Title: Weight, Bench, Squat, Are you natural?
Post by: wells31 on October 10, 2005, 08:18:51 PM
Hey, just wondering what some of you can do in the gym? What is your weight, bench, and squat? Are you natural and roid freak?

Hey Wells, I'm definately a roid freak. My nuts are gone, but hey I can lift heavy objects. I'm pretty much a Fattass. I can't stop eating lard. I hate cardio. I'll probably die soon. I can't walk up a flight of stairs without almost passing out, but I'm happy. I weigh 415 in the morning before I begin my grazing. My colesterol is 545 and my triglicerides are 987. My blood pressure is 170 over 110 relaxed. My heart rate is around 110 relaxed. I'm thinking of cutting out some of my gear, so I can get healthier.
Oh by the way, with all my equipment on I can bench 775, squat 945 and deadlift 779. Not very good numbers considering I outweigh most elephants.

Unreal Fattass, sounds like you might have some future problems. I bet you are just one massive chunk. What is your height? I have never met or seen anybody bench and squat that much weight. How do you have sex if you can't walk up a flight of stairs? Do you pass out while doing the deed?

What the hell, I'll go.

I'm 6'1", 245 and lifetime natural (40 yrs old).

My best lifts recently have been 515 x 3 DL, 425 squat, 225 x 12 bench.  That's all with no belt or wraps or anything.

My bench sucks (well all my lifts pretty much suck but the bench sucks the most).  Maybe I might be good for a 1RM in the high 200's and if I can ever get 315 I'll be pretty proud of myself.

after4 and this morning right afteri woke up i weighed 159 butt ass naked notgoing for size right now, when i work out i do 5 days a week hit every body part and i hit them as hard and heavy 4 sets around 6 reps for the main body parts then drop the weight for more like 12 rep sets I'm mainly a bencher at 148 i hit 330 raw, right now I'm not sure where my max is I'm thinking and hoping I'm at 350, the other day i did 315 for 4 for the first time, as for the other 2 lifts i f-ing hate them, i did 3 lift  meets for the longest time and remember how it felt trying to get one of them damn squat suits on and i remember the deadlift, sumo style blood every where everytime that bar hit my shins, so now i just want to look good and get as strong as i can hell I'm 34 i want my knees my elbows well when they start hurting I'll  stop the heavy benching..

240 natural will know my numbers when I compete in february.  Around 500 dead and squat 330 bench.  Will probably go up considerably when I start putting the straps up on my suits and put on a bench shirt.  Im only competing in a novice meet.

Is February your first meet hangclean? I have never competed. I also weight 240 at 5'10" and natural. I thought about competing but most guys use the "gear" and I don't want to look foolish. I use knee wraps for squats and probably would never use a suit. Good luck!

 Deadlift 765 raw

I hit my 644.7 at a drug tested meet although I didn't get tested.I wouldn't call myself natural however my last cycle was in 2003 for bodybuilding. I was hoping to get tested to show all the guys at my gym you can get strong clean, but they'd just say I know how to beat the test. You can never win.

Wow, after reading alot of the numbers you guys press, I suddenly feel smaller...
I've only been training since January of this year tho, but here goes-

33 yrs old
6'1" Tall
250 lbs.

Don't know 1 rep max, but work with-

Bench - 240  8-10 reps
Squat 315  5-8 reps(Smith not freebar)
Deadlift 325 3-5 reps

As if you couldn't guess, yea, natural.  ;)
I admire all of you guys and your incredible lifts, shirts or gear or not, its still incredible what people can do when they put their minds to it.

I am 6'0" and currently weigh 350 lb at 29% bodyfat (I get regular hydrostatic measurements at the university). Although I do have a larger bone structure to build on (8.75" wrist), I can only maintain that amount of muscle mass naturally with a caloric surplus - and the accompanying high body fat. I was as high as 380 six months ago, and have lost a pound of muscle for each 2 lbs of fat - it's tough to hold onto muscle while losing fat without AAS. Once I hit SHW, I got into thinking that bigger was better, but that was ultimately a mistake. I carry the weight well now, but it is not a healthy weight to take into later life and it is not easy to lose once your body hits an equilibrium. If I had to do it all over, I would have tried to stay at the 275 class at no more than 18% BF.

