Title: "Karma" - your thoughts?
Post by: Butterbean on December 16, 2011, 07:15:45 AM
You often hear people speak of "Karma" in the sense of "what goes around comes around."

What are your thoughts on "Karma" and also on it's origin?

I'm not so much interested in the dictionary definitions of Karma but of the opinions (which could be the same or different than the dictionary defs)  of those that believes it exists.

I personally believe that the norm is:

"What goes around, comes around."

Galatians 6:7 (New International Version)
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.

But there are exceptions to the norm:

"Bad things happen to good people."

1 Peter 2:22-23
22 "He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth."  23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

Agree.  "What goes around, comes around" is right out of Proverbs 26:27:

"Whoever digs a pit will fall into it,
And he who rolls a stone will have it roll back on him."
