GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann learned that protesters often come in adorable packages. A video captures the Minnesota congresswoman greeting 8-year-old Elijah and his mom at a signing event for Bachmann's book, "Core of Conviction: My Story," in South Carolina.
The candidate, who is an outspoken opponent of same-sex marriage, met her match with the soft-spoken, pint-sized activist. The video shows Bachmann leaning in to listen closely as the youngster whispers, "My mommy's gay, but she doesn't need fixing."
Bachmann bolts back up and manages a "bye bye" as mother and son walk away.
This isn't the first time that Bachmann has faced challenges to her stand on gay rights from the younger set. Last week, Bachmann was questioned by a teen about her opposition to gay marriage.

This is about THE WOMAN'S issue with Bachmann, regarding the congresswoman's stance on homosexuality (and related issues). SHE, not the boy, needs to confront Bachmann if it's bothering her that much. SHE, not that boy, needs to be woman enough to air her grievances.
This was an act of cowardice and a stunt that went wrong, because Bachmann didn't take the bait.

This is about THE WOMAN'S issue with Bachmann, regarding the congresswoman's stance on homosexuality (and related issues). SHE, not the boy, needs to confront Bachmann if it's bothering her that much. SHE, not that boy, needs to be woman enough to air her grievances.

So the mother wasn't prompting him and actually wanted to leave so wasn't hiding behind her kid and didn't force him to do anything. It sounds like the kid forced the mother to stay so that he could do what he wanted to do

I have a seven-year-old. Believe me! When she wants to talk to someone, she rolls right up to talk with him or her, often dragging dear ol' Dad by the arm in the process. She hardly needs to be poked or prodded and when she does talk, she's VOCAL.
When she's shy and doesn't want to talk, such as asking Grandma (my mother) for a snack or a question for her homework assigment, she clams up almost EXACTLY like that boy in this video.

comparing 2nd graders to 4th grader.... it's no ccomparison. it's kinda the age where they fig out santa, they figure out life/death, finances, where babies come from, what drugs and alcohol are, crime, etc.
I've seen it in all my neices and nephews these last few years... a 2nd grader (7 years old) woudln't come up with what this kid said. A 4th grader (9 years old) certainly could. An 8 year old?