I have nothing against AAS - it is a personal choice of which adult men should have the liberty to choose - but at elevated bodyweight I am already doing my heart a disservice and do not want to add elevated blood pressure and cardiac tissue hypertrophy on top of it.

I currently am a natural bodybuilder looking to make the switch to powerlifting to put on some density. I have put up some decent numbers in the gym. I don't know if I would get these numbers in competition, but I did perfrom them in good form. I plan on competing in one of the drug free powerlifting organizations this summer.
Bodyweight:165
Bench:355- Single
Deadlift: 405x4
Squat: 405x12

Have done 500 bench, 600 squat, and 700 deadlift, all raw.  Recovering from some semi-pro football injuries (torn rotator cuff and broken leg), so lifts are slightly lower now, but making improvements every week.

I have never competed in a powerlifting meet but thinking about entering one some day. After reading some of the numbers people have put up, I might not be ready and get my ass handed to me. My lifts are going really well in the gym but probably not ready for competition. I'll just keep my ass in the gym for now. 8)

Don't let these weights keep you from competing.  I've won bench meets before with a 400 lb. bench press before.  I've also gotten 2nd or 3rd with a 525 lb. Bench.  The competition is with yourself more than anyone else.  I lift raw, and I compete in open meets.  So when I go in, I realize that a guy that I'm stronger than may use a bench shirt to put up a bigger lift.  I just try to lift more than I did in my last contest.

I use the meets to validate my lifts.  It also motivates my training to have a set date to put it all on the line.  I personally usually put up my biggest numbers in meets.  I feed off of the crowd.

Over the last two days I benched 300 (easy) and squatted 440 (also pretty easy) so I think my numbers are really closer to 310 and 450. I turn eighteen this Sunday (12/18/05) and I weigh about 270. How much more do these lifts need to come up before I can be a solid competition powerlifter?

Thanks for the motivation bigdog! My friends have been asking if I'm going to compete and some recommend I should. I just broke my squat record this past Friday with 605 using only knee wraps. My bench is probably 400 with a pause (no shirt). I need to start doing some dead lifts though, but I've been naturally strong at those.

It is good to hear that you go raw and that is what I like about lifting. I just started using knee wraps for the purpose of walking the weight out of the rack and not having my knee buckle. I know what you mean about having a set date for doing a big lift. That is what I do every so often in the gym when I feel I'm ready for a big lift. All I could think about last week was squatting the 605 and a couple of my buddies came to watch which made it even more fun.

How do you get involved in the meets and where do you find them?

Wells, you are a FREAK...............you grow on pork chops, and enlarge. You are in the top of you class, due to the fact I know you are not taking anything stronger than enlarge, which no disrespect is not much. If you ever did mess with some real gear, you would scare small children, and if you could stay injury free, theres no telling what your lifts would be. By the way, you had 625 in my opinion by the way you came up out of the hole on that PR.

Hey Fatass, thanks for the compliment. I don't know what it is I take that works but something is working right, it could be the n-large, the pork chops, celltech, or the skim milk injections, I don't know. But I'm having fun and ready show people that great lifts can be achieved without steroids. Yeah I wonder what I would be like if I did take a cycle or two of the gear, but I've came this far without it, I feel that would be the easy way out if I did take it.

Yeah, I probably should of tried 625, but I was still in shock that I just did 605. I will go for 625 in a couple weeks, hope you show up. I'm going to try 3 sets of 5 at 530 this week, we'll see how it goes.

im embarrassed as fuck now seeing all those numbers! anyway, ive never lifted for long enough periods for my strength to increase but heres my best lifts:

bench - 175 (my shoulders and triceps are wrecked)

squat - 315 * 3 (1rm = 350ish?)

dead - 315 * 3

i lift for a few months then lose interest for about a year, so i start back from scratch. I dont even consume half the protein i should lol

