.

This is why everyone should vote for Paul:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evYwPJUY_cc
He's too old, too idealistic to be a leader. What there needs to be is a libertarian party to replace the corrupt republicans, and a socialist party for obama's "people".

We need more than two politically parties. American is suppose to be free, but having two parties that essentially function as a monopolized unit is a fucking crime. Be you left wing or right wing, it's clear that the political system is a mess.

People keep claiming how president x won't change things, and that's because they only ever keep the corptocracy in power.

Americans view socialism as communism, and view corptocracy as democracy

principled, yes. but so was hitler.

libertarians are great as long as they have common sense. ron paul doesnt.

the free market does not regulate itself anywhere near efficiently enough or expediently enough to be left to its own devices. regulations and regulators are necessary. the epa is necessary, the federal reserve is necessary, minimum wage is necessary. without them pollution would be rampant, the financial system would be destructively unstable and unreliable, and workers would be taken advantage of by employers. simply because they can, and because doing so would increase profits.

the free market doesnt produce benevolent service industries. fire protection, health care, education, postal service, roads, infrastructure.. it is necessary that the government provides these. without this private industry would fill these roles in a way that costs more, provides less, and is discriminatory. simply because they can, and because doing so would increase profits.

ron paul doesnt understand this. ron paul doesnt understand that common sense always outweighs political principle.

No they wont.   They like his position on drugs and war, but when it comes to everything else they freak out.

Progressives are still sucking cock for obama, dont kid yourself.

Me - I am paul all the way.   He is the only one up there close to my views.

Again,

It's the independents who would vote for Paul.

People who are not blinded by either parties bullshit.

You should just stick with being associated with the term "Moron" since that is most fitting for you.