How many reps with what weight do you do on deads? How many times a week do you train deads? I have had great results doing 3 weeks heavy and 1 week light only doing deads once a week. My max is 560 so I do 2 sets of 5 reps with 535 on my heavy weeks. Try lifting a weight that you know you can get at least 3 times but trying for 5. When you get comfortable with that weight after a couple weeks, add 5 to 10 pounds. On the light week, pick a weight that you know you can lift more than 5 reps and burn yourself out giving yourself some conditioning. I'm not a professional at all and don't claim to be a know it all. All I know is what works for me. I listen to other people advice and try it with alittle of what I know. Just trying to help!

well i'm 305 now and not training but i can go into the basement and give 310 on the bench 475 on the squat(kaz style quads no half squats) with no training an about the same on the dead,i can overhead press 225 sitting down.i can close the #2 captains of crush now for 5 reps in each hand now.at 225 to 250 natural the lifts were 350 and 550 and around the same for the dead.that was three years ago natural and i was training pretty hard.but i don;t train coinsistsently i'm always off and on never sticking to it year round.there's no point in making  lifting your living unless you juice.it just gives you so much more power.look at barry bonds and what cattle steroids and stuff can do to you.pinch grip 25's smooth side and i can plate curl a 35 pounder but i've been training my grip.i like to see what i could do juiced with someone training me year round but it';s just not worth it.you guys have been forgetting to say if you juiced or didn;t.

Never juiced and never plan too! Very proud of my accomplishments! If you juice one time, all the years you worked for are for nothing! People see you as a cheater and you took the easy way! I'm not going to do that to myself!

James,
Much resect! I just started getting into PLing and your numbers are my goals! I weigh 252 and wanting to PL in the 242 lb class. How in the world do you drop 10 to 15 pounds before the meet and still have strength? Very impressive!

Thank you............and it's TIM, James is posted above my post.

I would start dropping my calories and carbs about 7-10 days out to slowly drop weight. I could usually cut 6-8 pounds in 10 days. Weight can really vary, depending upon when you weigh yourself..........mornin g or evening. The last week prior to a meet, I do not train, so cutting calories and carbs won't kill you, or your training. If I know I am going to be close, I will actually spit.....while chewing grape gum....a lot of it. I have filled a gallon jug 1/2 way over a long day. If I need to get drastic, I can take 2 servings of glutamine............and like clock work, within 1 hour, I can visit the "bathroom" and "drop" 5 pounds of "liquid-gel"......very fast. I don't advise this as you will get dehydrated very fast. It has taken 20 years to figure out what works for me. Several times I have weighed in at 242.5, exactly the limit. I have weighed 242 at a night weigh in, loaded up on cell tech by drinking 2 servings every 4 hours......all night (setting the alarm), then weighed 252 the next day. I set PR'S that day and felt incredible. To set state records/National records you have to weigh in the morning of the meet....which makes it much, much harder. Sometimes we do drastic.....almost stupid things to make weight.....but I'm healthy as ever at age 41..............and have remained drug free.

Thank you............and it's TIM, James is posted above my post.

I would start dropping my calories and carbs about 7-10 days out to slowly drop weight. I could usually cut 6-8 pounds in 10 days. Sorry about the name thing!
Tim, you rock man! You have set the bar for me! I'm 30 pushing the 255 lb mark at 5'10" with a 605 lb squat, 405 lb bench, and 560 lb dead all being raw. I got single ply equipment but haven't got a chance to break them in yet. I have never tried the drug thing and get accused of it everyday, I take it as a compliment! So really, the weight drop is all water? Have you had any injuries over the years? What are some good powerlifting meets and organizations to be apart of?

Give its a shot as well.

Squats - horrible - 335X5 no 1 rep max as of yet. Gains have been steady, not a big squat guy until recently.                   I would like to hit 405lbs
Deadlift - 485 without wraps x 3  - 535x1 with wraps - Was not attempting 1 rep max but this is the highest i've hit.           I would like to hit 600lbs
Bench - 345X1  - training to hit 405 by July I hope. Have reached it in 2002 at BW of 235.

I'm currently 220. at 5'10. I hope with an increase of BW that the lift weight will go up. Not concerned with BW to lift weight ratio as long as i can stay lean between 10-12% BF.

USAPL all the way..............single ply gear and consistant drug testing.

If you haven't worn equipment before, don't "freak out" when you first put it on. It will take some time to get used to it. Once you do..........the skies the limit! Train hard.....train smart!

I broke in my equipment this past thursday and friday. Thursday I used my bench shirt and it was freakin awesome. 405 never felt so easy. Now friday with the inzer "Z" suit doing squats is whole another story. One word and it is PAIN but good pain. I didn't get to do the weight I wanted to casue it was so different for the norm. I couldn't breath at all but that may been from the belt being to tight. I don't know but I need to try the suit again after my legs grow some skin back on them.

BE PATIENT.

A belt can be too tight. Put it on comfortably tight. If you are using a normal stance squatting, take it out an inch with both feet and it may help you get down with the gear on without doing a "good morning" and killing your back. If you don't black out.......it's a good suit...lol.

i can now do my 1rep max for 3 reps on all three lifts after i stopped training specifically for powerlifting.my endurance is much better now to.my goals changed whenever i got into my line of work,my goal now is just to be a little stronger everytime i go to the gym without sacrificing endurance.i think if i entered a event now i would crush my all time total.

my schedule now is circuit training(Milo's style)for 1 month, and then i powerlift for 3 months and then repeat.i also stopped using steroids 2 years ago,and with the way i train and eat i haven't lost barely any size.

I HAVE A NEW PESONAL BEST!!

maxed out on bench today!!

warmed up 135x15-185x10-225x5-275x2

then, 315x1 with pause
        335x1 with pause
350x1 touch and go controlled(didnt bounce it either!)

so my new goal for the Christmas is at least 375 with hopes of 405.
after Christmas i'll be cutting and just hope to hold onto 375

I don't compete in PL but did do a bill starr routine this past winter and helped put some weight on my lifts. I'm 5'10" around 210.

Squat - 355 x 6  not sure whatmy 1rm is

Dead - 500 x 5 again not sure 1rm

Bench just hit 275x1 today, very excited. I have extremely long arms which has always hurt my bench but helped my deads.

I also do all lifts in BBing form with no equipment. I'm going to really bulk up this winter and go back to the bill starr and hope to achieve the following 1rms

Squat 425
Dead 600
Bench 315

HAHAHA! Oh we're talking regular benching? Not closed grips? Serioulsy though, you don't think this guy can't hit anywhere close to that if he trains HARD for it, eats right, and has the right mindset?  ???

Its possible. When I started to PL my bench shot right up to 405x1 from about 335x1 in three months flat. That was going from a BBing split to Westside Barbell. I havent benched since (except for close grip/JM) because I do all overhead work for strongman. I think its possible but it takes time. 2 months is doable.

Let me get this straight: you put 70 lbs on your bench in 3 months?  I'm assuming roids were involved?

When you BP 335, it's well nigh impossible to increase your press by 70 lbs in three months RAW and without drugs.  When you first start lifting, it's easy to get up to a 335 max within a year or two.  But by that point, naturals hit a wall...making 5 lb gains on your max from that point on, RAW, are an accomplishment.

No roids at all, my main man! I couldnt believe it myself. It WAS my first time powerlifting and for some reason I responded very well to the split. I only wish it had worked the same for my squat and DL. They move up as slow as ever. I think about 25-35lbs came just by adjusting my form. I never did anything but lay flat out and push the bar. Once I learned about proper powerlifting bench form and how to train my weak points my numbers just started shooting up! My DL actually went down in the same time and my squat stayed about the same.

Dont know what else to tell ya? I just got my shit together. Diet was on point and everything. My OHP has gone from 235 to 295 (new PR) in the last few months as well! Most of that is technique, once again, and focusing on it as it is my weakest point.

The only reason why you wouldn't be able to do it is because you don't think you an. 50lbs? 70lbs? that's not that far off. You've only got to train each side of your body to handle 35more lbs for one big push. 3 months would be cake if you implied partials, lockouts, etc. If you focused on training for it and it alone and took out all the kinks in your form and execution, it's a give me. I know alot of strong benchers than have shitty form and once they've perfected the setup adn form execution, they easily added 30+ lbs on their benches and some well over 50lbs. Instead of saying it's not possible, why not explore every avenue to MAKE it possible.
